The stock horn (singular) on my 2004 CBR600RR was functional, but I disliked the roadrunner "meep meep" sound they put out. I searched for a louder and more attention-grabbing set of horns and stumbled across the popular Hella Twin Trumpets. They are relatively compact for the amount of sound they put out, inexpensive, and had good ratings on Amazon. Compared to the Hella Supertones which are also immensely popular, the Twin Trumpets have a deeper sound (400Hz and 500Hz horns) which is what I preferred. They also seemed to be significantly smaller than the Supertones, which is important on a motorcycle where space is often a limiting factor.
This video is not an exhaustive step-by-step procedure like most of my other videos, but instead gives an overview of the process. Hopefully it contains enough information for you to decide if this will be a worthwhile upgrade for you, as well as giving you enough information to help you tackle it on your own. Note that in my diagram I forgot to include a fuse, but having an inline fuse is an absolute requirement anytime you run new wires from the battery. Hella says their horns draw 6A each, so I used a 15A fuse.
Total cost will be under $30 (horns, some 18 awg wire, a 15A fuse, and some quick disconnects and ring terminals).
Install time for me was about two hours, which included a significant amount of time trying to figure out the best place to put everything without interfering with the full range of travel of the front forks. With this video as a guide, you should be able to do this in about an hour.
