You missed the steamboat museum, that's one of my favorite museums I have ever visited in the world. They dug up a steamboat that crashed in the 1850s and put everything on display. Because it was in oxygen-poor water it preserved everything. Also the train station interior is incredible, it might beat nyc grand central in its impressiveness.

Bobby and Steff just click and compliment each other. So great they are a cpl. Lucky man! I live in N Ireland where WW1 is still a huge thing because of the Ulster 36th Div courage and achievements at the Somme in 1916 and throughout the war. In fact in the little park behind me a captured German cannon is displayed as a thank you to the local men who fought in that war. My grandfather fought right through it with hardly a scratch on him so very lucky. Enjoying the Glamping doodles but miss the dogs

KC is known as the city of fountains. They have more water fountains than Rome. Some cool areas are the Country Club Plaza which has the architecture of Seville Spain. Power and light district is a cool area to eat and drink.

Nope, you would be mistaken. Rome has around 310 - 320 fountains, with many being older than the United States. Kansas City has around 200 or so fountains. Also, I think most would rather visit the fountains of Rome than the fountains of Kansas City. There is an Italian Water Fountain on display at the Museum of Art in Saint Louis ( or was ) that was bought and then shipped back to the US. It's about as twice as old if not older than the founding of the United States 800 - 1100 years old. It came from some small village in Italy. It's so old, the stone work, design and decor, carvings have all but been washed away from the centuries of use, It's a beautiful thing to behold and study.

KC Native here, Best BBQ: 1. Joe’s Kansas City, 2. Jack Stack, a bunch of places tied for 3rd. Q39 is great, just not my first choice. Its where I go after seeing that the line at Joe’s Kansas City is out the door. If you want to get a drink in a laid back atmosphere, check out the Speakeasy in Hotel Phillips. I happen to stumble across it one day and it is a really cool bar. You have to get buzzed into the “secret” door. They were right next to the Federal Reserve museum and Crown Center. Crown Center is really beautiful during Christmas and has the world’s best tea shop. In Union Station they have a Science museum for kids.

KCMO resident here (not a native). My take on our local BBQ: 1. Q39 is neat, but they come from the land of Trying Too Hard. Interesting menu options and decent food but not the best BBQ. They want to be upscale like Jack Stack. 2. Jack Stack is the BBQ chain you visit if you want stellar service and are willing to pay a premium. Their food is pretty good (get the cheesy corn and baked beans), but they are very expensive. During COVID, they started to nickel and dime customers for everything, and it hasn't changed. 3. Joe's KC is probably my favorite place for "every day" BBQ. Plenty of options and good food at prices that aren't ridiculous. 4. Gates BBQ is wickedly overpriced except for their nooner special special. The memorable quality of this place is when you walk in and the lady at the counter shouts, "CAN I HELP YOU?!" 5. Slap's is the place to go for the city's best brisket burnt ends. 6. If you're on the south end of KC, give Lueck's a try. They're currently in Grandview as a take-out only place, but the owner will soon be relocating to Belton to have sitdown dining. Good BBQ, beans, and homemade pies. However, I'd stay away from his cheesy corn as it has a gritty/silty texture.

Hey that's my neck of the woods! Lots of good BBQ around. The Overland Park farmers market is a good stop for fresh veggies when they have it. OH and if you like a good beer KC Bier CO's Dunkel is really good.
