I loved everything about this conversation! Thank you Heather for sharing your story, your golden nuggets and your deeply conscious Self. And yes! I would MUCH rather talk to someone that has been through this journey, than someone with a fancy license that knows very little about how mindbody science works!

Another spectacular interview. Giving people hope. Which calms the nervous system! Heather's husband gave me advice and encouragement that helped me overcome ankylosing spondylitis. After my genetic testing and finding out many relatives had this "condition" their whole life my symptoms skyrocketed. But looking back.. going to doctors appointments constantly, hearing these damning stories from relatives and online groups.. I was just throwing gas on an already blazing shit-inferno of fear!! You can turn on these "genes" on- then you definitely can turn them off. There are 1000s of us that have Great story Heather. This is amazing. And glad you guys touched on benzo withdrawal. That shit is harddd but your body is so smart and will come back to homeostasis Feel your feelings. Trust your body. Let go

Just ordered the book! I loved the 'Why are you feeling X' and then ask five times. Im about to journal on a load of things that have come up in the last few days as I've quit smoking last week and things are very raw. Great interview, thank you both!

@theseventh5204 good for you!!! I also quit in the beginning of my journey because I would have panic attacks after a smoke. It got out of hand🫠

@@mindful__gardener Last time I went to buy a pack, your voice was in my head saying 'like a bomb going off in the nervous system' and I asked myself whether I wanted to do that or not. I said 'no' and didn't buy them. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

Wow I love her story!!! I can resonate so much with not feeling safe. In therapy they always ask why don’t you feel safe? And I still don’t know! I guess I neee to do more digging!!

Thank you both for sharing your experience! Did Heather was able to stop taking the thyroid medication during the recovery process or after she recovered?
@Painfreeforgood7
@Painfreeforgood7 2 месяца назад
Yes, I was able to fully stop taking all medication within a short period of time after discovering and understanding the Mindbody connection. I had to be in a place of fully trusting and understanding how the emotion had been repressed long before the symptoms showed up.

@@Painfreeforgood7Thank you for your response! You give me more confidence to gradually discontinue to take the thyroid hormone medication. After the perfect storm( allergic reaction to antibiotic) I was diagnosed with first Hashimoto and later on with Fibromyalgia . It took me couple years to find out by myself that the root problem of my symptoms is maladaptive stress response in the nervous system. The medication didn’t alleviate any of my symptoms. I am starting to feel better by practicing mindbody approach, I am on the right path.

@@dariam4246So happy to hear this! If only more people knew how impactful stress is on the body we would see a huge decline in needing healthcare. We are all fully capable of healing any ailment. We just have to first understand why it started and then make the emotionally changes necessary🙏🏼

Hey Helmut, I disagree with some of this. So many people has a wildly different experience with covid and long covid. Saying that it's almost nothing because it was easy for you is directly the equivalent of people who says the me/cfs doesn't exist, because they don't know what it is.
@mindful__gardener
@mindful__gardener 2 месяца назад
@alexandrecouture2462 what I was saying is the reason people have different experiences all depends on how full their allostatic loads are and where the baseline sits. That's why some people can process it easier then others. Same with colds, flus, reactions, symptoms, sensitivities. Having a cold is also a great way to know where you're at.

it is understandable to feel the need to be seen as someone who had a serious illness or still has strong symptoms considering the suffering involved with these conditions. In the long run this mindset won't be helpful though. The nervous system will keep sending symptoms as long as we stick to the view that something terrible is wrong with us. I know this is triggering and most people fight this view in early stages... sorry!

Also, our immune system takes a hit everytime we experience any kind of stress. It’s interesting to correlate colds/covid in comparison to what is going on in our personal lives. Curiosity is a fun alternative to fear!
