Today at Speedy's Garage we upgrade our Dodge Hellcat Challenger battery to a light weight unit from Arc Angel Battery. The lithium ion Arc Angel battery is MUCH lighter weight and cranks the car over MUCH faster, so a win win for sure. I'll weigh the Arc Angel battery against the factory battery and show you how much weight we'll save as well.

You are absolutely correct on the winter blend fuel. Most guys running just a tune or basic bolt one just see a mpg difference. The variance of blend seems to be dependent on region. Here in north Texas, with my bone stock 5.7 Hemi, I see a consistent .5 to .7 mpg drop from the end of October until April.

Hi Speedy...unbelievable how much I learned about tuning watching a vid on battery change out. LOL on the comment about landing the battery neg...I get more sparks (small) on my challenger than any car before...think it might be the IBS...great vid. Thanks Aircharge in going into the Channels list

I had an Arc Angel battery in my Hellcat, it failed in 2 months and caused all kinds of issues when it went. They took it back without an issues and said the failure rate was coming in quite high . Apparently they're designing a new version of their own that will be out in several months, so keep your finger crossed that you have a good one.

Awesome Video Speedy. I also have an ArcAngel battery and the Weight difference is Awesome. I was also surprised how fast it starts. I did a test at the track with my Hellcat. I was in the staging lanes waiting because we had 4 oil downs back to back. I left my Burn box on for 1.40+ mins because I was talking to my friends and trying to find out how long each clean up was going to take. I forgot all about my car on cool down mode! Well the ArcAngel batter has a low voltage power shut off on it and it was off when I got to the car. It still fired up but bairly. Awesome battery but keep your eye on it and don’t go for a Pic nic like I did and you’ll be fine!💪🏼👍😎

I love your videos Learned alot. I have a friend who's a tuner on East Coast Supercharging and he told me that it's just as easy to blow up an engine in the winter if not easier than in the summer. He recommends using a high-grade octane booster . cheap insurance. Cuz there's no guarantee that the fuel is 93 octane all the time.btw I have a HC 2. All the best!

Always enjoy your video's, yeah B. Mason did a good video on that battery. Hey would a small amount of race fuel added to the 1/2 tank of pump gas kept the knock sensors quiet? Just wondering? I know all the old stuff, learning about my new Challenger like the rest of us. I'm in SE Tennessee, thanks, Rick

Vapor pressure of fuel is higher in winter as you say to help it start easier.

So the Arc Angel is still not avail, tentatively in December. So I ordered a Darrell Cox Racing 9lb (8.8lbs) Lithium battery. Do you have a 1yr review on your AA battery?

Great content as usual. Just a heads up I too got the arc angel battery but the newer version weighs in at 23.5 lbs. The latest version got anther cell to bring the amp hours from 60AH to 80AH . But still a great upgrade .

Awesome Speedy《☆》The only downside I would think of is that the -30 lbs was putting downforce on the rear tires but I guess you could add weight further aft if it's a problem🤓☻🤠🍭

Fuel tank is right over the rear axles, so a little weight reduction back there is a good thing.

Nice video and weight reduction...do you also remove the subwoofers when racing? I've got the Alpine system, so there are no subs to remove. I'd imagine it would be easy to remove the subs.

I love your video they help me out a lot when I’m working on my car I did the brake upgrade but I’m just now starting to set my car up for racing I ran a 10 9 Saturday Atlanta dragway someone suggested that I go with a 309 gear would you advise that I’m running Mickey Thompson 20 inch drag radials I know a smaller ram would be better but I’m not sure about changing out the differential ?

Nope, it's lithium ion so no fluids like a factory battery that might out gas.

I don't think it's a good solution for a Hellcat. I'd do an E85 flex tune instead if that's your thing.

I think that they are around 450 on average, but are alot better than the Optima which are around 350 the last time I checked on one. They used to be a good quality battery when they were US made, but turned to total crap ever since they started producing them in Mexico and are a rip-off. A goofy mechanic on here name Scotty Kilmer, does a vid about them if you want to check it out and is pretty good. I'm thinking about getting an angel for my Challenger and will be grateful for the quality & weight savings alone, as most of us will take all the help that we can get and that area lol

Did only 1 pass and was 11.8@124 😐 I don't want to go crazy like you did hahah but would like to make a little more competitive for sure.. would you recommend 17 race stars with mt street r or some hossier 28 by 10 slicks.. or would hellcat replica with mt r 20s do just as good? Good Info speedy on the new battery new to your sight, getting my redeye in two weeks, not a wide body, in mango orange. Im a old school mopar fan, Great site your very through with your teck info. my car has the 3.09 axle ratio, trying to get the best ets without a tune for now. Do you think some demon coil spring would help my 60fts i will follow you weight reduction info also. Im in California with 91 octane im going to run 100 octane when i go to the drags any comment on the fuel less octane etc. Thank you

Less weight is like free HP ! It was my understanding that 2020 MY was going no be the year for a reduced weight platform/floor pan. Just think of the performance number with 300-500 less lb. ? Amazon has this battery for $420. yikes.

Have a 2016 Scatpack Chally.Does #508205 fit since it fits Chally Hellcat? It's November 2020. Who at Arc Angel can answer this? Why no batteries this year?
