It is quite obvious that many of you do not understand what the debate is all about and are quick to jump into conclusions. The motion doesn’t affect much. It just shows where PAP and WP stand in the governance of Singapore. The motion does not force WP to be recused from dealing with financial matters (as many oppies assume).

Whether it's PAP or WP lapses, integrity is fundamental of politics and their honest credibility. Who says integrity is not important? You can blame on on political parties that you are biased against , but don't insult the relevance of 'integrity'

Nobody is insulting integrity, but to use it loosely and repetitively to insult any person, who has yet to be proven guilty, is quite telling and more so when the insulting party is not at all perfect, glaringly. You get the picture.

The public choose their political leaders who are honest. Why link the importance of integrity itself to smear PAP - which clearly is not your favourite party?

@@peterchew4018 Do you know why they are homeless? Have you spoken to them to find out? I used to work as a social worker. I cannot tell you how many people I've encountered chose to be 'homeless', because they prefer to be independent. I have even encountered people sleeping on the streets even though they have a home. One of my clients who is visually impaired, refused to apply for long-term financial assistance from the government, even though he was qualified for it. I kept insisting that he should apply for financial assistance, however, he chose to continue to sell tissue papers and assured me that he will consider that option if he really needs it. It's unfortunate that people are so quick to assume that people who were seen collecting cardboards or selling tissue papers on the streets, do not have a choice but were doing it to make ends meet. But they have never thought that they were the ones who chose to do it, just because it is perceived by the individual as hard labour.
