I just stumbled on this video while being in bed and not feeling well.I literally got out bed as soon as I watched it to make my smoothie. The video couldn't have come at a better time. I am glad I had all the ingredients at home. I added 1 teaspoon if spirulina and my smoothie came out really creamy and tasty. I started the green smoothie life september last year and I have been enjoying it. I lost about 25 lbs since then. Thank you for this video!
ALSO, CAN I STORE THE LEFTOVERS IN A MASON JAR IN THE FREEZER OR DO I STORE IN REFRIGERATOR? EITHER WAY, WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM AMT. OF DAYS THAT MY SMOOTHIE LEFTOVERS WILL HOLD ITS VITAMINS AND WILL IT STILL TASTE GOOD AFTER BEING PUT IN FREEZER OR REFRIGERATOR.?PLEASE ADVISE, NICOLE
Hi Aileen! Great question. It kind of depends. If you want to blend it and then store it, I would say 12 hours in the fridge or 3-4 days in the freezer. Just make sure you give it a good shake before consuming, as the ingredients will start to separate. However, smoothies are best consumed right away, because after about 15 minutes, some of the nutrients start to break down. If you're looking to save some time, our recommendation would be to prep smoothie ingredients in advance by preparing and freezing smoothie packs. Combine all ingredients (minus liquid base and pantry/dry items) and freeze them in freezer bags, jars or anything with an air-tight seal. These will stay good in the freezer for 30 days or more! Although it is not a smoothie, please share your recipe for the Rawstar tonic. I used it to help my daughter recover from the classic flu when she came home at Christmas. 3-4 days - she was back to normal! I froze half the recipe for use this fall again. Thanks
Thanks for sharing about your daughter- it's incredible how the tonic works so well. I am so glad you tried it! We have plans to make more videos, but for now you can check out the Rawkstar tonic recipe here simplegreensmoothies.com/recipes/green-healing/diy-natural-cold-remedy
I think that's a wonderful idea! I actually do one for myself and would love to share that with you and the rest of the rawkstar community. Thanks for sharing!
Hey Nicole, we don't have a specific time range for you to blend. It's more of just eyeing it and stopping when it looks like it's a delicious creamy texture.
Great! Glad you like the smoothie and subscribed make sure to check out our other smoothie recipes. We also have some great plant powered meal recipe videos. Thanks!
I am going to make this for my family tonight. We have a cold that's really really kicking our butts and i have everything on hand. Thanks for the recipe. :)
