Her Ability Will BREAK Hunter X Hunter! 

I find it endlessly entertaining that Togashi was writing this arc and decided that one Battle Royale death game wasn’t good enough. He needed another death game running simultaneously just for funsies. And I gotta say, I am HERE for it. I love a good death game scenario. Give me those convoluted rules and strategies and last second ass pull saves from certain death. And now more than ever I appreciate the fact that Togashi doesn’t just write like every character is dipping into the same pool of knowledge as the audience, I love getting to read each of them trying to figure things out and survive going off only what information they have access to. Excellent video. Really does a great job highlighting what’s interesting about this particular death game. Also: Judai. That is definitely how to pluralize Judas.

This is one of the reasons why I love HxH. There are more than one individual who has the potential of being the ultimate antagonist just running around in its world, it makes for great foundation for crafting theories on what will happen in the future.

Morena’s ability is absolutely an analogy The horror and depredation that the Kakin subject their people to was always going to result in a horror of its own to stare them back in the face and bleed them out in the face. And that horror is Morena Prudo. It’s also the anger and hatred felt by the oppressed. She is it, and it is her.

Morena, Parriston and Gyro, the villains I am most excited about and I think they can surpass all the previous antagonists in character (except Meruem).

The other scary idea behind Morena dying is that her game is simply applied to *everyone.* It would be a terrible act of vengeance to suddenly inspire everyone on the ship to begin killing indiscriminately. A sort or "let it burn" failsafe.

I'm glad the Hunter X Hunter is back after such a long wait.

While we're talking about Christ parrallels, something to take not of is that this arc also features Chrollo "Lucilfer". It's pretty clear that Togashi is making these two characters foils for one another. Both leaders of a criminal organization, with a devoted following, but while her ability is to grant powers to others, Chrollo has the power to steal abilities. Chrollo has issues with valuing himself, whereas she is probably the opposite, fully expecting her subordinates to drop everything to help her.

She wields an MLN, a Multi-Level Nen Scheme

I think the idea that interests me is the possibility that she gets "credit" for the kills of those below her. That for every kill her followers get, she gets some sort of kick back.

Ability would be less ridiculously OP if all infected members only had a few years to live like an actual disease. We've seen from Kurapika that spending lifespan can get you absurdly far with Nen.

Little fun tidbit - Morena is a name of a godess of death and winter in Slovak (or even in general Slavic) folklore. It seems that the name is more than fitting for this character.

The world is Morena's sandbox and she'll make everyone play her twisted version of Minecraft

I wonder if Morena or her ability could be a sort of trigger to reform HxH world. I mean the secrecy/non secrecy of the Nen was always a weird stuff in HxH. What if Morena's Post Mortem Contagion ability is something like worldwide spreading her ability... maybe just to a fraction of popolation but without distance limit... if so the Nen could become extremely common due to random dudes reaching level 100 and spreading it further. A new HxH world

Imagine Hisoka attaining level 100 in about a day and cherry-picking new nen users so he can always have new toys to play with

Her ability may be good, but is she smart enough to utilize it. This is a theme with Togashi, where he will make an OP power, but give it to someone who does not have the experience, drive, or intelligence to use it. Meanwhile small mediocre abilities can be made into the greatest powers, due to what I mentioned before. Hisoka is a great example of this. His power is sticky/rubbery aura, but he made that into a top tier threat.

Morena creates a lot of poor Nen users who lack the nuanced understanding or detailed thought that most Nen has…but as long as she can create more of them, she doesn’t need anyone skilled. She can overpower anyone with enough numbers.

It's crazy to think that Mereum comes from the same story, now we're following most of the characters that never knew of his existence. I'd like to see Morel's thoughts on Hisoka, or 4th prince so we can see how he thinks they compare to the royal guard now

I just realised how op would be if Chrollo stealed this abilitie and use it in all the spider, they could get to lvl 100 in no time

The unknown and the versatility of Heil-ly's family nen abilities made me nervous in those action sequence.

Since Gon lost his nen and now is a regular Joe smho, theoretically Murenna ability can restore his nen, maybe it is a possibility to explore.

Given the idea that you can alter a hatsu with new rules, provided the balance is kept, it makes perfect sense that as soon as Morena realizes that the Phantom Troupe are coming for her and her cult, she'll declare Troupe members to also be worth 50 points, possibly more. Which in a narrative sense, bodes very poorly for Nobunaga, I think. And once someone else gets that many levels... poorly for everyone else on the ship as well.

