My God Man. O_O Of your 3 attempts I've just watched, THIS one demonstrates some of the BALLSY-EST (ballsiest?) flying .. er.. SKIMMING .. across the surface of the Titan ... AND TOTAL DISREGARD for the Dual-Fire volleys as you just slip between them all, miraculously, while they totally miss you. >_< I mean, Flying cool, I get . . . but .. that sh*t is MADNESS. Like... WHOA. You're a Frickin LEGEND. =) O7 CMDR!!
The Titans turrets aim depends on the target's heat and size. They aren't very accurate with low heat and loose you at ~35%. When my ship was shut down, my heat signature quikly decreased because nothing was working, to produce any heat. After this attempt I have decided to bring a bigger ship (a repurpused AX Chieftan) with some research equipment. And managed to stay there long enough to piss off the big Titan. Later, I managed to get inside the Titan (in a non-intended way). And after that, visited the Titan in VR. You can check the other videos I uploaded to see it.
But of course it is! :D From back when the first explorers delved into one of these, and brought a Guardian Relic inside and pissed them off . . . it was practically "already known" that those "ground bases" were "motherships". HUGE _AND_ has enterable innards? Yup. Mothership. ;)
@@kerbodynamicx472 What I'm hoping is that we get on foot combat in these Titans. That would be cool to go into one on foot and have to fight Thargoids, but I highly doubt this will happen.
Oh yes... The MOMENT you spot the Dual-Fire turrets, you KNOW that a WING (or two! .. or more!!!) of CMDRs ought to be in, skimming the Titan's surface (as AlexVII does here!) and taking out the turrets, and exploiting all other "targetable" objects across the face of it.... There's GOTTA be a "weak point"; and perhaps it's literally like in ID4's final act, to send some high-power weapon up the poop-chute when it goes liquid for "pass-through". MAYBE it's time to bring a Guardian .. er... blue glowing crystalline toblerone-alike... (dammit I've forgotten!) .. and see if ejecting it into the liquid doorway will give the Titan an "allergic reaction" . . . . . though of course the greater risk is whether or not you could even get CLOSE ENOUGH whilst carrying one! >_
i would guess research limpets or mining equipment on the ship, ain't no way you'd survive 10 seconds on the surface, we barely survive 10 minutes in a ship designed for this.
@@RKSNomad Thargoid ships don't attack you on foot - only SRVs and ships. However, I was once able to hit a Cyclops Interceptor patrolling in a mountainous area with a plasma pistol: the Thargoid reacted by melting my fully engineered combat suit in mere moments (after turning) with pinpoint accuracy.
@@ALEX_VII So, the NEXT bit of Research we need is something along the lines of on-foot "heatsink" to mask our on-foot heat sig . . . . . (so as to be rendered non-targetable)
The "coarse hull surface" is similar to the structural damages on the surface sites. Perhaps these ones aren't as bad because they are mere scratches compared to the damage that the bioweapon caused on the others.
It's a good idea. Having heat below 20% and maintaining some dictance (minimum detection range is 700 m) is easily done. Unfortunately there is a "force field" when the portal is active - it pushes the ship away. So the nest thing we need to do is figure out how to open it 'for' us.
