D I'm not going to lie when I saw you start doing Battle Reports on NODE I flipped shit. So please keep doing them the Warhammer community loves it man!
The only thing i am curious about is will it be as violent or more violent than Helsreach? I just hope GW does not want to dull down the violence for children or stuff like that....
Ok. AoS stopped being garbage. Warhammer Total War (fricking tomb kings!) and Vermintide turned out to be great games. Tyranids and Orks became actually playable. Original Noise marines are in stores again. Plastic sisters. Specialist games are back. Comics and content like regimental standard that kinda make fun of Warhammer are oficially featured by GW. Gothic Armada 2 is about to get released. The storyline of 40K progressed. We got boxed sets that actually save us money. Kill Team. Necromunda with squats. Everything about Sly Marbo lately. And now GW offically works together with Richard. If we now also get a second Space Marine game and ADB releases books about the Night Lord prophet I am willing to declare that the emperor returned.
@@hans-christianschomburg7203 Right, I forgot. Another proof for the emperor's return and his infinite wisdom is that this joke of a faction remains where it belongs: At the bottom. Seriously though, yeah, you are right. Ironically, the poster boy factions of Warhammer, the Space Marines, are currently kinda underwhelming. Grey Knights got hit the hardest by far, but "normal" Space Marines have similiar problems, with their Chapter tactics not working for vehicles (though the White scars one would be kinda useless for vehicles anyway... Maybe GW puts out different special rules for vehicles and non-vehicles like for the IG) and normal tac squads being somewhat weak. It is still not all sunshine and rainbows, I fear. Though if I had to be honest, I would say that currently I care more about fact that Iron Hands still have no special character while the Ultramarines (of course) get all the love GW has to give blown up their butts, coupled with this whole "Primaris lieutenant"-issue. But yes, having a faction that is technically minor, but still important being so weak this edition without really trying to fix it in the chapter approved updates (which fixed major problems some Tau units had up to this point, btw) is really sad. It is because of this that I am a little bit worried when it comes to the upcoming Sororitas codex, because the "Beta codex" was arguably extremely weak, and with the GK the codex department proved that they can still release some really crappy stuff. But hey, maybe they manage to fix the current and upcoming issues. Seems like nothing is impossible these days, eh?
Well I can take GW only with a pile of salt. Honestly, I don't want GKs to be top tier. Midrange maybe on the upper side would be more than I would ask for. And I think that this is even not that hard. When I read the GK codex it feels like it hasn't gotten any love. But as you correctly pointed out, it is likely a problem of being a minor faction. That said, I think GW is doing some radical changes right now, and as I can see, a lot of these things are on the upside. If thy can't write a proper codex I will do it myself, as long as they don't come up with more primaris bs... I think it is doable. I just wish playing mono would become more of a standard again. But of course, you wouldn't buy additional models then...
Remember Dawn of War 3. The only reason I'm hyped for Angels of Death is because of Richard, it's gonna be no simple task to erase the nightmare that was Ultramarines.
@@abaddou1 while I agree that Ultramarines wasn' exactly a good movie (well, shocker, it contains Ultramarines), I would say it still had some great stuff. Some tracks of the soundtrack are in my personal "Warhammer ambiente" playlist and the Apothecary was kinda cool.
When I saw that there was going to be a WH40k Realistic Animated Series I nearly cried tears of joy. When I saw you were gonna be a part of the team for it I ran out of my house and did a lap around the block. Congrats man, can't wait for the next trailer
I think you've shown gw that telling a 40k story can be true to lore and interesting/entertaining at the same time.... congrats and I look forward to the day 40k movies are up there with marvel releases :-)
Mr. Boyland. I have played 40k since 1993 and now, being well over 5 decades old and retired from the military, I have seen much and felt much; your movies bring out the best of humanity and show an often untenable truth: In weakness the gift of faith is nurtured and in adversity we become what we were born for. Thank you for your portrayals of humanity' whether in faith or fire, that truth is rarely captured in film and yours is among the few that will remain a hallmark to be emulated.
That Series Will be gonna be Bloodiest as ever been in 40k universe!!!. Congratulations!!! being chosen to be their posible redemption from their last mistake of a movie they ever made. It´s really good to be able to be recognized, from your lasts Works where you shined. The Emperor Protects you Richard!!!, Let the Grim Dark universe be Great!!!! And Good Christmas ("I mean Good Sanguinala").
I feel like you will be the sole catalyst to propelling the WH40k franchise into the big screens, i cant believe this is actually happening. i wish you the best of luck and that u feel the whole wh40k community are behind u on this we have great faith in you!! do us proud brother! P.S with angels of death i expect are EPIC red thirst scene with a lot of rage and a gruesome streak!
Paramount studios, take notes. This is how you do it. Let the fans make great content, find the best ones, and STRIKE A CONTRACT WITH THEM TO BRING THEM ON BOARD. You make big money, through great content, from awesome people. Congrats Richard, welcome to the big leagues. You earned this.
Dude, im so happy for you and I'm so glad they chose you to head up the series. For years i would have loved to see the 40k universe turned into a series or film and now it's finally a reality. I very much look forward to seeing it, congratulations.
