Homemade Dog Food For Jack! I feed my dog a variety of foods. Here is a meal I made him today! Recipe #2 Tons of meat, veggies, eggs, & rice! Check out my human food channel! / earthlingcooks
still watching these to this day. been making my dogs fresh food for a couple weeks now. i’ve noticed they aren’t bloated anymore and they play a lot more energetically. thank you earthling
Good recipe, thanks for sharing. For extra calcium I save my egg shells, rinse them and bake the shells in the over for 20 min. Crush them into a powder in your coffee grinder and store in a jar Sprinkle a tbsp. a few times a week and you have an excellent source of calcium. ( I also sprinkle it on the soil around my orchids)
@@cucha7412 if you feed everyday. Some days they get an egg. Sometimes raw, sometimes fried. Sometimes a little chopped liver. It's al about variety, little and often. If sardines are packed spring water they're fine.
@@SephirothWaifu you stupid. Pork really isn't the healthiest meat but red meat is good when it's from good source and when u combine it with a balanced diet you're totally ok and super healthy
Where I worked I told a college student what was in my dog's homemade food. He got kind of quiet and woeful like and said "Your dog eats better than I do."
Taking my dog off of kibble was the best thing I could have done but buying a raw diet was so expensive from the pet store. I saw such a positive change in my dogs coat and overall health that I knew I had to find a way to make my own. I am so happy that I found your channel because now him and my wallet will be happy!!
Awesome to hear! I feed cooked, raw, and homemade treats (see my dog treat playlist). My dog is almost 13 years old and has never been ill or injured his whole life. Has white sharp teeth like a 3 year old dog and acts like a crazy hyper puppy! Real food wins!
I really love folks sharing their homemade dog food recipes. I've been cooking for my dog for several years now. I like the fact that you feed a variety of foods. Thanks for sharing!! Such an adorable pup!!
That exactly what I do for my dogs except for most of the time I put the veggies & meat (what ever I find on sale or what ever is starting to go bad in my fridge- except for tomatoes, potatoes or onions-) in the crock pot over night and then in the morning I take out whatever bones are in it and add either brown rice, quinoa or even oatmeal to the stew and freeze what ever is left to feed through out the week. Good to see that I'm not the only one in the world who enjoy cooking for my pets! : ) After watching the documentary called "Pet Fooled" I will never feed my babies store bought dog food. I highly recommend this documentary to anyone who owns pets they really should know what your feeding your beloved pet...(you can watch it on Netflix)
Thanks for the comment! A crock pot would work great for recipes like this! I worked as a vet tech for a few years and saw many older animals with health issues that were most likely due to poor quality food. I'll have to watch that documentary just for fun. Remember, you can also feed raw foods! I give my dog raw meat and bones almost daily as well. Chicken livers, chicken feet, chicken hearts, beef liver, beef tripe, beef marrow bones, chicken wings / legs, etc.. All great and can be fed raw.
I saw "Pet Fooled" also. The triple D's within the pet food---dead, diseased and downed animals. There are several other documentaries on youtube about the pet food industry. Some people at the store think that I am a crazy nut and that I am spoiling my dogs with all of that people food. Many pet owners are brain washed by the pet food industry.
Oh my goodness what a sweet boy! He is eating so well!! Definitely going to try making food like this and freezing. For some reason I’ve never thought about leaving some in the freezer. Thanks so much for the video!!
I just saw him waiting for his food , omg how precious! Those big beautiful eyes, he was so badly anticipating that bowl of food! Im subscribing. Looking forward to seeing you cook more for him and the look on that sweet face when he gets his dinner !!
I tried your recipe and my dogs LOVE it! Your dog is so cute. He reminds me of my sweet Molly who passed away last September. She was my first min pin and was a clear red just like your dog. She was the best baby I ever had in my life. Her son, Tony, is a black and tan and he just turned 15 yo and is a first time dad of a black and tan boy who looks exactly like him. I gave Tony the first taste of your recipe and he loved it so much he demanded more. LOL. His 10 week old son, Cocoa, chowed down on it like he had never eaten before. LOL. I will look forward to making more of your recipes for my babies.
That's a good diet for a dog, I basically do this every 2 weeks for my poodle. I learned that adding cranberries and a bit of fruit such as apples and pumpkin as well as raw ground pumpkin seeds is also beneficial. I Love your beautiful dog!
