In 2020 I decluttered things. For 2021 my goal I set almost a year ago was to declutter my body of excess weight that was holding me back so much. I looked at it as the ultimate declutter minimalism goal. It’s 11 months later and I’m almost at my goal and today I can say that all of the clothes in my closet fit and I like on me. Huge win.

I did the same in 2019 and felt so much better. had a burst pipe just over a month ago and my house has slipped back. workers start next week so I am going to use it as a fresh start all around. My head feels cluttered when I have too much stuff. well done.

Oh my gosh, decluttering constant self-improvement spoke to my soul!! Thank you for bringing this up! There’s so much pressure out there to be better and do better, but that feeds right into perfectionism - which is another thing I want to declutter :)

Really love this one. So many things I’m also considering. I think the one thing is “Just Be”. I’m going to print that one out and set up somewhere. I’ve been pretty sick the past 7 months, and really for much of my life, obsessed about trying to figure it all out. I think I need to take a “holiday” and just be sick for a while. I bet I’ll feel just a bit better, by doing less, but scheduled, tiny bits instead of trying to digest and analyze a mountain of inexplicable, often conflicting information. Thanks ❤

I loved it. Why are we acting permanently as we need to be fixed, we are broken and not good enough? I am good enough, always was. I liked what I was doing last year, and the one before and I guess I will just keep on. I want to declutter complaining about being tired. I am actually tired of being tired 🤣

I can relate to this feeling sometimes... Tired of being tired, or just tired of feeling like I'm on a hamster wheel, day in and day out. Back to the point though, I'd say that we don't always need to look at ourselves as something that's broken or needs to be fixed. We are all just living a human experience, and that's okay. It's okay to be human

FOMO can be a good thing in a time where folks are pulling back and doing less with real people and experiences not via virtual platforms. It’s a good way to push yourself to get out and live life and spend time with others, doing things. Does not have to be extreme. Just saying yes to invites etc. can lend itself to a more positive spin on FOMO. I don’t see it as jealousy but I think my perspective and thought when you brought up that one offered me a different vision of what that means. In a more positive sense. I appreciate the suggestions and sharing and offer my two cents. 🙏🏻

You've inspired me! I gave up Facebook a couple years ago (because I was addicted to reading the comments and it was creating a lot of unnecessary anxiety in my life) and I'm not on any other social media besides YT. I immediately felt more at peace at first. But I found myself last year listening to, of all things, talk radio. I'm right back where I was when I was using Facebook, and I have been thinking about giving up talk radio now. I need to find more neutral (less devisive) ways of staying informed, so I'm doing it!

Self compassion - YES YES and YES again! I am just over a year sober and treating myself with compassion rather than beating myself up each time I slipped has made such a difference. Instead of being critical I got curious and looked at why I did what I did. Maybe an extreme example but I think we could all benefit from a little self compassion whatever it is we’re trying to achieve (even if it’s just eating a spoonful of veggies with dinner!)

I couldn't find the comments area for how minimalism is toxic. It is exactly that guilt where for example i have 4 purses but i dont like them anymore, but i need to use them because they are still in good condition. I want them to wear out before i replace them. I also bought them before i became a minimalist..so yes it is toxic. Minimalism has a way of controlling your mind if allow it.

I really love this video and how it dives into a deeper perspective beyond just our physical belongings! It honestly take a lot of inner work to overcome some more personal things the we hold onto on the inside... I'm no exception to this, and so some intentions I have for myself are focused around self-compassion/grace, expanding my faith/abundant-driven mindset and unsubscribing from people that no longer resonate with me here on RU-vid. I feel like certain minimalism channels here on RU-vid can get too caught up in certain things that just doesn't resonate with me, or their content just becomes too preachy after a certain period of time. I'd rather stick to those channels who are consistent in their example, or at the very least, try to stay authentic in their own goals and values as a creator.

So many of these are my intentions too. I remember punishing myself if I didn't do a workout, or did a slow paced yoga session and nothing that would get me "gains". Done with that. If I don't want to workout, I'm not going to. The toxic mindset of the fitness industry that says 6 workouts a week can GTFO
@Christinamychas

Oh man the “gains” thing - I feel that so much. Like if you didn’t break a sweat or weren’t sore the next day, you weren’t “working”. Eff that!

I liked this video. ,but you make it sound too easy. You say you're just letting them all go. But how do you do this letting go? # 1-6 seems like a twisted deeply rooted system with #7 being the tap root. Not easily untwisted or cut away.. You attend to your thoughts and identifing and label them as being # 1-7, then what ?

What´s there to explain? The channel you mentioned is from Mexiko and doesn´t even produce videos in English. The topic in and of itself is nothing "new and never have been talked about before", both RU-vid creators just had a similar/the same idea at a certain time. With the abundance of creators on this platform this is bound to happen :)
