I'm a presolo helicopter pilot and love all of this. I have about 2,000 total time flying almost every category recognized by the FAA but helicopters are so cool.

What helicopter are ya'll flying in in this video? Just from the cockpit, it looks like an Enstrom bird. If you're giving right anti-torque pedal, then i assume that the main rotor is turning in a "clockwise" rotation. . . . . .when looking down onto the helo from up.above it. When ya'll are at the close end of your flare before ground touchdown, is the pilot adding a collective input to add positive pitch to the main rotor blades for that cushioned area??? Great video & thankya'll for sharing. God bless.

Don't you have to lower the collective for autorotation when the engine fails? Is this done automatically on this helicopter?
@HelicopterGround
@HelicopterGround 2 года назад
Yes collective must be lowered manually.

What is the maximum altitude for autorotation?
@HelicopterGround
@HelicopterGround 6 лет назад
The higher you are, the longer the glide. The only max altitude is the operating ceiling for the helicopter. That altitude depends on the helicopter and is stated in the pilots operating handbook for that aircraft. Thanks for watching and commenting.
