We take you on a tour of the Jack Daniel's Distillery in Lynchburg Tennessee Thank you for watching! If you would like to support the channel more you can become a patron at / sailingdoodles
A few years ago I promised my son a distillery tour so we dropped in on the Jim Beam place in July, only to discover Jim Beam didn’t offer tours in July! But in the Jim Beam gift shop we met their Master Distiller and he gave us directions to a nearby boutique distillery called Woodford Reserve. A very small operation but just as interesting and they did tours year round!
Hey Bobby about that burnt plug on the camper, check the receptacle at the campground. A common cause for the plug to burn like that is from a loose connection. With all of the RVs plugging in and out of those receptacles they can get Worn and Loose. Love your show ❤️
@@thereissomecoolstuff Unless it was wired incorrectly before. Gold is hot (black, but it could also be red, both on a 125/250V plug and receptacle), white is neutral, and green is always ground. If black and white are reversed, it might work, but is not proper or safe.
Hey Bobby and Stephanie! I saw where you mentioned Manchester, TN. I live very close in the Crossville, TN area. Have enjoyed your channel for a good while. Thanks for the good content! Can relate to much of it. Be safe and happy trails and sails. Hopefully the cost of fuel will allow you to get back into powerboats. Your crew seemed to be in the sweet spot there! 🐕🏖🚤🛥
I loved Stephanie honest expression after tasting the famous Jack Daniels whisky, I'm with you all the way darlin'....yeck, yeck, yeck...what a way to wreck your tastebuds. Stephanie is such a sweetheart because she is so honest and whether the news is good or bad she does it with a smile on her face.
Interesting video, maybe on my next trip to Gatlinburg Tennessee I will visit Jack Daniel's distilleries. I love visiting Tennessee alway interesting stuff to see and do. Mr. Bobby seriously, Stephanie is a true classy lady....always composed.....seems like real good company.
You have made my day! I have been drinking Jack Daniels for over 50 years! We just bought a new/used motor home, and this tour is on my bucket list!! Thank you for this tour!
Hi from Telluride, Bobbie!! Thank you very much to you two for sharing this tour!! Very awesome! There I was ...at Fort Campbell in 2007. I was getting attached to a unit from there to head to Iraq. I was heading over on their last plane of 5, and was told it would be close to a week before we headed over. I thought about just driving back home to NC to go trick or treating with my kids. But...I knew that would be a stretch. So, I was driving down to Lynchburg to tour the J.D. plant when I got the call....plane will be arriving in a couple of hours. So, I had to turn around ...and never got to go :-(
Good video 😃 you should get a surge protector cable it tells you if electricity at the post is good clean power also protects your rig from burning 🔥 up the wiring
Bobby, You should add a surge protector to your shore power connection. It will make sure you are getting clean power and can keep you from frying electronics if your power is dirty or not stable.
You forgot where you were Bobby. You unplugged your "shore power" to the RV. 😂 Yes, i watch the other channels. I like this camping channel thing, keep up the great work guys.
No, the same term is used for RV's and trucks......perhaps borrowed from boats, but it is common in the RV world since they travel and often have onboard power just like boats. The only other term I could think of to replace shore power is grid power, but I haven't heard that used by people who deal with RV's or in any of the literature for them.
You should do the Bourbon Trail in KY. Tours of different distilleries and free Bourbon tasting. I know your back on the Dark Side by now, but maybe next fall.
your co-pilot's smile is very nice.. I had the same electric issue on the last camping trip to TN/NC's The Tail of the Dragon, put a surge protector on it.
Love going to the Distillery I stop by every year on my way to Birmingham Ala to visit relatives, it breaks up the drive from Indianapolis. If you are every up this way it would be an honor to run into you. Love this channel and Sailing Doodles I look everyday for new vids and if not I just watch the others over again. Stay safe and stay well. Chuck
@ 9:57 that back building cover is where the grain is unloaded. There is a gran elevator moving below ground that moves the grain up to a storage area. Then to the fermenting tanks. Anyway, our work crew rebuild all of it years ago. We got a tour too. And a bottle of untaxed unstamped whisky too. I drank it many years later the night of my divorce.
Great video as usual Bobby!!! I am a fan and watch all your "Doodles" series, I wish would have known you were passing through my neck of the woods. By the way I live on top of the mountain you crossed on I-24 between Chattanooga and Manchester. Great content you share and keep the videos coming!!!
We took the JD tour several years ago and really enjoyed it. I remembered every stop along the way that you shared. Since we had tasted all the whiskies on the regular tour, we opted for the next one up where the tastings were of more Select whiskies. That only cost me about $300 at the gift/bottle shop.
Bobby, that looks like a voltage surge which campgrounds are notorious for. You can buy a device that reduces those. Southwire Portable Surge Guard Protector, 30-Amp
@@rogjackson It is quite common. Plugging in or unplugging while under load can create a spark and burn on the plug or receptacle and low voltage in the campground will increase the amperage and heat on a conductor or terminal. It is very common when people use a 15 amp adapter for their RV and try to run AC or other heavy loads. While it seems to always burn the male prongs of the 15 amp side, the entire adapter will get hot and a bad connection on the 30 amp side could foul the 30a cord end, making it more prone to high resistance and heat in the future. This reminds me that I need to check the 50A adapter for my trailer (30 amp). I think it had an overheated pin when I put it away last time.
Enjoy watching all of the Doodles ,Glamping and Sailing .. Love to see you come to your area in Texas ..Try Granbury,Texas and Pecan Plantation..u a working Plantation
Another great vid! Having grown up in Tennessee, I'm quite familiar with Jack Daniel's. (It is my drink of choice!) I've been to the distillery several times and it is a tour well worth taking!!
You can tin the cable ends with a soldering iron and solder then you prevent corrosion. Before doing this, twist the cable ends slightly with your fingers.
Loved this video. Jack Daniels is my drink of choice. Couple fun facts at one time and you still may find it you could get Jack Daniels unaged or filtered. Its clear whiskey and the color come from the barrel and aging. And yes it tastes like gasoline. Secondly the folks who make charcoal need an accelerant to get the pile of wood going. And if they use gas or lighter fluid it would leave a nasty after taste. They use unfiltered Jack Daniels to start the fire.
Hey Bobby, you probably drove through Tullahoma, TN (my hometown) to get to Lynchburg to see Jack Daniels. Tullahoma has the George Dickel Distillery. Not as big as Jack Daniels but just as interesting. Give it a look see next time you visit your cousin in Manchester.
Hey you can buy a package from the JD package store that just happens to have JD Rye in it. lol Love me some JD Rye. Tennessee is a great state for many reasons. Nice job you two.
Hoping you keep an eye on that new plug you installed. I would guess that wasn’t really your issue. Most likely power from the pole was the issue but could be the cord itself or the outlet on the RV.