I kinda love the fact that I'm always present whenever there is new content in your channel. Everything abouit her power is a Ponzi scheme lol

Also I think the most underrated fight is Hisoka vs whoever that first heavens arena guy he fought was (see I don’t even know his name lol) but not because of the fight, because it displayed what fighting, which should fully just be called hunting in this anime, is. Just like you talked about with Gon vs Gontheru, Hisoka’s first step in the fight is to sacrifice a bit of his strength in exchange for knowledge. When he doesn’t quite get it, he gives his other arm. Then he uses psychological advantages to maintain a lead in the fight. His 2 abilities are incredibly simple and ultimately he beats the person who can make an entirely separate person from himself by using a rubber band on nen infused playing cards. Hisoka is always playing David vs Goliath, but always seeks to use knowledge advantages and technical advantages to create win conditions for himself based out of exceedingly simple parameters. It’s so great largely because it solidifies that the power of your ability is largely meaningless compared to your application of knowledge with your ability

I love these videos because they are the perfect mix of informative, entertaining, funny, and not too long/short (though I wouldn't complain about longer either)

I like the idea of one of the restrictions on Contagion being that the people infected can’t know how to use Nen beforehand. I feel like it would make the aura boosts from levels at least a bit stronger as well because killing people would be a bit harder without any knowledge or access to Nen ahead of time.

You know what would also be busted when it comes to Morena ability is, she gets back the abilities of her soliders who got killed while carrying her mission. Forget what i said lol, that would be beyond broken.

I feel there has to be a downside that Morena is hiding from her followers. Something along the lines of Kurapika's emperor time stealing their lifespan.

I could see Hisoka working with her and even becoming devoted to her since she is totally into causing mass murder and Hisoka is really into murder, plus he intends to the Spiders anyway, just like she does, and each kill would make him more powerful and give him new powers eventually, if Nen users could become players. This would peak his curiosity way too much, plus the offer of difficult to kill opponents in the Princes would really get his murder boner going, which he would not be able to resist.

I think she would go along quite well with Doflamingo 😂

My theory is that Morena actually work or Had team up with hisoka, so that he knew very well about nen and betray tsierednich, the chaos he make Will be the situation hisoka want to fight phantom troupe

22^4 is 234256 so after the 4th generation the hole ship could be under her influence that is so crazy but on the other hand it could lead to a nice battle royal in which the winners with a high level maybe would be strong enough to survive in the new world or at least not to die in an instant and i still miss gon that could have been a possible situation in which he could get back his nen but on the other hand gon isnt a killer and would not kill other people just to gain levels or and to get his nen back, but still i would love if gon sometime in the future get his nen back and join Ging in the new world

It's very possible Morena has a second hatsu as well, considering she was stated to be a second generation contagion user, meaning the ability from her first killing spree might still be there. Tho it's very possible it disappears after becoming the game master

I think you should do a Hei-Ly family recap (explained) video, with all the abilities and roles of the different members. Togashi really scattered all the information and it's hard to keep track. Maybe wait for chapter 400's release as there is most likely gonna be more info about them. I know a lot of the information we have is mostly vague but I think it's a good opportunity to speculate what the roles of Dogman and Perigord "Organ" are. And even after doing a little recap myself, I know I've for sure missed some stuff.

I saw a video theorizing that Shiela is Parriston, and even though it is pretty out there, I almost believe it.

My own personal theory is that Morena and Gyro are somehow connected due to both sharing the same goal. I am thinking that perhaps Morena helped Gyro with acquiring NGL so he could manufacture D3 drug. Just my crazy speculation. Lol

Her vs ant army arc is going to be insane on the dark continent battle field

I know this video is about Morena but I cant stop thinking about Gyro and how powerful his nen ability will be when he learns it. He built up the NGL without it, so his new kingdom will probably be 10x that with nen

Anyone who thinks Morena and the Hei-Ly are going down early hasn't been paying attention. She's clearly been set up to be one of the big bads of the arc, competing with Tserried and Nasubi for that title.

Nen as I always considered is more a battle of concepts and information opposed to other power systems that is more akin to cultivation. Togashi adding a level system means that there's also a possibility of a perpetually evolving nen power.

