Some more tips if you have really course heat-resistant hair like mine: - blow-dry your hair as straight as you can get it before you flat iron (I start with the tension method on thoroughly detangled hair, then brush) - use good products that will prevent reversion, like biosilk - do braid-outs on your straight hair when the roots start to thicken up (sleep with the plaits in) - don't be afraid to straighten 2x a month instead of 1x if you need to (i.e. to deep condition 2x a month, to clean your hair if you workout a lot, etc...) - flat iron your hair on a temperature that will actually straighten your hair... don't do it on a super-low temperature to "avoid damage" because this will not only prevent heat training, but it'll cause you to have to manipulate your hair more often during the week
@@LoveBran189 Yes! I workout very often. I put my hair in a high ponytail or bun to make sure it doesn't get wet. I also oil my scalp a massage it in my roots a bit to avoid them puffing up.
Thank you so much for this video! I'm just now learning about this hair training stuff. My ex boyfriend who was Dominican used to tell me about this, but I didn't quite believe nor did I understand what he meant by that. Great job explaining everything. You deserve a shit ton of followers. Keep up the good work!
Great Informative video. I've found that a hair steamer off eBay or a hot head (microwave hest cap) is better than a hooded dryer. Both are cheaper and a hot head/heat cap you can microwave lets you move around the house while deep conditioning.
Do a part 2 please. My hair is in a TWA phase right now. But, I'm growing it out and would really love to heat train my hair and all the tips will be of utmost help.
Not trying to be rude but how do y'all keep your scalp or hair from smelling? Or are you not aware of it? I wash/dc my hair once a week and since it's winter I've been straightening with the flat iron once a week on very LOW heat, no blow dryer. My hair is thick but it straightens easily in small sections. It still has silkiness, shine and bounce but by wash day I can smell it a little I couldn't imagine going a month!
Thanks for this video :D i will start the Heat trained journey like in december~january i think and your video are SO helpfull! I dont know if i could have a hood dryer :( my budget is small and i have already for 80€ of products to buy :( its a lot for me ahah Anyway, really you are the best :D
ONCE SONE I use a Hot Head deep conditioning cap. You microwave it for 2.5 minutes and wear it. Also, if you wear one of those silver deep conditioning caps they work okay. It traps your body heat in. It was like $4 at Sally Beauty Supply in the USA.
I've also heard of wetting a towel, putting it in the microwave until it gets warm and then wrapping it over your hair (once it has conditioner and plastic cap on it) and letting it sit until it cools!
