I really liked the video and I find the point you make very valuable. Without falling into a lot of unnecessary explanations, it strikes me that if they have such a need to solve a problem and need is the mother of solutions, they don't stop messing around and focus on what is important for the problem they have... If they lack capable people, they should focus on that.
Agreed. I think part of the issue is just that theres too many degrees of seperation between the problem and the solution, its a labor market failure. Industry needs new people, but educating and training new people lags years behind the need for new people. Additionally usually isnt companies doing the training, its mostly trade schools and apprenticeship programs. It seems it wont solve itself until it becomes a crisis, some would argue it already has.
I will ask you the same questions I ask my own children. Are you happy? Does this make you happy? Do not spend your life making others happy if it makes you miserable. I enjoy your channel, your content, and your honesty in your videos. Thank you for your bravery to make them, and to have THIS conversation.

As someone who grew up in the trades and worked countless other jobs inside and out of the automotive and fabrication industry, I've never had a problem with individuals who have different preferences or sexual orientations. More have most of the old guys I've worked with or for. The biggest problem I've seen besides the alphabet letter activists wanting to express their beliefs to under age children ( under the age of 16 and not their own) is some people ( even in the straight community) can't take a joke, sure some times the jokes are offensive , but most of the time that's what they where ment for. ( I mean just to be offensive. Not meant to harm your feelings but everyones in a general sense) like hazing ,in college, the new guy on the job, things like that hazing the green horn . That doesn't mean that people that are a part of those other life style groups can't excel in the trades fields. But I do understand why some people would feel that way. I guess my biggest point in stating this is we all experience disrespect and hate going into a field as newbies or greenhorns.

With that being said I am actually taking some ideas that you did with your explorer and doing it to my 93. How is the 4 arm system working for you? Has it helped with performance?

@@kevinblack7766 I made them 36" long which seems to be a good length for me, I'm targeting 15-18" of travel or so. If you were going for crazy travel (20"+) you might consider making them a bit longer. The longer you make them the more you may want to move the frame bracket up to get them out of the way and improve clearance, but the more you move them up the more front end lift you'll get under acceleration in 4wd. The more they're spaced top to bottom the better they resist the axle twisting under throttle (thicker tubes also do this), but packaging is the biggest concern. Mine are basically the height of the axle plus an inch or two (center to center).
If you are only okay with who I am so long as I don't talk about it or act on it, then you aren't okay with who I am. However the point of the video still stands. The less accepting of LGBT individuals our trades people are, the worse the job crisis in the trades will get. Don't say I didn't warn you.
I'm an old gray beard and couldn't care less about what people do at home. The culture problem is greater than you think and is rooted in neo-marxism. The schools you went to were vastly different than the ones I went to. You could still punch bullies in the face and carry your 22 rifle on the school bus back then. Now everyone is touchy feely and sensitive about everything. If the old folks want to pass on their skills they need to be a little nicer and the green horns need to toughen up. Men are made by being plunged into fire, hammered into a useful shape and then hardened. Those who can't take it go do something else and those who can earn respect. As far as I'm concerned you have my respect. That was quite an empressive build and you should be proud of it.

