As for what you should do next - read Chris Wraight! He is a poet of war, drama and grimdark! And his Battle for the Fang, Scars, Path of Heaven, Lords of Silence are godlike! He is a truly better writer and more modest than Aaron, just my opinion (though Aaron NL, Cadian Blood, First Heretic and of course Helsreach are AWESOME!)
As for the 18 hours near computer - man I live the same, I don't remember than I was home and had a proper sleep. But that's a life in 2018 for the like of us. And Rifle companies rules. Special 'Hurrah!' to a brother from a poor Ukrainian rifleman ;)
I spent 22 years as a combat nurse with marine recon and was injured in Afghanistan and suffer from major depression I love your HELL reach it gets me through some dark times thank you SOOO much. I love the way you did the salamander
it is hilarious, in a cool way, how the characters in the 30k-40k universe parallels a lot of military experiences. The (imperial guard/imperial navy) especially. The real world is just smaller and less-warpy than Warhammer. lol
@@mezcel953 yes when I read or listen to the books I laugh because some stuff hit home really hard. It's like DAMN did they get this from one of our missions.
If only you, erasmus, the guy who made death of hope had gw backing, money and time to bring people what they want. This is an untapped goldmine. Love your work
Thabooka it's their IP lol. If you think that a tually having a chance to make money with their product somehow would hurt the quality of said item is pretty retarded
I live in Ontario, and trust me, its not just Quebec. It seems this entire country has shoddy internet. It sucks I missed this (had to do university stuff). For some reason, I love listening to you speak. Listening to your passion for Warhammer and the projects you make is a great way to spend a night in my books!
LOLOLOLOLOL....Richard, you are an awesomely HILARIOUS when you did this video. I know you were miserable and mad and you have my empathy and respect and support. I hope you know and see why you are fun to see on here doing these live videos to talk to us. Would love to meet you face to face at a convention event here in the states in New England; im from Saratoga Springs NY.
And I am not hitting on you--I dont chase after guys or whoever that already has a partner. Only giving you and your girlfriend y support for her supporting you and your dedication to Helsreach!
Hey- I’m also in New England (Berlin Connecticut- just below Hartford)- are there any events or conventions in this area? When I lived in California about 10 years ago, there were conventions all over- of course, had to drive to San Diego for Comic-Con, but it was only a 2 hour drive. Since I’ve been back here though, I haven’t heard of anything, really- if you know of any, I would really appreciate if you could point me in the right direction- thanks!
Great stuff takes massive effort. Push through it, get this done and then take a few years off. You have virtually created a masterpiece that entire film studios would be lucky to pull off. Once this is done, offers of work should come thick and fast. We are all rooting for you buddy. Edit and if you do another one it should be the Night Lords. Maybe do the short story Throne of Lies. That would be fuckin epic. The bit where they all drop to their knees and start chanting Ave Dominus Nox when they see the holo of Conrad could be an epic scene.
The moment they talk to you - they will approve fanfiction, even if it was done based on their approve story and in a way - which was miles better than all the official 'video' stuff they released. But fans love you - so don't worry, we will watch everything you produce man ;)
I liked the Salamanders... I missed when the sargeant said to Grimaldus "For the Emperor...and His People!" ... They are Bros! Awesome. They are my 2nd favorite chapter.
Hey man, came to all this late, but the work you’ve done has been fantastic. Finally 40k done justice. Can’t wait till ep. 12 and to see where this leads you. Keep it up man
I'll probably can't watch an hour long stream. But let me tell you that this movie is great. Thank you for your work. However the future will be, weather you can do it or not, I'm happy you reached this far with it!
Good Beer. I may get a few this weekend. Once helsreach is finished, what's next? I'm sure you heard about GW getting ready to launch more movies/T.V. shows? Wonder if they would have one on Toonami in Cartoon Network? Looking forward to seeing more of your work. I too get a little bent on Resetting my Damn Internet Box,...
Big Dick, this was fantastic......don't invite GW. I agree, they prefer to appreciate your work from afar. This just speaks volumes about your talent...... I used to really enjoy Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstones adventure books way, way back in the day.......("Forest of doom" I think was my favourite - the whole opening narative got me hooked :) ) You've proved you've got a considerable talent here and you can see it's well received and appreciated. I personally can't believe how far you've gone as a privateer to produce free material.....it really is outstanding work and any producer would be foolish not to give a good idea of yours an opportunity. Thanks so much for making 40k you're first big project. It's so appreciated. I look forward to seeing one day the world that comes from the imagination of Richard Boylan! Failing that, another 40k feature will serve just as well......just don't stop :) pleased to have journeyed with you brother!
actually......you should consider making "the forest of doom" your first feature film :D i bet "steevo and Ian-o" would approve........I play Bass, so I'm looking purely at the scope for you to freestyle over the established fan base here :D .....simple story, many possible outcomes........worth considering. :D
It's fairly heartbreaking to see you struggling to find balance with your loved ones and work, I greatly appreciate them allowing you to produce quality content on this scale - your book to visual conversion is amazing - watching the changes in your artistic styling has been amazing. I would hate to see you go and I want to help support your efforts. Please let us know how we can help.
Former E-5 medic 91B20 Gulf War, but enough about me. I've only discovered your Hell's Reach back in February of this year. And the question that is burning up inside me is..."How the hell can you do this without having Games Workshop and Black Library not perform Exterminatus on your ass? Really, how are you managing to evade the "Sheriffs of Nottingham" i.e. the Games Workshop legal department? As an aspiring writer myself of WH40K work, how are managing to avoid the Russian Mafia hit men that GW hires to take out anyone who dares infringe on their intellectual property?
Richard Boylan also a good idea for a animation is that new space wolves and genestealer cult book thats coming out or came out idk. If it gets a audiobook would be great to animate
Buddy.....metatron published a kinda apology to "you can't draw a sword off your back" you can very easily. You just have to pull the scabbard down as you draw, the same when you sheath........ I think he ended up drawing a nodachi from his back quite easily. Just a case of knowing the technique :) so back holstered swords are fine :DD
.....Skallagrims barehand half swording is an epic piece of ballsy swordsmansip though. I'd imagine fingers mean a lot more to him than they do to any astartes quick healing vampire/gecko/blessed by the emperor thing.
at 1:10:30-ish you mention "The Long Walk"... I didn't understand it. But, after I read the Wiki page I went back and gave it a like 'cuz I got it. Yes, you're all going to die.
