He's BACK!!!! ~ That smile on your face as you started your lift off preliminaries... said a lot! Can't wait to see more of L.A.!! My MMmmm list (Micah Muzio list) 1) I used to live on Holbertson in Simi Valley - Bard Reservoir would be cool. 2) The region around Paramount Ranch/Malibou Lake including 3) Malibu Creek - (the old MASH SET) 4) Malibu Safari (Where the Giraffe stays off Kanan) 5) The Bachelor House (Off Kanan) 6) The Getty Villa (Getty's original house/his old zoo/& his burial spot) I have SOOOOO many... but this is a fun start! LOVE your channels!!
If you ever get around Palos Verdes, I would love to see you shoot some video. I spent a lot of time in PV in the 60's 70's, and 80's. I love that Hill. San Pedro is also one of my favorite places. Thanks Micah. Love flying with you.
Hey Micah, thank you for posting a video regarding scheduled maintenance on your beautiful Enstrom. Also, nice shirt! Question: I noticed the mechanic stated it was a 100 hour annual inspection. Are most of the scheduled maintenance tasks on your Enstrom 280C based off flight hours (as apposed to flight cycles and/or calendar intervals) ?
Smoothest Enstrom 😄 Jose knows his stuff. If I had a rotary aircraft, and I lived near Chino, I too would take it to CRM. I might have missed this, but is Jose a licenced rotary pilot? Glad to see you so happy Micah. I hope the total cost didn't give you nightmares!
Good to see it back! The plane I just bought had it's annual in July so it's good for almost an entire year. I did also buy some Flying eyes and of course used your code to save some $$$$$!! I can't wait to start flying my own airplane after the required insurance hours all over the USA. I hope you can take us even further in future Episodes, Big Bear etc!
I work in Commerce, CA. There's a heliport (Commerce Business Park) and a small municipal airport very nearby, and it's not far from Long Beach, so I see a LOT of helicopter traffic when I'm outside. Since you seem to fly all over L.A. and O.C., every time I hear a helicopter, I look up to see if it's your Enstrom!
Micah, glad you are back in business. Your bird looks great. Guess you and the family will be eating peanut butter & jelly sandwiches for a while to pay off that bill! 😁
Please fly over Manhattan Beach, west bound over Manhattan Beach Blvd., and Polliwog Park. I will take a photo of you as you approach MBB and Redondo Ave. in Manhattan Beach. I would like to take a flight with you. I was in a 10 minute chopper ride about 41 years ago. That was cool!
To be honest, "Creative Rotorcraft Maintenance" doesn't strike me as the most confidence-inspiring name for a business. It conjures up images of improvised field repairs performed with duct tape and bailing wire.
Micah, for your camera mounts in all your videos you use double suction mounts (or a dual suction cup base, as RAM would call it). Why do you prefer this over the single suction cup?

N I C E !!!!! , better make sure you pay this bill , he's a big boy....😎
For anyone wondering why aviation maintenance takes so long and every part has to be shipped in, regulations require each part to be accounted for and logged, from the factory to installation. You don't want to use grey-market parts to save money when you're fixing an airplane or helicopter. A mechanic who used a military surplus sprag clutch on a civilian Enstrom and didn't lube it properly caused the death of Jane Dornacker of WNBC in 1986. It's one thing for a crappy Dornan part to leave you on the side of I-5; it's another for a bad part to make your engine stall at 1,500 feet AGL.
Jonathan, this is an excellent synopsis. That Jane Dornacker crash was tragic, especially because it was avoidable. Flying is expensive but with my family aboard it's worth the cost.
How much does a *typical* annual run for a 280? Also have you ever thought about trading up for an FX? I've been casually shopping Enstroms after flying all kinds of types (ranging from mil rotorcraft to R44) and think they are just the coolest helos but am on the fence between a 28C/28F or a 280C/280FX. Inputs?
If it weren't for big ticket upgrades, my annuals would only be a few thousand bucks. Last year was ADS-B. This year was a main rotor gearbox. Based on my bird's component times, future annuals should be relatively cheap. Regarding 280FX vs 280C, I've flown both. There's a slight increase is gross weight plus the addition of a correlator with the FX but I honestly prefer the uncorrelated throttle on my 280C. When you pull up collective you roll on throttle. Easy peasy. With the correlator, it often times overcompensates, requiring a slight roll off when pulling pitch. I'm sure you could get used to either but I found it a little counterintuitive. By coincidence, I might be selling my 280C for something a little larger. Shoot me a DM on Instagram if your curious. @micahmuzio Cheers!
If ur going to Malibu, can u please fly over the mash TV show set in Malibu creek state park and maybe the site of the cliff where Tony Stark mansion is depicted in Iron Man

Very nice. Is this your first annual? Others ha e asked, but would mind dropping a ball park cost? I used to fly for the Navy and currently fly a small fixed wing but have my eye on an Enstrom.
can you fly over Cher's house which is apparently a compound in Malibu? better yet come to Calgary Alberta Canada to pick me up because we have snow and it's warm there lol I find these videos very interesting and I like that censor bird
are the FX cowl inlets authorized to be installed? with the engine analyzer are all the original engine indications system components installed and operational. was this the same bird that had a tail strike at long beach?
No but Enstroms do have a tendency to rock on the ground. It’s due to the design of the rotor head. The blades have nothing to keep the lead/lag hinges centered. So it rocks. To manage their inherent rocking behavior on the ground Enstrom uses an oleo strut skid design. Those struts actually make it very difficult to create true ground resonance.
@@MicahMuzio I use live in San Gabriel and Bakersfield. I did visit San Gabriel in 2015, but I haven't been to Bakersfield since 1995. I hope you get to do that.