Congratulations, Richard! That’s fantastic news- obviously we all loved Helsreach and Guardsman, and have all the faith in the world in you. What a perfect Xmas present this is- enjoy working on it, and we’re looking forward to seeing the first episode!
Helsreach gave me goosebumps. I haven't felt that taken in, by a story, in years upon years. YOU gave me that, and you gave me that because Helsreach was three things: A great story, a great narrator/soundtrack, and your passionate work. If the official project gets your same level of passion, we're all in for a treat!
You are a genius. How you done helsreach is unbelievable. I’m pretty speechless about how impressive it is. Appreciate it and congratulations. Can’t wait to see angels of death.
Hellsreach is the best 40k story I've seen in eons. Love your work man. Congratulations. So happy the mighty 9th Legion are getting some on screen love.
Congrats man! Well deserved opportunity! As a long time Blood Angels player, and a big fan of your work I was over the moon with excitement when I read the news!
Richard Boylan Congratulations on GW finally picking up on your skills! You deserve every opportunity. Thanks for the fan works. Finally we’ll have the opportunity to officially pay you for all your hard work. Can’t wait to see the sense you bring to GWs storylines!
Congrats mate. Glad to see your work appreciated and to even see someone like GW actually paying attention to its community members now. It’s going to be interesting, and I hope this series goes just as amazing as your Helsreach one - can’t wait for the ending, but at the same time I don’t want it too. But hopefully if this series goes well be able to see more of your content and more stories.
Congratulations! This so fucking awesome that someone with your passion and devotion is going to be involved in something so epic same as Helsreach is. FOR THE EMPEROR BROTHERS!!!
This is what the warhammer community has wanted since forever! Someone with passion for the wh40k universe making a warhammer film(s)! You go for gold man
You are truly a Professional, Sir. If i were in your position i'd be curled up in a ball on the floor in several pools of my own creation. Congratulations. You deserve this. You've earned this. re: Chat. Please also get Warp Gazer (Lord Inquisitor Fan Short) and his team on board if you can. If i may make requests to your excellency. Between yourself and him, YOU are the driving force in the 40k universe in my eyes. YOU are talented. YOU have made it happen. With GWs official sanctioning, YOU can take the storytelling to the blind masses. FOR THE EMPEROR!
Happy new year and allow me to say congratulations on all your hard work! May the new year smile upon you both in your work and private life, take care of yourself and do not let anything get you down, all the best and look forward to whatever might come our way!
Congrats man, it's great news, well done, glad your hard work and passion have paid off. I've been meaning to watch helsreach for ages n finally watched it a couple of months ago and was blown away by the style and the way you told the story, beautifully grimdark. Glad GW recognised your talent n wish you all the best for all your projects (and for Xmas).
Thank you so much! I'm super proud of you for taking the time and love for engaging in this. I trust your imagination to make it something that all of us fans will love. Once again, thank you.
Congrats, can’t wait! It would be cool to do a Fenris space wolf series that starts from the perspective of an native Fenrisian who works his long way up struggling to survive the planets many dangers into becoming a Space Wolf. The entire movie taking place on Fenris. Imagine that even as video game!
I saw your fantastic work a while back and thought; Games Workshop need this guy on staff. It's really cool to see something sensible happen in the world. Congratulations on your achievements thus far, good luck with the project. I look forward to seeing it when it is ready!
Well done, Richard. Chuffed for you fella. All the hard work and dedication paid off. You deserve the recognition and endorsement for your talent. I've thoroughly enjoyed your adaptation of Helsreach. Good luck. Stipulate the use of the Black Library gents/ladies for the voice acting. Deus Encarmine/Sanguinius is the books you are looking for. It's part of the Rafen Omnibus coming out by BL in January'19.
Also a suggestion if it's done in the UK northern England is one of the best spots full of open fauna absolutely gorgeous highly suggest Doing a series in the UK the amount of planners the UK could be used as is huge so hyped for this
Been watching you since the beginning! So glad you got your shot man. All that hard work paid off and your have been rightfully recognised for it. Hope you and your team do great things for us moving forward! We’re all with you every step of the way!
When I saw it, I was "oh fuck, ultramarine all over again..." And then I saw that you are on board with this and my opinion has flipped on a dime. Congrats man! You have certainly earned this. Say no more fam! You got this!
Congrats on the project! Really excited to see your passion and work pay off in recognition and inclusion in something epic. It's good to know the project is in your hands and I hope this is just the beginning. If you can sneak in some sons of Dorn at some point in an episode down the road, that'd be supercool too.
The great thing about this new project is that with Richard, the characters won't be hammy, but stay 'grounded' - even in the context of 40k. Characters in an unrealistic setting still need to be believable with regard to their motivations and reactions, as was shown with Helsreach. And that's why I am glad the series is in Richard's hands!
Congratulation Richard, it's well deserved. If you need some music, i would be happy to serve :) It's a real chance for GW to have someone capable as you are.
Congrats man, glad to hear you've made it. I can't wait to see what comes next. Will there be interesting environments in Angels of Death? The teaser doesn't show us much that way, other than some foggy trees and such. Good luck, you guys have earned it.
