@@themaddoxcrandell We have a cadet program for 15 years old to 17 (at 18 you're officially a firefighter) so I suppose then. As far as just going for a ride around the block that could probably be arranged for anyone, lol feel free to message Chief Brett Whitten or Asst Chief Anthony Beard, for specifics.

I don't know why so many like or teach carrying or using hose from over the shoulder. You waste a lot more energy working harder to pull or control the hose and branch. Hip shooting works just fine. I see no reason fro the use of the drip-torch other than blackening the whole paddock which is what the fire originally was, property owner trying to do it themselves and losing it. I must admit though, your PPE is good looking kit.

The backburn was to prevent any embers from burning ceders and other trees, jumping the line. The fire actually started several houses down by a welding accident and spread due to high winds. We definitely like the gear! Makes us stand out with the silver lettering.

@@soonerstatefirephotography The cold black on fenceline was suggesting otherwise. Yeah, PPE way better than the crap we are given here in Australia.
