Very few Heart fans know that they used to have a guitarist names James Chirillo. Steve mentioned him way back in 1979 in a Guitar Player Magazine interview. He said that James was really great and "...might surface someday." He did, in the world of jazz. Look up his website! He played with Benny Goodman and many other notable jazz musicians - many of whom are household names. So Heart at one point in time had a player that was more or less a world class jazzer as well as a world class rock vocalist!

The bass drum work on Barracuda is just freakin great... totally makes the song. This drummer really admires your work!

The other drummers on the Dreamboat Annie album were Dave Wilson, Kat Hendrikse, Duris Maxwell, and even Mike Flicker who is a drummer, played percussion on Magic Man...

To comment now is somewhat of a buzz-kill for me looking back upon how things when down with them. They imho lost the best of themselves whenever the dismantling of Heart was occurring in the late '70s and early '80s. Whenever they kicked out Roger and then later Michael and Steve they for all intents and purposes ceased being Heart ❤ and morphed into the Corporate Hit Machine called Heart. That was an incredible emotional 🎢 🎢 rollercoaster that they put themselves (Ann and Nancy) and it made them vulnerable to fall into the clutches of these men whom made them undergo the transformation to being just a name.

For me, top 3 for that version of Heart is Dreamboat Annie Dog and Butterfly Little Queen. I actually like Jupiter’s Darling more than the latter 2, however.

Fossen didn't really answer the question about how the band's dynamic changed when both Wilson sisters were in the band. Here, he said that things were fine at first with Ann, but he didn't say how that changed when Nancy joined (when there were two women/sisters in the band). I think this was just a small part of an interview, so I wonder if he actually fully answered the question. I've heard him say in other interviews that Ann wanted more and more control of things.