Dude, you're going off-the-chain with all your videos. I love it! Keep it up! This is very educational. Been actually using a lot of your tips for my dog and he couldn't be happier with me.
thank you so much. love the advice. We’ve been told all our lives that cooking for our pets is too expensive and unnecessary. we’ve been fed the same bs that the big brands are feeding our pets. :,(
That’s because it feeds their pockets when we buy these processed products. The same way Jillian Michaels got mad at those people on the KETO diet. It empty’ Her pockets because no one will be buying her exercise regimen.
If your nervous about complete nutrition and homemade dog food, This is great as a dog food topper too! If you leave off the rice and let the stew come to gravy and turn it off. Then just add a bit to your dog's regular food. Its a great way to try your hand at it. Thanks for the info!
I m sorry to tell You this. but commercial grade dry kibble has no nutritional value in it. They cook it, at such high temps, they cook the goodness out of it. They can get by with it, but if You go all home made You and Your dog would be better off. TY.
I have two ~30lb dogs that won't touch their dry dog food. Been sustaining them on food scraps and treats for too long now. Made my first batch of healthy dog food to get these guys healthy. They had lost weight and look beat up from lack of proper nutrition. Made 4 cups of white rice in a large pot. Added kale, radish, tomatoes and a bunch of herbs from the garden. Cut uo a couple Apples and used shredded carrots from the fridge. Cut up a rotisserie chicken and mixed everything into the rice. Used some beef broth and mixed in a good canine vitamin and mineral powder along with some essential fatty acids liquid. Yields what looks to be about 4 to 5 days of food. -They scarfed it up and were licking the bowls across the room! Very easy to do and you'll feel so much better than feeding them garbage! Just use meat, rice, fruit and veggies with some canine health supplements. Cheaper and healthier than expensive dry or wet dog food too!
Awesome to hear! All I would suggest is a bit more meat, and some organ meats as well! Glad a your dogs are enjoying their healthier meals! I'm sure they are happy and will show their quality food through their healthy coats and proper weight in time :)
I cook for my 100lb American Staffordshire service dog and season for us(she will only eat once a day when we eat, but Ido leave her kibble out to graze on...☝🏻AFTER ALL, what did dogs eat beore 1940 before kibble came along🤷🏻♀️ she had bladder stones, $1800.00 surgery😣, from kibble and hard city water yet she didn't drink much water either...prescription kibble is $40/8lb bag!!! I fill her bowl daily with water from the fridge or refill gallon water jugs ~$0.35/gallon. I get protein on sale, veggies 10lb mixed clearance $2.00, brown rice and she gets fresh food every 4-5/6 days...6 qt INSTANT POT runs at least 2x weekly just for her😉👍🏻
I am going to try this today! I have been buying home made dog food for my Peek-a-poo and Malti-poo, Barney and Sydney. The lady charges 20 bucks a week but I know I can do it for a lot less and my dogs will love it. I will use a crock pot to cook it. And I have the free range eggs and shells already for the food. I;m so glad I found you on RU-vid, I have just been searching the internet and didn't really this of RU-vid. We just fixed our second fridge by looking on RU-vid! Thank you for the great ideas for the dog food!
I made it, and of course my baby loved it. I make my own bone broth, you can feel such a difference in the coat just with that! I tried raw, didn’t work out. I think this will be a better fit. Thanks again.
Thank you for showing me this video of Jack and his food. I believe I'm going to try this out for our ageing dog. The older dogs have a hard time eating kibble food. It's hard on them. So this is my next journey.
Thank you for some great ideas, it makes it so much easier to cook it all in one pot! Currently cooking up sweet potato, carrot, green beans, turkey mince, beef mince and chicken giblets!
OMG, I love your dog so much lol he made my day... he's SOOOOO excited that can't hold himself lol. Very good video, HAPPY dog, healthy food, caring and loving owner.... I've just subscribed and thumbs up ;)
Great ides starter for homemade dog food. Thanks a bunch. I've just started making my dogs food myself and made my first batch. However, when cooking the stuff up, I used sodium free beef stock instead of water. I thought it would be even more tastier that way. My Missy is eating it up like she's never eaten in a week every time I feed her the new homemade dog food. And her mommy feels better feeding it to her.
Your amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!💕💕💕 I wanted to get more active and help my dogs live a life like I do. One of my dogs doesn’t even eat his dry food anymore. I felt so bad because I knew why I mean who wants to eat dry kibble? Thank you so much for this video!
