Headlight bulb replacement, high beam and low beam, Subaru Outback - Auto Repair Series 

So my 20 yo daughter got stuck in another town after dark with no low beams. She stopped at an auto parts store and bought the bulbs but the clerk didn't know how to change the bulbs on an outback (Said it was 'wierd'). she called me, I watched your video and talked her through it. both bulbs changed in about 15 min total! great job on the video. huge thanks!

I have a 2002 outback rebuild the engine myself, but never changed a headlight before in this car, Best instructional video I seen so far, thanks and keep up the good work.

I'm hoping 2001 and 2002 are the same because I have an 02 and your explanation is the clearest I've found yet. Thank you for explaining *from the beginning* and not taking anything for granted.

Doooope video!! So instructional compared to 90 percent of youtubers. Most people were removing the whole front bumper and removing the whole headlight.

Clear and easy-to-follow instructions--you're a natural teacher. I've changed many bulbs in the past, but every car has its quirks. It was nice to have it all spelled out and reduce my trial and error.

THANK YOU, ROBERT! I was able to follow your directions to replace both low beam headlight bulbs in under 30 minutes. I have a 2001 Subaru Legacy Outback LL Bean Wagon, and it was exactly the same as you described. Many other instruction videos were trying to sell me a whole replacement by making it seem hard. I figured I could do it anyway since I fix computers for a living, but your video was totally accurate. Thanks for saying that halogen bulbs need to be untouched or cleaned if touched. I didn't know that. Anyway I'm posting this video on my FB page to tell everyone how awesome you are!

Thanks, Robert! I watched another video first, which told me to removed the whole headlamp unit from the car and detach all the wires. Your approach was much simpler and faster -- and more in line with what I expected when I started the job. Good work!

On the newer Subarus you have to remove the battery and the airbox to replace the headlights bc those are both in the way of the assemblies on each side

I have a 2000 subaru outback, 2 5 liter engine, installed, cold air intake, installed new pipes, to the megnaflow muffler, wow subaru drives great now, espically after the cold air intake, after the muffler, an pipes changed, I feel feel the differance, on the way , she has better pick up speed now. Maybe you should make a video, with installing a cold air intake system. Just saying.
