This run was a bit of an experiment - I'm generally not such a big fan of the Recoilless Rifle / Quasar / EATs on full bot missions as I feel they lie in an awkward niche between the all-purpose ability of the AMR/AC/LC, and the homing ability and structure destruction that the Spear offers. This run show the RR can definitely pull its weight, though I didn't get the chance to show off its performance vs Gunships and Factory Striders.
The Tenderizer also performed excellently, making up for its lack of penetration with its accuracy even in full auto, picking off Devastators with remarkable ease.
Still not sure this build earns a place in my top picks for solo play, but in coop this setup might see more use.

Build:
The Recoilless Rifle is our weapon of choice for Hulks, Gunships, Factory Striders and Fabricators. That means our primary and secondary will need to handle everything smaller - while traditional wisdom says go for medium AP, the Tenderizer instead offers DMR-like accuracy and damage for popping Devastator heads, as well as the full auto firerate and magazine for Berserkers and Trooper squads. Recoil reduction armours really help here to maintain accuracy even in burst fire. Scout Striders we can take care of with our trusty Grenade Pistol and Impact nades.
500kg and Orbital Precision Strike have us covered for structures and Factory Striders - then Eagle Airstrike offers some big AoE regardless of enemy armour, when things get a little too hot.

Bro I can't believe how few of enemies you're fighting. 20 minutes before you even see the first bot drop flare on screen and you haven't run into or had a patrol run into you yet. I gotta start moving along faster like you are, the hit and run style almost completely negates bot drops.

I'm pretty certain as well that if you hit and run, there's often one trooper stuck 2 bases back still trying to call bot drops on his location, it's not uncommon to see a flare going off half a map away.

Love both solo and coop content - it's great to see how to play solo and coordinate in a squad! I've been loving tenderizer recently for the same reasons. Also the sound of it firing is just so satisfying!

Scout conflict-avoidance loadouts are great! If you don't wipe out the entire squad of bots quickly, the battel becomes impossible to win heads up. Abandoning the area until despawn is Scout tactics but with more steps... and death.

Nice run, love the Recoilless, first weapon i started using a lot vs the bugs. Dont see much point to bringing it to either front anymore sadly. Maybe if they just fix the "walk forwards to strip legs" on behemoths it'll feel good again, seems like an oversight with ow it currently works.

I think it's still top tier for Bugs, 1 shot for Chargers and 2 for Titans is still excellent for AT. It just needs that momentum fix because walking forward to fire it just feels silly atm!

The bubble plants are certainly useful but risky to be near when fighting the bots. Believe it or not, I had a mission on this planet where the Bubble plants' explosions sent me downwards, killing me instantly to physics damage TWICE in the same mission, lol!

Thermites go really good with RR for bots, or eagle strafe Both finish hulks/tanks that survived the 1 shot, and pretty quick too

I'm not that familiar with it, but I think it outright destroys it rather than stripping, but I can't remember how many are needed.

Something I've noticed about the Establish Communication Uplink subobjective is that if the SSSD is inserted before getting to the step where you need to tune the signal strength, the signal will automatically be set to 100% and the step is effectively skipped. Oddly it only works sometimes though.

I think it's purely a bug that happens regardless of when you insert the SSD, I've had it bug out either way.

I just like the quasar because you can shoot down drop ships, and handle hulks, turrets and tanks as long as your teammates distract em so you can hit them from behind.

Fair enough! AC / AMR just seems to handle most of those while dealing with devastators and scout striders way faster too.

@@newspiked7385 yeah probably. I’m not super adept at cycling through all the weapons constantly, so the quasar is a little simpler for me. With the AC I always get caught with my pants down while reloading lol

Recoilless is my favorite weapon by far. I have always been disappointed that's it's not really an amazing option for bots. I think the fact that it's really hard to 1 shot hulk eyes with it, and that shooting down dropships doesn't actually kill the bots unless you are very quick takes out most of it's utility. I wonder if making it so that the round can penetrate a larger section of the hulk's face plate would make it a lot more useful? Maybe if they make it so that dropship corpses have collision, causing the freshly deployed bots to get killed when it falls on them? Otherwise I'm just going to take Spear if I want an AT option

Yeah, not really sure what would make the ATs more relevant vs bots without crowding out the Spear. More Factory Striders might help indirectly, since the Spear lockon means you can't target the weakpoints manually?

11:04 pre quasar nerf I would run eagle airstrike, 110 pods, quasar, and jump pack and I was able to clear bases and leave so quick it became boring, which led to me switching my loadout

You probably know this already, but the spear can be aimed downward. You lock at the top for your detection ring and crouch down and the shot will fly out low and hit medium and close range targets.

Yup! You can even make it curve left/right by diving, but it's finicky.

Im glad someone else also thinks the anti tank launchers are meh against bots. Outside of the ability to shoot down dropships, it feels like theres really no scenario where I wouldn't prefer an autocannon, spear, railgun, HMG, AMR, or laser cannon.

Think you can add the new Commando to the list, that thing is fantastic for bots :D And maybe it's ok for the other ATs to only excel at Bugs, they're great at that tbf.

I notice that when I try to solo Autos, they constantly launch flares the moment they see me. It becomes a bit impossible very quickly.

The thing to remember is, the bot drops deploy where the flare was, not on the player, so if you move fast it doesn't even matter. I think in most of my bot solo runs you'll see bot drop alerts go off constantly, I'm just usually miles away from where they're calling.

@@newspiked7385 I'll try to keep that in mind. It definitely gets very overwhelming very fast when those things come in on you about 12 minutes in when you are trying to get rid of a radar jammer.

Barely touched it tbh, I think it's firmly a close range stealth option for bots tho, and even then it's very niche. Will do a proper test at some point!

How would you deal with scout striders with this build? I've noticed that there were barely any present in this run and they seem a pretty big problem.

That's what I brought grenade pistol and impact nades for, with the grenade armour that's 8+6 nades if needed. Lone scout striders are also pretty easy to flank if needed, their turning speed isn't all that. Alternatively, you can just swap out the Tenderizer for a Scorcher, but that can get a little boring tbh

For crowd control vs bots, I found Cluster underwhelming. Too often it leaves multiple devastators alive. The best non-Airstrike option IMO is the Orbital Airburst. Guaranteed no devs walk out, covers a wide area and has a short cooldown.
