Hahaha oh the memories. Specially the end credits. I’d just be sat there quiet hoping I’d get to stay up a bit later until me mam or dad would say “right come on mr, bedtime. School in the morning”
I used to watch this in my grandmother house when I was a kid when we'd visit on Sundays. She died in 2013 and I miss her a lot. Big nostalgia from the theme song tho
Oh the memories from early 2000's, family gathered around the livingroom watching Aidensfield! My father used to howl with laughter because of Mr. Greengrass. Love from Northern part of Norway.
man, this gives me strong childhood flashbacks. I randomly saw the show on the television a couple of days ago and when i heard this song, i was very surprised and happy. What a blast from the past!
this song means the world to me. i have memories of me and my grandma sitting together watching this. every night i was with her we would always watch it. i remmeber sitting on her lap and she would sing it and bounce her leg to the beat making me jump and i would find it the funniest thing ever. i really wish i could watch one more episode with her :/
Makes me think of my dear nan as well, she died when I was quite young but would watch this in the arm of her armchair along with only fools and horses, vicar of Dibley and other shows xxx
My gramp passed a few weeks ago, and this was the theme of my memories with him. Every Sunday night sat in bed and he'd let me stay up to watch with him and hearing it again just out the biggest smile on my face.
My heart sank every Sunday just at the very moment of 00.00 to 00.06. I can actually remember it going down to my stomach. "Right, bed." It was the fact you remembered you has school. I still hate Sundays.
This theme song on a Sunday evening was like an alarm.. it meant the weekend was finished and school in the morning haha 😆 Was talking to a work colleague whose son is the same age as me and she said he would say the same thing. But when she heard the theme song she knew it was her time to relax with tea and biscuits.
Loved watching this with my great grandfather. He took me to the filming location on a "bus trip from a newspaper add" oh the good old days. I feel old and I'm only 29
My family is half Turkish and half English and i remember some nights when me and my siblings slept round our grandparents house (nan is Turkish grandad is English) mainly we stayed there for family issues at home and i remember being so moody when this came on and my little sister threw a fit because she knew it was time for bed😂 the memories last forever!❤
I genuinely feel bad. So much time and effort went into this series and now an entire generation will forever detest it, myself included, as the harbinger of the weekend apocalypse.
It's interesting to hear from those who remember this signalling the end of the weekend. For those of us who greaw uo in the 70s and early 80s it was Last of the Summer Wine that held that role!!
This remind me of childhood when I use to stay with my dad on weekend when he use to drop me home I use to watch it before bed Love you mum and dad 🎉 0:24 ❤
I used to love watching this series. I had no idea why and i still don’t know why. I just enjoyed it. Used to watch it with my step-granny whenever it was on. Good times.
Funny isn’t it, how back to school anxiety was a common phenomenon among people who watched this on Sunday nights, including myself. I’m fairly sure something about the title of the show might have subtly influenced it 🥴😆
