This is the movie that made everyone realize just how ridiculously hot Christian Slater is. There will never, ever be another character like Jason Dean!
"Yeah what did you BOYFRIEND say.....?" Ha Ha.......This movie was ahead of it's time with how it dared to depict high school in such an unflattering and realistic way.
anyone who says being a teenager is the best time of your life is lying to your face, being a teenager sucks and i’d say i can’t wait to be an adult but being an adult seems worse ngl
Veronica: This may seem like a really stupid Question JD: There are no stupid Questions Veronica: You Inherit five million dollars the same day aliens land on the earth and say there gonna blow up the earth in two days What do you do? JD: That is the stupidest Question I've ever heard
I have this theory that Veronica wasn't the only one who was helping JD with the killings. I think he was in cahoots with the teacher Pauline Flemming. Hear me out both she and JD's reactions to the "suicides" are quite similar, i.e they both rejoice in the deaths of the popular kids but have no sympathy for them. There's also an interesting bit after Veronica fakes her suicide only JD and Ms Flemming are surprised to see her alive but nobody else was surprised meaning JD had only told her (the fact that he would tell anyone at all is out of character for him) and she in turn had apparently not told anybody else, not even other members of faculty which is suspicious. Then that got me thinking that *maybe* she's in fact his supposedly dead mother! She's the right age and suicide by walking into an exploding building is a good way to stage one's demise. If you put a blonde wig on Pauline she would look like the picture of JD's mother. That's just my theory anyway.
Good theory but only one hole in it. Her overtly hippie attitude would cause her to go through great lengths to force J.D. to relinquish all fire-arms and explosives.
I don't think so. And Fleming react the way she did, because she didn't actually cared. She just used the "suicides" for her propaganda. But so did everyoby else - exploited their deaths.
Yeah and how easily everyone just accepted the story they were secretly gay and had shot eachother when JD had just pulled a gun on them recently in the cafeteria. No one attributed the sudden rise in deaths to his moving to the area.
“Greetings and salutations” Tbh I just love the way he says it, JD is definitely one of my favourite characters. He had the best quotes “Chaos is what killed the dinosaurs, darling” and also, he was also hilarious, especially when he is getting insulted “they seem to have an open policy on assholes though” 🥺
dear lord the 80s dialogue (and everything else.. the shoulderpads lol). 5 mil and 2 days to enjoy it? this is the kind of situation i've prepared for my entire life. obviously i would buy lots of different kinds of personal vehicles and watercrafts; waverunner, speedboat, sportscar(s).. actually come to think of it.. if aliens come and try to wipe everyone out, would say, being in the middle of the ocean on your swanky private yacht make it more difficult for them to find you and vaporize you? i guess it depends on what kind of aliens and what technology they have.. if they did like a reverse terraforming thing or something then i guess it wouldn't matter. but in that case you could just spend all your money on a fully stocked underground bunker with oxygen life support systems right? and of course an ASUS gaming PC loaded up with like every game in existence and a massive DVD library.. and generators with enough gas to last a long damn time.. come to think of it, i wouldn't mind doing that even if there wasn't an alien apocalypse.
Aastha Shakya I'd like to add my two cents to those possibilities. I'm guessing that Sherwood's a small town and never had multiple suicides, or murders in this case, each of them being highly recognized popular students. Heather C. there would've been some investigation if they took prints off the cup she drank from. But because she was a popular girl they wouldn't have guessed someone killed her. As for Kurt and Ram, Veronica and JD wiped their prints off the guns they used so, there goes another investigation. Plus this murder aka double suicides surrounded the idea of not being accepted due to their sexual preferences, another reference to our crisis with teens and adults a part of the LGBT community.
noooo.. More popularity means more hate. Even the suicide notes had fingerprints all over it. Every dead body should have a post mortem carried out. Everything comes out of it. The movie was shot in the 80s so they did not think this through.
@@weluvb5 you might be right about why the police wouldn't investigate Heather's murder. Sure, Veronica's fingerprints might be on the poisoned cup, but it's not concrete evidence of her guilt. More specifically, since Veronica and the victim were friends - and since Heather was popular at school - you would expect Veronica's prints to be on the cup regardless if she killed Heather or not. HOWEVER, Kurt and Ram's murders should have raised some red flags with the police. Extracting the bullets from the bodies would prove that Kurt and Ram were killed by two different guns, yet only one gun was found at the scene. If JD was smart, he would have filed off the registration number so that the police wouldn't track the recovered weapon back to him. If the lack of a second gun wasn't enough, any competent forensic analyst could tell that neither of the gunshot wounds were self-inflicted. - powder burn tests could tell that they were both too far away. Even if one shot the other before himself, his arm would have had to be impossibly long and flexible. - the position and angle of the gunshot wounds lean towards someone else shooting both victims as opposed to extremely awkward self-inflicted wounds - if any witnesses were around, they would have heard three gunshots - yet only two bullet wounds on two different victims. That would mean that one of the bullets missed. If only the cops were a bit smarter, Veronica would have been on death row for triple murder.
I fucking love JD like fr. I dont care if hed blow up the school. He seems so caring but if u make the wrong move then it triggers him but i wouldnt let that happen. Hes so sweet and funny and his voice MY GOD
omg hes so cute and charming and sweet and its SOOOO veronicas fault that shes not you because you would never let him blow up a school maybe thats veronicas fault actually hahaha ha?
I still don't get the Bo Diddley reference. Is there another Bo Diddley besides the musician with the square guitar? Either way, so sad J.D. Turned out to be a psycho, he was definately the coolest guy in the school. Why do all the good ones have something wrong with them?
+Gazdatronik Yeah that's what I'm getting. Johnny Cash wore a lot of black and was mysterious...just like JD....but those two meatheads who combined don't have the mind capacity to solve a maze on the back of a cereal box...got the name and musician wrong.
+agenttheater5 I think it was simply that the jocks were idiots and didn't know who Bo Diddley was. They'd heard the name and the name sounded cool so they just applied it to this situation.
The only thing I never understood was why Heather Chandler disliked JD. Don't get me wrong there are plenty of reasons to. However in this case, she doesn't know he's a killer and anytime Veronica shows a hint of interest, she tries to drag her away from him. I woulda thought she wanted him but you can tell by the glare in her eye that she hates his guts.
Shanethefilmmaker It's mostly the whole "we don't associate with anybody who isn't popular" mentality, it's why Heather Chandler wouldn't hang out with the "geeks" and even says at some point during the cafeteria scene to Veronica, and she hates that Veronica is defying that mentality after "taking her in".
Shanethefilmmaker It's also like how most situation goes, Heather and her lackeys were top dogs in school, JD was a wild card; someone who didn't give a fuck about their social standing in school. For pe do people like Heather, people like JD are trouble because they recure to stay in line and see her for what she thinks she is. JD is a badass who didn't give a fuck, not to Heather or those jocks.
"My sax." Hang up, sax means saxophone, right? So movie!JD has a saxophone and the musical didn't take advantage of this? For shame! Just imagine JD breaking out a saxophone solo in the middle of Meant To Be Yours
@@Blaineiskindagay JD: "I was meant to be yours, we were meant to be one, dont give up on me now, finish what we've begun... SAXOPHONE SOLO!" (JD starts killing it on the sax while)
Bruh I'm a girl and I asked my sister "Have you ever thought of burning down a building?" As a joke and she was like "You sound like jd!" Like bruh I'm a girl
