There are way too many people living on the streets in America today. Sometimes the number of people struggling for housing in parts of the country can feel overwhelming. Approximately 1% of the U.S. population (3.5 million people) experiences homelessness over the course of a year. In the Bay area, there are approximately 35,000 homeless people; in San Francisco, estimates put the number between 7,000-15,000, which is the highest per capita rate of homelessness in any major American city.
When we are faced with problems that we see on a day to day basis sometimes we check out because there is no real way to help so many people. I want to introduce you to my friend Glenn and his five dogs. I know for many people money is tight but for someone like Glenn, it's about losing his home and his family. If at all possible chip in a few dollars and let's find Glenn a new home.
