I couldn't help thinking of the brevity of human life depicted in this scene. The young king stands in falling autumn leaves, watching a late summer sky turn quickly dark. Within seconds, he's staring into the starkness of the universe, the music is somber and cold, and a mounted reaper has raised his blade for the final blow, the king first silhouetted against the cosmos and then blotted out by the giant horseman. Absolutely majestic !
Even after many years of not seeing this scene it still invokes emotions in me and makes the hairs on my neck stand up..fantastic scene from a truly wonderful series.JRM was fantastic as Henry VIII.
It was good to see Henry Young again. Jonathan Rhys Meyers played him so well. I've always been a huge fan of his. Elvis and August Rush and Dracula. The thing was Jonny was only 34 at the time, 21 years younger than Henry was when he died.
Okay maybe i'm completly crazy about Anne x Henry. But this path of trees seemed to be the same as the one by which he ran to Anne next to the suet infection. So, am i the only one to believe that he hope to find Anne on the other side?
