Won tickets to see them in Providence RI back in the fall of 1982 and they opened the show with this tune. Place went fucking nuts! To this day still one of the best shows I have ever seen.
I saw the sound check in the Pan American Center when they started the tour in Las Cruces, NM and this was the song they were sound checking! Before the sound check I caught up with the band at the Billy the Kid Saloon at the Holiday Inn in Las Cruces, NM. Ann was so cool with me even though I was only 18-19 years old she let me sit with the band and gave me all the autos I wanted. Forever love to her and the band !
I love this song, and I love Heart. A fan from their first album. Have seen them at MSG, Nassau Coliseum, Jones Beach, Meadowlands....this is one band that NEVER disappoints.
My first albums (yup vinyl) were "Little Queen" & "Houses of the Holy"... 40 (+) years later still the two I would NEED on that (virtual) Desert Island! Have to say, after growing up together with Heart, I know who they are (again)... Best thing they ever did getting away from those "Barracuda's" at Capital! We LOVE them more than ever.
I love that Ann has such quick reflexes. She is going over to the camera and Craig Bartock spins around with his guitar. Great collision detection! I love that Heart can also pull off a bit of punk rock here. I will get to see them again for the second time in less than a year in August. In my opinion they are the best band to see live. Thank you Don Jack!
"Bebe Le Strange" It's got to be you reading my letter Not your hired hand I don't know how to say it no better I love you and the band Never heard rockin' like you could Howling like you can It gets me thinking of Johnny B. Goode But you know you ain't no man When I heard you play I knew your name should be changed We're all dog panicked and you are to blame Everybody ought to call you bebe le strange You look so insane We gave you a name bebe le strange I wish I knew what you're really like A touch so shy and fine But the way you move with that guitar Just gives me other signs Here's my number give me a sign Call me back if this gets through bebe, bebe, bebe, bebe I'd never say no to you When I heard your song I knew your name should be changed Everybody ought to call you bebe le strange Under my skin you've got my mind rearranged You're so insane bebe's so strange bebe le strange
bebe le strange was the album all groups will make if they stay together long enough. the sound of a once exciting act starting to go stale. it was their version of fleetwood macs mirage. they really squandered their creative prime arguing in court over something that could have been handled in another way
Even though Ann & Nancy are the main song writers & I have always loved them but there is something called chemistry that most bands lose when original members are let go & you hire good musicians to replace them . You can't replace chemistry & I have yet to see one performance that's anywhere as good as the originals Howard ,Steve, Michael & Roger . Get them back the time is right & before they get to old. It would be a great way to end the band.
