i went as a kid in 1991. I really remember the jw hotel well. i also remember a very nice restaurant off away from everything on top of the mountain. you've sold me. i got to go back.
This video guide was published in November 2022, the clip about the floating jumbo restaurant is inaccurate. The floating restaurant was recommissioned and removed from Hong Kong Aberdeen harbour in June 2022!
Even as a native Hong Konger, I found your video very attractive. I will also highly recommend hiking in Sai Kung and trips to outer islands like Cheung Chau, Lamma Island, and Tai O!!

Hong Kong is fascinating. Eastern and Western culture and traditions are coexist harmonious in the same city. There is a saying ‘if you can’t find what you’re looking for in Hong Kong, it doesn’t exist in the rest of the world’. Culinary offers from low budget, supreme to ridiculous, all in one area/district. Contrast of glitzy glamorous designer outlets to basic living night markets in this city is mind blogging. Sophisticated Wall street districts, towering residential and commercial buildings are sight of its own. This video hasn’t mentioned the beauty of night view, ‘Pearl of Orient’.

Hong Kong is a very sad story. She was belongs to Qing Empire, and a colony of UK since 1842 - 1997. Qing Empire is Ended in 1912. Her age is older than the People's Republic of China and the Republic of China. But finally She’s not lucky like Singapore can be independent. The Hongkongers are original from the coastal area of classic Southern China, over than 99% of their ancestors are fisherman like Tanka, Fuklou and Hakka groups. Their ancestors lived on the ocean for many years and moved to the land since Qing Empire. That’s why we can still find so many fishing cultures in village of HK. From Qing Empire to 1850s, they learned Cantonese step by step for communication and finally developed the Hong Kong Cantonese. And some of them are mixed with Southeast Asian blood. It’s absolutely different than the northern china and mandarin culture, even nowadays the southern china is already covered and controlled by mandarin culture. That’s why the Hongkongers can not fit in the New China. They are absolutely different group of people with the New China. Hongkongers or hongkongese are a new ethnic group who related to the sea, but they don’t have choices for their ethnic group in outside of Asia. But some of Asian countries like Japan never put the Hongkongers in the Chinese group, never call them Chinese, they do have words for Hongkongers in their language, for example “香港人 honkon jin”. The words Hongkonger and Hongkongese just add to Oxford English Dictionary in 2014, nowadays these new words are still not popular. It’s the Hongkongers fate. They can’t not choose their future and their ethnic group. And we can see the contract of Sino-British Joint Declaration, the expiry date set 50 years. How about 50 years later? What would be happened if someone broken the contract? Unknown.
