This is a nice recipe. I have been on a strict diet for last 18 months and have lost 34 kgs in the first 12 months. Thereafter it is stagnating but not increasing. Weight loss has been gradual and therefore I haven’t felt any negative effect. In fact many nagging ailments due to obesity have gone. I do walk quite a bit of course, between 8k and 10 k steps every day. My sugar levels were diagnosed as pre diabetic with 7.1 HbA1c in 2021. I was not put on medication. This year in April it is 6.0 My diet is mostly low carb. No deep fried food and no white sugar. In fact I don’t eat any sweet other than adding little jaggery to coffee. Still it is very interesting and tasty diet, so I am not bored or depressed. It takes just little discipline and effort to make diet food interesting in variety and taste. I make lots of salads and soups dinner. Many options are there, both Indian and international. Easy recipes. Breakfast is normal South Indian which includes idli, dosa, upma, rotti etc. we make bisi bele bath, which is the South Indian version of kichdi. I use Poha, millets or barley in place of rice, with toor dal. I also make kichdi using Poha, millets or barley with moong dal. Slight difference in the masala. For both I add plenty of vegetables. Double the quantity of Poha + dal. I use ghee with oil. We can certainly include this in weight loss + sugar control recipe. I haven’t tried making this with oats. I will try. But I suggest we use steel cut oats which has lower GI than rolled oats, as this is supposed to be diabetic friendly recipe. Thank you for the recipe.
Mashallah great man u lose 34 kgs can u explained all day what u eat like this result u got here just dinner mentioned .....it's not easy man weight loss but did it really great man .....can u say ur weight loss journey do eats and don't eats .....i also stated cardio but not diet can u send ur diet chart please.....i try to follow up ur diet chart ....
In this recipe i mean for oats kichidi we can use normal oil i mean 1 spoon ...or it's compulsory use good fat oil like ghee, coconut oil or mustard oil or olive .. ..
@@sayedtalha2689 I am 64 years old woman. In October 2021 I was 128 kgs. By October - November 2022 I came down to 94 kgs...but since then it is hovering around 93 - 94. I still hope to lose another 10 kgs at least, but this is proving to be a little challenging. I don't know why. I don't know if what I do is intermittent fasting. I have breakfast around 9 am and dinner between 7.30 - 8 pm. Afternoon just fruits. Minimum carbs that too with idlis and dosas. No outside food. No fried food. No sugar. No sweets, period. Coffee twice a day with little jaggery. I cook all food. No outside food (rare exceptions which children and grandchildren come). I eat veg and non veg both, but increased vegetables. No rice other than what is there in dosa and idli. Usually dinner is a salad with variety of vegetables and self made light dressings and variety of soups. I have added millets to my menu and alao barley. Non veg is chicken, fish and eggs. The first two I use air fryer to cook. Some vegetables like potatoes are off the menu.😊 In Jan 2022 I was not able to walk 50 steps without pain in knees and that too needed help . I also have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism for last nearly 15 years and take low dose medication. In fact u used it as an excuse fir my weight gain but Now I walk comfortably 8000 steps every day and sometimes push it to 10000 steps. Children have made me wear fitbit to keep count. I do simple yoga (basic stretch asanas and deep breathing) for about 30 minutes in the morning. The journey has been neither easy nor difficult. I tried taking help from nutritionists twice but I found that I was eating way too much than I did before and couldn't eat like that...i did some research on diets and designed my own...what works for my body. I have mentioned the basic principles of the diet above. Just find out what each dish adds in terms of nutrition and calories and then fix what you need / want to eat. My sugar A1C was 7.3 when I started dieting and in end of April this year it is 6.0. No medication. I walk about 4k to 5k steps after dinner in the night. Rest comes during the day. Post meal walks help in regulating sugar levels.. It didn't happen overnight to put a diet and a system in place. I had to undo a lot of bad habits in the first place. I check my weight every Sunday morning and record it. Some weeks have gone up too. But the steady decrease is a big motivator. More importantly I feel good about myself, confident and more healthy in body and mind than before. That makes me enjoy the whole process and not consider it as a punishment. I hope this helps atleast some people. And I hope that I am not misusing this space.

I think u r the only chef who said "laal mirchi ka use na kre as it is not good for health " otherwise I have seen many chefs even big hotel or restaurants' chef who use red chilly powder in larger quantity .. I personally avoid using red chilly powder whether it is kashmiri or any other types.. thanks for sharing such information chef 😊 One que I want to ask Can't we use Arhar daal instead moong one??