What if when one of the 22 infected dies, his Nen, along with his abilities, passes to Morena, and thus her Nen reserves and the number of abilities increase.

i like the idea how everybody downwards the pyramide dies once someone become a member zero the second time. Imagine miranda creating a whole cult of 100 of nenusers just to kill and absorb their aura. but tbh if pure destruction is her goal by ANY means the best plan would be to infect hisoka, let him reach level 100, get infected by him and let him reach 100 again, even it means she dies.

Most likely, Morena has no way to control people using her nen, and no way to change the contagion that's already out there. I think those were the restrictive conditions that made it even possible. Also, it fits with her "I don't give two shits what happens to me, I just want the world to burn" theme.

If this is the level of strategic genius Togashi is writing after years of stop, then it was worth it

I think Morena has at least two more abilities other than Contagion. Contagion is not a ability suited for battle, and I don't think Morena would be defenseless if she fights someone one on one. She probably has other abilities that she can use to fight. She is awesome. I like everything about her.

Imagine if Pariston had some hidden razor blade scars. That would be so freaking fun to have Togashi unweave

I think Togashi have everyone on the ship is because if in the end the story becomes too out of control, he can just sink the entire ship and end the story that way.... XP

Going back the Chimera ant arc HxH became so complicated. But now it's on a whole new level very complicated yet still interesting and not that intimidating.

One question I had regarding Contagion. Do new 'Member Zero' users get to dictate their own cult rules? I.e., instead of a murder and death cult could the initial member zero dictate a completely novel points system?

I can totally see the concern for what if Contagion continues after Morena's death via post-mortem Nen 😬

I wonder what happens if someone like Gon gets infecting with Cult disease. Would he by-pass the cost of his Nen contract? By gaining Nen from another's Nen ability. Does the ability work on Nen users the same way as it works on normal people?

If I remember, she had more disciples in the past but they killed each other until 22 were left when they left with the Whale. Another thing is that she has a 'gaming chair' I think this is tied into her nen ability maybe given by Contagion (and it is specifically connected to their base)

Perhaps the true condition is their willingness to kill for her desires. That 1st redrum activates the conditions placed upon a person with her kiss/ability/disease.

It wouldn't matter what the job was, I'd want Liam on my team. His analysis and insights of threats and nen abilities is top-tier. PS. Liam, what nen type are you?

Assuming Morena’s followers have blind loyalty: she could gather them and decease them; do their accumulated levels then transfer to her? Since her nen is already in contact with them, could she remotely acquire their levels for herself? Could other players steal levels from each other to increase their own power (assuming it makes strategic sense). I like her ability, there are a lot of possibilities which makes her a very scary adversary in the Nen world: hard to counter when you don’t know how her ability works🤔

Shot in the dark but it’d be interesting if at lvl 100 Morena is allowed to add/change a rule. Killing 100 people seems like at least a decent condition for that.

So i dont think this is where its going BUT. Morenas goals seem to align a little with gyros ideals, so this could be a way for him to achieve Nen and be introduced into the story. Morena does feel more like a means to create a problem than the problem herself if that makes sense and i do think death is part of her plans.

Now I'm left curious as to what qualifies as a "nen user"? Is it explicitly a human with nen unlocked, or do the nen birds also qualify? is there a loop hole one of the minions will exploit to get even stronger? What if she kisses another prince? Or our murder clown boi?

Her nen category is probably manipulation/specialization. since she safely opens aura nodes without hurting those she kisses & grants hatsu to them similar to Shaiapouf’s manipulation ability. And there’s something about her wanting to infect Tserriednich’s guards that makes me feel like she can do coercive manipulation, like that lady back in Yorknew arc who kisses to use her hatsu.

Can we just acknowledge how lucrative her ability would be if she unlocked people's Nen for money? I would give up everything, I'd go a million dollars in debt w/o a second thoglough because I'd love 3x as long in my prime and could pay it off.

Great video, I wonder how much Togashi will lean into the christianity stuff, with Morena making "miracles" (which I'm sure would be just as twisted as her personality), or if he's going to keep it more broad like he did with the phantom troupe. Also if possible I would love a video about who is the user of the "Silent Majority" ability, it's such an interesting ability that makes me wonder if we already saw its user.
