The Escalade IQ with its advanced suspension, Ultra cruise, Executive seating is easily the best SUV ever, beyond anything from Europe. The two motors is for Range, sacrifice 0-60 for range. 5 Sec is quick for an ESV

The GVWR for this is probably the same 10,000-10,500 as the Silverado and Hummer. The Escalade IQ is going to be heavy. The towing limitation is due to the limitation on payload, which limits tongue weight, which limits towing capacity.

Oh, that would be awesome for Escalade IQ owners who live in places like South Florida, where I live in the Miami area because we live in a region where a hurricane can hit during hurricane season. So you would want to have that when it is hurricane season if you live in South Florida. That way if there is a storm coming, and when the power goes out, you can power you’re home. That is awesome.

According to multiple studies, Americans are still hesitant to buy electric cars. Factors that are repelling buyers from EVs include long charging times, lack of charging stations, high pricing, and Justified range anxiety. Only 30% of US consumers are considering going electric for their next car, according to a new study from Deloitte, EVs in 2021 made up only 3% of all US car purchases, although the rate increased this year. Experts estimate that the index will reach 10% by 2025 maybe but unlikely . A 2023 study by the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago found that 47% of Americans are unlikely to get an EV as their next car, But the actual numbers are extremely less when infrastructure information is mixed in before the impending decision The percentage of Americans who say they're "very unlikely" to buy an electric vehicle as their next car is growing, according to JD Power, which keeps close tabs on consumer sentiment around EVs
@krane15
@krane15 9 месяцев назад
Two reasons: 1) range anxiety. And 2) charging network. This new Cadillac seems to have fixed that with 450 mi. range but what will that be like in the real world remains to be seen. Not a single manufactures to date has actually gotten even close to their estimates. Not even Tesla. Add to that towing, and you can effectively reduce the range by 1/2. However, with a 220 mi. real-world towing range, it simply won't do. But the 350 mi. sans towing just may be acceptable. It would be for me, and I'm a hard sell. But that's only because it has fast charging. Provided there's a network charger around that actually works, and give you the power it claims.

I’d gladly sacrifice a little speed for more range!! I don’t understand why most seem to be hung up on speed with EVs. That should not be a top selling point to me. They’re already in most cases faster than ICE counterparts. Range is way more important in my mind for everyday use cases.

@krane15
@krane15 9 месяцев назад
There are always a wide range of tire/wheel combinations. These big cars usually have four. You don't have to go for the largest rim-to-tire combo. Nobody takes an Escalade off road, but if you prefer that, just get the smaller wheels.
@richfarfugnuven6308
@richfarfugnuven6308 11 месяцев назад
These vehicles will make more sense when solid state batteries become mainstream. This makes sense when it has 800 miles of range with superfast charging. I will pass on an electric truck or SUV until then...
@krane15
@krane15 9 месяцев назад
Nobody drives 800 mi. At least, not families. But that would be better estimate once you add in towing since the real-world ranges are typically 60-75% of what manufactures claim it will be.

I'd like to see a face-off between the top-tier full-size SUV from the U.S. and Europe. My bet is only the Land Rover Range Rover and the Grand Wagoneer are the true off-road full luxury vehicles. And of those two, only the Grand Wagoneer has the best 3rd row seating. Even when compared to the extended Range Rover. As for the Cadillac, you'd think that Cadillac would have learned from the fiasco that VW had with all the negative feedback when they got rid of all their physical knobs in lieu of haptic buttons. Nobody want them, nobody asked for them, or no consumers prefer them. Everybody knows that's by now, and for a manufacturer to still insist on putting them in their vehicles shows nothing more than pure cost cutting on their part. What's accepted by Tesla customers does not translate to the rest of the industry. VW already proved that. In any event, when it comes to third-row comfort and convenience, Cadillac still can't beat the class leader the Grand Wagoneer. That's one place its boxy shape stands superior in cushion height, and knee and head room. Its also offers the most conveniences and creature comforts in that row of any SUV currently on the market. If you want an SUV that doesn't compromise its third-row passengers, and treat them like second-class citizen, then the obvious choice still remains the Grand Wagoneer. The only thing it lacks is rear-wheel steering. However, it does substitute part of that loss with true off-road capabilities. Something none of the other SUVs in its class (save the Range Rover) can claim.

One more reason I get sick of Nathan: he doesn’t listen or can’t be bothered to listen to the interviews. He questioned Andrey’s calling it a “truck” when twice in the interview with Mandy the Engineer from GM, she said it is a truck and it’s okay to call it a truck. Happens all the time that Nathan doesn’t listen to the interview and then asks questions that were answered in it.

This product clearly has Chinese ambitions. Looks very practical. EV's give you a lot of room. The Frunk is gigantic. I think however they should shrink the front so as to make it more nimble. This giant frunk is a side effect of not designing from scratch. So this will be very heavy.
@krane15
@krane15 9 месяцев назад
The weight is a product of the batteries and there's no way around that. Not currently anyway. As for the Chinese, they have a totally different taste in cars than do the North American or the Europeans. That's why giants like VW developed and sold cars exclusive to that market.
