In this video I give my thoughts on both Hemifever Tuning and Diablo Tuning. We also do some 0-60 pulls to see how much faster the Mopar 1500 Ram Crew Cab is. Bone stock these Crew Cab trucks run a 7.9 second 0-60. Below is a link that shows just that. Now 0-60 times will very from vehicle to vehicle depending on the weight of the truck. If you have a single cab then of course your going to have a faster time due to less weight.

I’ll be shooting for a better time but I’m pretty happy with the results.

Lastly we talk about the horsepower of the Ram 1500. I see on a lot of other dyno videos people confused about the results. I try to explain a little more on that.

Sean is badass he tuned my Hellcat from regular 91 octane tune to a race fuel 175 shot of nitrous and because of him I ended up winning 1st place in Texas ...best customer service ever

Yea my crew cab comes in at 5800 and a lil change I forget exactly what but I know it was just above 5800

My truck definitely runs better after the custom (hemifever) tune for 91 and trans tune. My fuel trims were always on the lean side with the Diablo tunes. . Not sure if that’s because of cai and free flow exhaust but now all my gauge reading are perfect and the truck has more power and gets better gas Mileage. I wasn’t overly impressed with the Diablo Trinity 2 purchase until I got the custom tune.

Okay you should have done it in 4wd with traction off and brake torque it to launch it. Probably get down to 5.5 like that

Have you thought about swapping out the 3.21 gear ratio in the rear end for 3.92s ? You will lose a little in MPG.

The thought has crossed my mind. I’ve talked with Matt over at Moes Performance about it and was told that 3.92 gears are good for around 135MPH before the driveshaft let’s go. The 3.21 gears will go to 150MPH so I decide to stick with the 3.21 for speed and MPG. For 3.21 gears this truck moves. The video I linked in the description shows a stock Ram 1500 Crew Cab with 3.92 gears and I still beat it’s 0-60 time. My time will only get better once I figure out how to eliminate some of the wheel spin and get more power to the ground. In the videos I had to let of the accelerator then get back on it to get traction so that effected the time by a couple seconds. Im pretty sure once I drop the rear and put a little wider of a tire on the rear I can run low 6’s-high 5’s 0-60. I was pretty impressed at the 6.69 seconds I got especially since the TRX is recorded at 4.5 seconds 0-60. I’m only 2/3 seconds under it. That’s not to bad for a N/A 7,000lbs. truck.

@@MOPARRAM-bd9zk It was always my assumption based on talk and reading that the 3.92s helped put more power to the rear wheels. That being said, depending on what you plan on doing, aka go to the track to drag race and so on, when it comes that sort of thing, one of the up grades needed or necessary would be to put a beefer drive shaft on with all that extra power and torque. Especially once you add tires that are designed to grip the pavement from take off. Remember, you plan to add wider tires in the rear for more rear surface grip. That in itself will put a load on the drive shaft.

@@jimlove3795 This is true. I’ll talk more with Matt about the 3.92 gears. I’ve also heard 3.92 gearing is better for acceleration but 3.21 gearing will catch it in the long run. As for now I’m pretty happy with the 6.69 second run. Of course I’ll be trying to beat it lol. I’ve given myself a goal, Looking on RU-vid at 0-60 runs on the Ram 1500 it seems like in real world cases the truck mostly makes 0-60 in 7 seconds. I’ve seen a few videos where they run high 6’s but It all depends on the tires and the launch. It’s about getting the tires to stick. I’m running stock tires. I bought the truck used with 34,000 miles on it so I’m not 100% sure how long these tires have been on the truck. They seem to be in good shape but probably not the best. I’m pretty sure I’ll see some better results with new tires that will grab. As for a rolling start she’ll spin just a little, just enough to chirp the tires then she’ll hook a go!!! Only have problems from a dig because of the amount of torque she’s making.

3.92 definitely quicker for acceleration but 3.21 has better top end.

GVWR isnt what a truck weighs. That truck isnt close to 6000lbs much less 7000. 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie 4wd Crew Cab long box curb weight is 5160...lol. I ran a 4.89 zero to sixty in a 2016 Ford F150 Supercrew base model XL 2.7 Ecoboost launching in 2wd and a 3.98 in 4wd. 5 Star tuned. Over 200,xxx miles on it. 4875 oem curb weight but has aftermarket 20s instead of the stock 17s. Ah hell it would sound faster if I said it weighed 6500. It posted a 5.39 in 4wd and a 5.93 in 2wd returned to stock tune. All valid dragy runs uploaded on my channel.

I’m looking to do another performance run now that I have the headers and new wheels and tires. If I can eliminate the wheel spin then this truck will easily do a 0-60 in 5 secs. It was the wheel spin that was killing my 0-60 in my last test run.

Appreciate the review. Keep in mind, this is super mild "tuning" on a stock naturally aspirated Powerplant. All it does is just massage spark/fueling to optimize the power curve. Its not gonna rocket to 120 mph from highway speeds. If you wanna "feel the power," toss a stinger plate kit from nitrous outlet on it and club it over the head with a 250 shot.

That truck is not 7k lbs, the trx is the heaviest 1500 and is 6500 lbs Laramie crew cabs are like 5200

You know what they say about a mouth, its likely to say anything...lol. 7000lbs. Curb weight on that truck is max 5160. Hell according to him, his truck is as heavy as a Ram 2500 Crew Cab with a Cummins diesel.

It’s actually about 5750lbs- 5850lbs My brother in law has a longhorn that weighs almost 5900lbs empty. It is fully loaded though

I hate that i cant turn the dam esc off , my truck loses power then picks up again. that drives me crazy.

Yes the trinity II let’s you customize your top speed limiter. You want to set it with the speed rating for your tires. Anything above that you’ll be risking a blow out. Currently my performance tires are rated for 150mph. I’ve played with the speed limiter and the Trinity will allow up to 185mph for these trucks.

Nice but your truck is no where near 700lbs. You may want to be a 3/4 ton trust me you will not have those numbers if you were.

Hemi fever is trash- my 408 ran like garbage heard about another tuner named flyin Ryan and his bass tune dog walked a 4th revised tune from hemi fever… just sayin