My vet said to add taurine after it’s cooked. I found out my 11 year old Havanese has a severe enlarged heart and murmur. I was shocked because I was feeding him Blue Buffalo since birth. I’ve since read that some kibbles can cause heart disease. I started making his food a couple months ago. I use an instant pot and add spinach, ground flax seed and broccoli after cooked so it just gets steamed. I freeze in reusable 8 ounce plastic containers since that’s what he needs daily. (About 16 pounds)
Jack is so adorable ,,, he just waits till you say its okay,, very intelligent dog you have.....animals are so highly intelligent ,, ,.,. my dog eats fast too ,,, so I learned something from you I was always curious why she ate so fast ,,, so making this food should be a lot of fun thanks for sharing
Angie&JP Vlogs did u make it for your Doberman? I have a 3 year old female and she's so bored with store brand food! I feel like this is more budget friendly and tastier!
ASJ_Xx yes I made it today actually! I didn’t have much meat but I had boiled chicken, eggs, egg shells, spinach and carrots in a blender, and cooked white rice. I have a 7 month old blue Doberman puppy and she loved it!!! I had a lot left over too so I feel like it is more budget friendly
I measure my dog food into muffin tins to her the right amount and freeze it, they look like hockey pucks but she loves it. You can freeze it in individual amount meals and take out what you need more easily! My dog has allergies to wheat etc. so I am not sure about the rice but will ask my vet, thanks for sharing, Be Safe!
Thanks! I will make more! I have 3 of these videos currently. Not sure if you saw just 2, or all 3. But, here is one more of them I made most recently: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4-5Ax80Mn1Q.html :)
Wow my dog is the pickiest eater EVER. When I made this recipe for her, she licked the bowl clean!! Such an easy and simple recipe. Doesn't take a huge amount of time either. My dog is like 4x bigger than your dog so this'll prob last for 3 days lol. Thanks for sharing!!!
I love this, thank you! My puppy is 5 months and he doesn’t like the dog food I bought him:( he’s so skinny and I’m sad I will try this tomorrow. Thank you. Make more. It’ll help new dog owners a lot.
I tried your last recipe only to find that my two dogs dont like steak or pork. Shredded chicken with all the veggies in bone broth and brown rice on your vids was a huge success! They actually ate the last batch by adding shredded chicken. They are happier. Shedding was reduced by a lot, and they eat it all.
Dude, he freaks me out lol. Not really, but, I agree. He totally like knows right at the 'O' sound that I am going to say 'Okay'. If I say any other 'O' word he won't go for it.
Jack is beautiful. I made this today. Something similar. I put it in the nutrabullet and made it super pate'ish. I packed it in cup cake liners and threw it in the freezer. Both my dogs liked it. I noticed my one dog's breath is getting better. I made a different recipe from another YTer, but i felt their recipe was expensive and didn't last long. Thank you.
Thank you for the great recipes. I started feeding my 9 year old Yellow Lab, Philmore your 1st recipe about a month ago because he had a skin allergy we just couldn't get rid of. Happy to report, since changing his diet it's all gone and he looks and feels the best he has in a long time. I'll try your second recipe and I'll add more rice. Thanks again! 🙂
I love and make all five of your recipes. I have 3 very big dogs and one shitzu. They all love your food. As a matter of fact they will pick out your food before tackling the raw turkey wings etc. So grateful to you 💜💜💜
Thank you. I've been hesitant to try making my own dog food, this helps me learn to be confident. About those egg shells, I never would have thought of that.
I just started making my dog food. I love it. Knowing what’s in their food it makes me feel so much better. Thank you so much for sharing your recipe. If it wasn’t for people lien you I would have no clue what to do! The only thing I wish you did differently is give measurements
What a lucky dog 💕 I cook for my dog also because she has pancreatitis. I dont think I would leave a weeks worth of food in the fridge though. You should put a days worth in seperate bags. I have a 3 day limit on how long something could stay in the fridge. All dogs should have such a caring human like you!
you could always get a 4oz=1 cup per day ( per 10lbs of dog ) ice cream scoop and freeze scoops onto parchment paper on a cookie sheet then transfer to gallon freezer bags. Can also freeze in large muffin tins and transfer from there as well. Then just take out whatever you need. Can defrost in the freezer overnight and warmed slightly in the micro a bit so it not cold.
Aww! How cute is Jack and how anxious to eat the good food daddy cook for him. Thank you for sharing this informative video. I like to add fish oil for skin and coat health.
