I love how you use all these newfangled power tools with laser levels and x-ray vision and super Hi-Tech gadgets and bells and whistles, yet you still use an old school folding wooden ruler to do your measuring. That is just awesome.

Awesome, I'd suggest painting or sealing the ends that touch the floor, to protect against moisture. It didn't look like pressure treated lumber.

I'm a storage nut myself. At our cabinet shop, we use the WoodMaster app to calculate exact spacing for any kind of shelving and storage space. You did a really nice job on the details! Nice work.

Those are some sturdy shelves, and very well cinematographised. You know what I mean. Thanks for sharing, Laura!

Not how I'd do it but looks nice and functional, I like the design. One bit of advice from a hobby carpenter: take some coarse sandpaper (like 80 grit or so) and smooth out the shelf borders, freshly cut OSB has quite a sharp edge and nasty little splinters that can easily stick into your fingers.

Your new storage area didn't take long to be filled. That was a nifty idea how you installed the horizontal members by creating the empty space for them. 😎 Never would've thought of that idea.

There are much simpler strongarm shelving supports you can make that can carry a fantastic amount of weight. I wish I could dig up some photos of the ones I built in my last shop (this shop has tons of storage without them)...

Hi Laura: Long time viewer. Here's a little tip for the next time time you use swedged anchor bolts into concrete. To avoid any thread damage when pounding the bolts into concrete, use two locked nuts at the end of the bolt where the end of the bolt is just below the top of the second nut. This will prevent any thread damage to the end of the bolt and provide you with a lager surface area to hammer the anchor bolt. Keep up the great work and love this wood storage rack. Best - Michael

Awe Laura, you did it again! Blew my mind and all former ideas for my garage shelving are destroyed with only yours in mind ;) Very impressed, I’ve been procrastinating as usual because I can’t decide on a mitre station and shelving system to go with it... I think this design nailed it for me. I don’t want the traditional mitre station that’s become so popular, yes I like the concept but I’m not advanced in anyway, shape or form enough to need kitchen cabinets with drawers galore in my “wannabe” shop. Lol, yours isn’t kitchen cabinets/drawers galore “oh my”; it’s freakin better! It’s sophisticated in your usual style. Nothing usual about it but you always seem to make the typical shop project classy and sassy and I’m all about it!!! Anyways I’d love to see your take on a mitre station, although you have one already made which was shown at the beginning, however, I’m curious what you’d come up with because I already know it’d differ in ways that I can’t imagine but only hope too! Ps: Random! I noticed you love your pooch like I adore mine!... this summer I was way too sick 😷 to be able to build but it didn’t stop me from dreaming. Anyways, you build the sweetest things for your fur baby and I’ve always wanted to build something for mine, my dream = a pooch jungle gym system for my two Aussies that need vertical space to run and jump and climb up high so they can see all without jumping over my 8’ft fence, 🤦🏻‍♀️ lol anyways I’ve seen fabulous play areas made purely out of wood, rock, and some recycled materials but the point is it’s built for a dogs capabilities of playing, jumping over stuff, climbing realistic rocks or wooden platforms (reminds me of goat jungle gyms) I’ve even seen semi underground holes for them to run through or hide in with a neat hill like top that they can climb up. One of the newest is a wooden platform that’s angled enough to be like a hill yet challenging the dogs to use their muscles to climb up. I adore Pet Cribs from animal planet, however they never show enough detail of the builds for me to grasp some of their concepts. You have tons of space, so far you’re the only builder besides April that builds houses and pools, bike basket/car thingy that attaches to your bike... loved it! If you see this, thanks for sharing so much and FYI, loved the maker series with your guests at your new home/shop! Was such a lovely collection of beautiful builds 🤟🏽

Schönes Regal. Sehr gut finde ich auch wie hier die vorhandenen Element genutzt werden und eben nicht alles Plan abgeflext wird. :) Doch seien mir hier noch zwei Tipps erlaubt. Das Senken bekommt man sicherlich schneller mit einem größeren Bohrer hin. Auch ist es empfehlenswert bevor man auf ein Gewinde (Betonanker) mit dem Hammer haut, eine Mutter aufzudrehen. Bei einer möglichen Beschädigung des Gewindes kann so durch losdrehen der Mutter, der entstandene Grad einfach abgehoben werden.

Schönes Regal!!! Möchte nicht Klugscheißen, aber wenn man die Schlagankerlöcher tiefer bohrt wie der Anker selbst ist, kann man ihn (wenn man mal alles wieder abbaut) zurück ins Loch schlagen und wieder "verschwinden" lassen. Ist feiner wie abschneiden.. 😉👍
