I prefer her honesty to SJP trying to pretend that they were all friends. It's ok to not like people. You don't have to be friends with everyone you work with. I'd rather people just be honest than fake.
Sarah Jessica was threatened by Kim being the most popular character on SATC when SHE was supposed to be the star, so she did things behind the scenes in a passive aggressive way to get more control over the show and water down the Samantha character. In the end, Samantha was still the favorite character, and will forever be preserved for all time in reruns.
Kim has always been honest and humble. She got more attention for her character and performance than Parker and she was jealous, with her bff Michael Patrick King . Nixon was friends with her since they appeared together in a movie as children and Davis was a newcomer who wanted the job so they separated themselves from Kim. Numerous accounts from the set back in the day confirmed that Kim was always sweet and sitting by herself. Kim did show support over the years, even went to one of Parker’s movie premiere in 2008, she never went to any of Kim’s theatre performances, nor show any support. They made Samantha’s character more and more ridiculous and at the 3rd movie’s disturbing Brady - Samantha storyline Kim had enough and said no. She was turning 60 at the time and made the right decision! HBO/Max contacted her for this few seconds cameo,, they needed her to drum up publicity for this dreadful reboot and offered basically anything for her, rightfully so! Apparently it’s only about 20 seconds or so, so might be the most expensive cameo ever…
Incorrect, numerous accounts claim that everyone thought they were all actually friends on set and off. What sources did you see say otherwise? Actual crew and guest stars have spoken publicly about this, so I’m wondering what anonymous numerous sources you have.
@@danielpalmer1297 Again yours is incorrect! At the Emmy’s they were sitting separately from Kim and when on location 3 of them stayed in the same house while Kim somewhere else. The trouble started at season 2. Sarah started to get jealous and resent Kim because of the attention Samantha got and Kim’s comedic turn which drew many including me in. Could never stand Carrie and her constant whining. I have only watched because of Kim… Darren Star left , Michael Patrick King was bff with Sarah, she became a producer on the show and Nixon was her friend since they acted together as children. Davis was a relative newcomer who obviously wanted the job so Sarah took her under her wings. Met Kim many times over the years and she was ALWAYS very nice to everyone there! @@DavidVarkonyi During all post interviews before the series ended, and including Kim’s own speech at the Emmys, her and SJP WERE friends. She even said in interview that the media wanted to pit them against each other but they the rumors weren’t true. The cause of the divide was MONEY, plane and simple. SJP had biggest career going into the series, got paid the most, then when Samantha became fan fave by season 2 KC wanted more money! But it was too late, the contracts were already in place! No one on cast or crew has ever verified that SJP was a bully to KC, NOT ONE PERSON OUT OF HUNDREDS.
@@danielpalmer1297 Again WRONG! When you are at a job, ANY job you have to pretend everything is jolly! We all do it daily! As an actor when you are promoting something, even if it’s crap you have to pretend it’s the best thing and you got along famously! On screen you can pretend you are best friends even if you despise someone! It’s called acting! Of course cast and crew is not going to say anything about the producers of the show, they want to keep their job! Except the crew who left the job and no intention to return did say that they were separate a lot! Even extras most notably the Atlantic City episode confirmed that Kim was by herself when not filming. They were all very polite. When the 3rd movie came , Kim had nothing to loose , she was finally able to express how she feels as she had no intention ever returning! Even for her cameo she refused to see any of them! Sarah just tried to make Kim look like a demanding diva, which is Kim definitely not! She MADE that show, MANY people watched mainly because of her character and performance! Of course the 4 of them were good together in the original series, but Kim had considerable contribution! Asking for more money is hardly a crime, Kim actually negotiated more money for all 3 of them (Sarah already got more because of her producing status) during the movies. But when it came to the 3rd movie that scrip was just plain dreadful and for Samantha demoralising, so Kim had enough! We all have those experiences, jobs we hated, people we despised but at the time you have to smile and pretend as your paycheque depends on it!
Kim did the right thing not appearing in AJLT, it’s absolutely shite! I heard that she’s making an appearance at the end of S2, I hope that with Samantha back, it might start becoming more decent to watch. I mean SATC Miranda would hate AJLT Miranda. The writers should of left her and Steve alone. X

She was always the most magnetic and interesting character in SATC. Her virtues off screen solidified my love for her character, Samantha. Carrie was….alright, but she could never stand alone. The show was about the girls, but the woman who shined brightest. was Samantha. 🙌🏼
Thank you Kim for not destroying Samantha's legacy by accepting a third movie in which a 14 year old Brady seduces a 50 year old Samantha and sends her minor nudes. What was "executive producer" SJP thinking?!
I gotta say, this was her best role…she was actually great in the show she did like maybe a year ago(? I forget the name yikes I’m old!) but Kim does Samantha best :-))
I’ve heard from people who have worked with both Kim and SJP, that SJP is genuinely solid, honest and down to earth… and well I won’t say what I’ve heard about Kim…
Everyone knows KC was mad because they would not pay her the same amount of money as SJP, even after her character exploded in popularity. The contract clause was already in place and during renegotiation KC wanted equal pay but didn’t get it, so she went on a smear campaign. #runandtellthat
