It's basically a series of circular saw blades attach to a glorified worm drive that spins all the blades, powered by a 28 hp engine at the top of the shaft. A 90 foot long boom is attached to the aerial saw, that attaches it to the helicopters. There's lots of RU-vid videos showing how the whole opperation works, from hook up to landing.
