Those initial conditions were exactly what you needed to do. I watched Trump's first "F2P" videos, and the first thing he did was disenchant almost every card he got (after a MONTH's worth of play, and a fuck ton of Arena runs), and create, of all things... Quest Rogue. How. Boring. Thank you Toast, for showing an F2P player that I will be able to do it, one day. I've climbed to Rank 13/14 this season with MR Hunter, and I hope, with a little refinement, that I'll be able to go higher next season. I just now need to work on reducing the levels of salt I generate while I play...

Even with a premium deck i think it's the grind that is needed in order to reach Legend that makes it so people stop midway through tbh :/

This is a much better way than Trump is doing it. Basically excluding arena, because a new f2p person won't be able to do well. This is especially the case in his latest f2p run; it almost immediately turned into "Can quest rogue make it to Legend?" Of course it can, and I don't care to watch that. Trump's Priest f2p run was _really_ good. I got a whole new appreciation for Stranglethron Tiger. We were never upset to see him. Just solid.

And some people cant get past rank 25 with nearly all cards lol

It was not about your skill but you cannot rule it out. Toast you have a great mind, and not just for Hearthstone. It takes experience to make the right plays consistently. That requires practice and learning. That is the real price.

I'm a casual HS player who never got past rank 17. A friend of mine showed me this video and I got from rank 18 to 15 in less than an hour using this deck. I tried several budget decks but this one is the best by far! I've been playing HS occasionally for years, but this is the first time I really believe that getting as far as rank 10 is possible for me. Thanks for this video, Toast! Keep being awesome!

It really is nice to know that you can still hit legend with hardly any cards. Just goes to show that with some practice and some luck, you can make it up there. Tired of always hearing that you need the all the best cards, the legendaries, and a boatload of money to make it anywhere in this game. Good on ya Toast! This is really inspiring :)

I love this! I have been stuck in 20, recently just got to 17, because all my cards had no synergy or needed more cards I couldn't get because of bad card packs or lack of dust. This really helps toast, screw anyone else who said other wise.

I'm f2p (mostly lol) and this video did inspire me to play ranked. I've always felt that because I don't put money in, I could never be good, but now I at least want to try it. So... thanks from a small f2p

I'm free to play and I have a full elemental shaman and jade druid with legendary and epic cards (I also have a deathrattle hunter that I tried but it's not really relevant as priest is best for this)

Thanks for this. The grind of f2p without a constructed deck is miserable, and discouraging for new players. I quit the game last year due to the grind, but have come back with a budget aggro hunter built by RegisKillbin and am enjoying the game more than ever. I'd love to see more budget videos and specific deck strategies to aid others in the climb. Also, saving 1400 gold for the One Night stories is doable for f2p to get Kindly Gmas, I think, working toward it now.

I made it to rank 10 on my first ever push in hearthstone with this deck, took about a week and 120 wins. I wasn't excpecting to make it past rank 15 with my first f2p push so thank you!

You inspired me to do something with the goals of achieving legend just using card combos and interactions, with effort and understanding of this game. I have never donated money into Hearthstone or any other f2p/ptw. But I reached legend on my 13th season with my own Malygos Rogue build. Right before Un'goro came out. I simply proved to myself that this is possible.

My brother was kinda depressed that he couldnt get any higher than 20rank so I sent him this video intending to inspire him since we are not able to spend money on games, now hes trying so hard he reached 16 now ! and hes willing to get to 10rank at least ! Not aiming to legend yet because its hard playing with a f2p account while having no experience since we are new to it but oh well , we are gonna get there next season prolly ! This was a good clip, what made it great for me was a second tab with some smooth jazz!

It just goes to show that while having the best cards definitely helps, there's no replacement for skill and putting the time in. I usually make it to ~10 if I am trying to climb, and it's nobody's fault but my own that I don't go higher. Lack of time to play and just not being as good as Toast. No shame in it, just means I need to improve if I want to climb. Thanks for the demo, Toast! You're the best.

I never usually used Hunter on ranked, tried a couple of times and just got shmeated but my main is Mage which does alright on ranked but I had alot of dust left so decided to go ahead and make this deck, jumped straight into ranked and won my first game and now I am down to 16, thank you, never thought i would ever have this much fun playing a Hunter Deck haha cheers :P

This was awesome. Thanks. The reason I still don't feel inspired to play ladder though is that the rewards are garbage and the repetition is boring. I don't feel like going back and counting, but it sounded like you said you played 200-250 games to climb to legend. That is only a 550 dust reward. If you played that many arena games and you were good at it, you could make like 100 times as much dust.

I really like what you have done. it does inspire me. Just a little note that IMO, this kind of climbing with F2P deck is good once in a while. Normally I would love to see your ordinary content more than this grinding. However, what you just done is really awesome.

Toast, I've been playing Hearthstone F2P since Blackrock and this was the first month I actually tried to go for legend. I used a blend of your F2P Hunter and a slightly more refined Control Priest. I got to rank 5 easily, but have since played about 200 games with the Hunter and the Priest. I've made decent techs to the decks I've been facing, but I always seem to end up where I started even after playing for 4 hours or so. I'm not the best player, but I try to look back on my losses and see what I could have done to possibly make it a win. The problem I'm facing is that I can't find any other plays i could have made in most of the games to give me any greater chance of winning. The Hunter deck seems to require going first in many matchups, or the game is lost no matter how good of a starting hand you get. I know there are some games that are unwinnable but still, is there anything I could do to up my chances of winning? Thanks for your time.

I actually gave a second chance to this game when I watched this video. I discovered this game when GvG came out, and was playing til the end of 2016 or something, and in the end i blamed the RNG and P2W and dropped it, but this video showed me that it wasn't rng or that someone has the cards i don't have, but i am just trash. Thank you for revealing the truth, hope to get somewhere further than rank 12. i guess this game will just never leave me alone

The most important thing to be a winning player is probably knowing what you are likely up against which is very difficult to do without a ton of experience.

So the ppl who are telling you that it's a fake and you're using different decks just don't listen to them and don't care! Nice video!
