Bellatrix .. she put makeup on... got a white dress... dyed her hair... and got a new wand... then tricked Cinderella into going to the ball ... Sneaky Bellatrix :>
Cinderella Style FairyGodmother: * Swishes wand at Cinderella * Now off you go for you shall go to the ball Harry Potter Style Bellatrix: * Swishes Wand at Cinderella * AVADA KADAVRA!
It's only a modern interviewer who would make a point of mentioning it. Otherwise it probably be unremarkable. In case there is someone who would be offended.
My mind went in the gutter when she was talking about being "turned on" by a guy who went under her dress... at first I didn't know what she was talking about XD
I actually loved the movie so much. I think it attracted the adults more than the kids (perharps that's the intention?). We were at the theater and the kids just ran around or doing whatnots while the adults were so attentive to the movie. It's probably the Disney live action that I loved so far.
seems a very interesting person. I've been a fan and have loved her acting for years. In this film however didn't like a few closeups of her, and didn't like her makeup in one scene or her reading in one scene ("for you SHALL go to the ball" emphasizing with her eyes, didn't work for me and I think the director should've gone with a different take), but I like her work generally. The closeups were, I'm guessing, not her doing as I assume the director chooses his shots, and when she's giving instructions to Cinderella as Cinderella sits in the carriage about to leave for the ball, I didn't like the super tight closeup on the fairy godmother (director's mistake), but overall, even with these specific dislikes, I really enjoyed the film and Ms. Carter's work in it. It just goes to show that no matter how talented an actress is, if a makeup person doesn't do your makeup just so, or if a lighting person doesn't light you just so, or if a director can't or won't direct you properly, then your performance can be overshadowed. Helena Bonham Carter is a great actress, has decades of acting experience and has been outstanding since almost the beginning of her career. Should've been easy for the director to look at dailies/video playback and ask her to tone down her "for you shall go to the ball" line. Someone should've noticed that one of her eyebrows was improperly arched in a scene, and that the eye liner was too dark on her, and I don't know enough about lighting, but somebody should've taken a look at the dailies/video playback and noticed these things and corrected them. Why these errors in a hundred million dollar plus film were allowed to stand I'll probably never know.
I agree! I also think her natural beauty is being overshadowed by too much make up and special effects. She is a beautiful woman and there was no need for all that extra, I didn't recognize her in the movie.
It´s kind of weird, I just watched the movie because of Frozen Fever (I wanted to see that short film) and now I love the movie. I didn´t expected it! I thought it´s gonna be boring, but it´s so beautiful, and she´s a good fairy Godmother :)
