My Journey from Hemiplegic to Rising Strong - Hemorrhagic Stroke Recovery
Subscribe: ru-vid.com?s...
On Thanksgiving Day of 2019, Lidia suffered from a basil ganglia inter-cerebral hemorrhagic stroke. Throughout the years we've documented her recovery process.
In this video, we share our personal journey of recovering from a hemorrhagic stroke and the challenges we faced, especially when it came to getting up off the floor. The stroke left Lidia with one-sided weakness and limited mobility, which made seemingly simple tasks extremely difficult.
Join Lidia as she recounts some of her struggles, the techniques she has learned, and the adaptive tools she has used to regain her strength and independence. From the physical and emotional challenges to the inspiring moments of progress, we hope her story can help others who are going through similar experiences.
Remember to like, share, and subscribe to our channel for more content about stroke recovery, living with hemiplegia, and overcoming challenges. Your support means the world to us and helps us reach more people who need encouragement on their own journey.

Where you get that brace for foot and leg

We had to get it custom made. Insurance helped us pay for it with a doctors order. It was made by a company called Hangers Clinic in Utah.

are you continue to use baclofen?
@StrokeofMadness
@StrokeofMadness Год назад
Only at night so that we don’t wake up stiff in the morning. Backend has the tendency to make Lidia really tired.

@@StrokeofMadness Does she still has spasticity? If she recovered then how long did the spasticity last?
@StrokeofMadness
@StrokeofMadness Год назад
@@Nakim0 She does. We stretch every day to help with that. But, we've gotten used to it.

@@StrokeofMadness I am a stroke survivor two year post. My spasticity started 6 months ago, and it finally shown some good progress, I have been taking baclofen and suffering with sleepy and drowsy. Today I was able to exercise w/o taking the med. I used (nmes) and also stretching. A procedure in which small electric impulses are used to stimulate muscles that are weak or paralyzed. It helps to increase muscle strength, blood circulation, and range of motion and to lessen muscle spasms. Also called NES, neuromuscular electrical stimulation, and therapeutic (subthreshold) electrical stimulation.

No botox for her hemiparesis arm??
@StrokeofMadness
@StrokeofMadness Год назад
Botox didn’t really work for us. We’ve had four sessions of Botox and thought we’d have better results. However, we did have a phenol shot in her triceps and felt that it did wonders. There are side effects with phenol injections though, but it was what we were looking for.

@@StrokeofMadness what's a phenol shot?
@StrokeofMadness
@StrokeofMadness Год назад
@aethersky6493 Phenol Injection Phenol can be injected into your muscles to treat a condition known as muscle spasticity. This happens when your brain doesn’t communicate properly with your spinal cord and nerves. It causes your muscles to become tight. Muscle spasticity can even interrupt your ability to walk or talk. It can be caused by conditions like Parkinson’s disease, cerebral palsy, or brain trauma. A phenol injection helps limit the signals sent from your nerves to your muscles that cause contractions. This allows you to move more easily and feel less discomfort.
