It was shown also in Harvest Moon episode - Stolas was clearly excited talking about IMP festival, he even called Blitzø and his crew "just for fun/taking day off" not because he grew damn bored about festival

I believe that Blitzø has always had a thing for stolas, the one episode where they went on a date and stolas covered his face on embarrassment just showed Blitzø where he was with stolas, and that’s why at the end, he cried because he’s all alone and possibly realizes that him and stolas couldn’t become more but that’s my thought

kind of unrelated but i wanted to compare the two scenes (the one from the pilot and the scene in this episode) and i noticed that Stella actually isn't wearing the same thing. In the pilot she's wearing a green themed dress but here she's wearing her normal dress. I know it's just a small mistake but now my head canon is that Blitzo has (literally) dropped in on her brunch dates like that multiple times.

@@weenbeenpeen I would say the more important point is that stolas never _chose_ to be in that relationship. It was forced onto him, and in addition to that, stella clearly hated him. It was never really a relationship. It was all fake and formal. There's a brilliant twist here, because in the beginning, stolas was cast s a cheater, and pretty much everyone in the show who knew saw it as such. he was the unfaithful husband who was chasing after blitz because of lust, and this is highlighted last episode. That's the view of any person on the outside looking in, even to blitz, and that belief hurts him because he want's a real family. But here we suddenly see the situation is completely different. Stolas isn't chasing after blitz out of lust because of being unsatisfied with his wife. Stella isn't constantly mad at stolas simply because he cheated on her. instead, Stolas is chasing after his childhood crush because of a longing for freedom. the freedom to be with who he really loves. AFTER having tried and failed to satisfy stella and make everything work. he's not truly a cheater. not in my eyes. This is so sad, because blitz doesn't even realize he has exactly what he wants with stolas.

And I think that little pause and blink was an internal recognition that it might have only hurt Octavia more.

Stolas isn't entitled, or feels superior to others. If he has, or is, then it's because he's been forced to think this way. Look at when he bowed to greet Blitz and his father hit him for it, sweetly revealing his true character. Stella is his antithesis. Stolas is capable of love, despite being a spawn of the Dork Lard. Or, is it the Dark Lord? Point is, he's starting to truly think for himself for the first time in his life. I suspect his abilities are key to his character. Like, he can see the stars. He is naturally prophetic, which I assume represents his growing ability to choose his own future. Even more poignant, he can rise above Hell and actually leave it. All brilliantly symbolic. I love a show that makes you think like this. This episode took you, pushed you into a deep hole and plummeted you down to entirely new levels of depth, ESPECIALLY as far as Stolas is concerned. I've watched it twice since I discovered it was available, a couple of hours ago. The song Stolas sings is exquisite. 😀

The S02 premier has gone unexpectedly deeper, adding poignancy and true depth of character development to an entirely new level. It was a stroke of genius for the writers to fashion it this way. Think about it. S01 had only 8 episodes. From the pilot to S02 they have transformed Stolas. Actually, the pilot does a brilliant job of establishing the character dynamics, in only 11 minutes! Many people in the comments say they hated Stolas. Now, his popularity has soared. This is rare, especially in such a short time. This explains why it's worth looking for hidden metaphors and symbolism.

Actually, the fact that she thinks that way is the same reason why she shatters the glasses. 😜

Stoles deserves so much. I hate how everyone basically hurt or used him. Blitz was manipulated to do so but not as a grown up I hate how he treats him he was crushing on him as a cute kid just damn…

I am in love with this series, but I am going to hate it if it ends with Stolas not being happy. He deserves the world and more for everything that he is. Though I hope it's happy with Blitz and Octavia--a new cannon pairing would likely just annoy a lot of people.

so true, but in a way where it adds so much, Stolas has good articulation cos he's a prince, Blitz and Fizz, who are working kids and probs don't receive regular education are voiced by kid actors who still have lisps, i can't believe i've actually seen ppl say the voiceacting of the kids was bad when they probs just can't tell the difference between acting out emotions and articulation, which in great majority of cases is necessary for profesional VA to have perfect articulation, but not here, the kids sound exactly like irl kids sound like with subtle lisps that are probs near impossible to replicate by an adult VA

Yes! I honestly disliked Stolas at the beginning because I thought he was being a creep to an obviously uninterested Blitzø, but now seeing this episode puts the whole relationship in a new context. Stolas only started acting that way after he was repeatedly told that was what Blitzø wanted. Meaning it is so much more manipulation on Blitzø's side than when we thought it was a transactional relationship.
