Turban displays a magnificent technical ability that surpasses description.

So clear! All the different violinists always make this piece so colorful with their own phrasing, and this one is really good!

They are even harder than Paganini !

Turban's virtuosity is astounding 👏👏👏

beginning of etude 2 reminds me of like, christmas in the 1950s. like what a jolly tune ha love it

excellent playing, it is very hard to make this pieces sound like music when there are so many difficulties and uncomfortable positions to go through

on his Ernst CD there are quite a few of other Ernst gems like Othello fantasie, Rondo Papageno and the Erlkönig !

Gotta give it to Ernst, there's a harmonic richness and elegance that paganini almost never has. It's no Mahler, sure, but it's something!

Maybe the guitar version can make it a little easier !

Although they are technically very difficult, they don't work very well as a performance piece, they're very much Etudes to test your patience. Paganini Caprices offer a different type of difficulty, but are somehow more musical and easier on the ear than these.