I love you as my neighbor, my brother. I deeply believe in salvation through Jesus Christ and implore you to consider this lifestyle above all else. Jesus said He is the way, the truth, and the life. That nobody comes to the Father, except through Him (See John 14:6). I tell you this because I love you as my neighbor, not hate. I'd love to wrench with you as you are obviously highly blessed with the mechanical abilities you display. There are many Christians who are hypocrites and judge those not in the church (members of His church body), which scripture says not to do (See 1 Cor 5:12-13). I don't judge you, but I do want to invite you to look at the life of Jesus and judge for yourself if what He said is true. If it is, then a life for Him will be worth it in the end. Unfortunately it isnt a question of lifestyle, nor choice. Just like you didnt choose to be attracted to your partner, I didnt choose to be attracted to any of mine. You and I were both born this way. Just like the trades, christianity would find a much broader audience if it found more acceptance for all types of people. Until the cost of entry doesnt involve giving up who you are and who you love, christianity is a non-starter for a significant portion of the population. Note - there are christian sects who do love LGBT people as they are, but theyre the minority. Im sure jesus wont mind. He taught love above all else. Its possible to live a life full of love outside any church.
Interesting that you used the term “demands respect”. No one should demand anything; you earn it. Why would you demand respect because of your sexual preference? What if your neighbor is a pedophile, or into beastiality? They should just be respected and accepted? Sorry. The world doesn’t work that way. There are guidelines for this life, wither you accept them or not. I’m not judging you, but I don’t have to accept your point of view, especially because it’s “demanded”. Personally, I don’t care what your sexual preference is. Your skills to build/ repair, fabricate, are impressive. Will I watch your channel? As long as it’s entertaining or informative to me. I always find it interesting that those that are LGBQT supporters don’t want to be judged and accepted due to their sexual preference, but have no problem popping off insults regarding others religious preferences, just because they view it as “un accepting”. The truth is, Christianity is not un accepting. It’s very accepting. But, it says there are rules, and you have to change your ways if you want to be apart of it. Example: If you’re a pot loving individual. You smoke pot everyday. It’s what you do and it makes you who you are. Without it, you’re not complete. The rules of Christianity say “No”. You don’t put anything else above God, not even your idolization of weed. Same for those that gamble, or collect tennis shoes…..or whatever that “thing” is your idolizing, or is most important to you, like LGBTQ’s sexuality. If that’s what an individual allows themselves to define them, and what’s most important is acceptance due to that one thing…..that person is shallow and literally blind to reality. 99% of people don’t care what your sexuality is. They compartmentalize the individual on what they say, or demand, and why they are demanding it. “We need to be accepted because our sexuality is different than whats considered normal. You have to accept us.” What?! Please stop. If your sexual preference is what you are living for, and can’t refrain from allowing it to define you…..that’s your problem. No one has to accept that what you are putting out there as your number 1…..your sword to die on….is what societal norm sees as different. That’s on you. My worthless advise as a “grey beard” to everyone …..don’t be a bitch. Learn to take hazing in the workplace as a “greenie” because it’s not going away, especially in trades. And if you don’t want people to talk about you, don’t give them reason to…..keep your shit private….like flying a flag you know is controversial, and then getting upset because it’s not 100% accepted and someone says something. Most problems younger people experience is based on their false reality that everything they do can be public, and has to be accepted. Simple answer is no, and you’re either dumb, blind, or ignorant to believe that. Here’s and example: I have the right to shit on the sidewalk. Pull my pants down, and drop deuce. Society doesn’t accept that, but I do it anyway. Then someone comes up and tells me that I am a fawkin’ idiot for shitting on the sidewalk. Then I get mad at being yelled at and look around for support from strangers…..and there’s one other person that stands with me…so now I view it as acceptable and demand to be able to shit on the sidewalk anywhere and anytime. Simply put…..No. Go home and shit on your own sidewalk, at your own home, with your own friends that share your enthusiasm to shit on sidewalks in private. It's convenient to frame sexuality as a mindset, since it allows one to justify their own bigotry, but hopefully for your sake one day you understand that noone chooses who they're attracted to. Given your phrasing, presumably you're christian. Since you're already praying, I recommend meditating on the stories of jesus and ask yourself if the intended lessons to be learned are of disgust and hate, or instead to spread acceptance and love. If your love for your wife or past girlfriends is based on your viewpoints and how you think, and could be changed at the snap of a finger, then I'm truly sorry you've never felt real love. Hopefully one day you'll experience it. For those of us lucky enough to have found it, we know that isn't how it works. I'm interested in saving kids lives, not corrupting them. LGBT kids are in danger, rates of suicide and hate crimes against them are appalling compared to non-LGBT kids. Spreading love and acceptance saves lives, whilst spreading hate takes away lives. On behalf of this conversation, I'll donate a few dollars to the Trevor Project. That way at least something good will have come of it. If you truly care about kids maybe you'll do the same, preferably to a charity that is known to help kids not one that has been known to harm them.
Honestly, I think it’s great you drive around in a lifted diesel explorer with a pride flag. Never understood why people get their panties all up in a bunch about someone’s sexual identity, unless they are just scared shitless someone will find out they are also gay….. or maybe they are jealous…
