Being called the top pizza city because of creativity and passion is like giving a participation trophy and saying that’s the best award. What a load of BS.
I’ve lived in St. Louis, New York, and Chicago. I consider myself a pizza “snob.” I’ve had Ray’s, Lou Malnatti’s, Giordano’s, etc. The best pie I’ve ever had is Imo’s pizza in St. Louis.., not even close !
They changed my childhood favorite Carreno's Pizza into a Bartoli's Pizzeria. Haven't tried the new spot. Gino's East has a great thin crust as well as Chicago's Pizza. Art Of Pizza was awesome when you just wanted a quick slice! Their stuffed Pizza always hit the spot! Love my city! ❤🍕❤🍕❤🍕
How can a "newly launched pizza joint be called "the best"? Pizzeria Sei in L.A. has only been open since Feb. 2022. It may be the trendiest pizza in L.A., but I doubt it's earned a "best" title just yet.
Chicago and Detroit have my vote. I love a thick pizza where it's a meal for hardworking people not a quick thin snack for tourists and people with nothing to do. I also love tavern style pizza but I usually eat the whole thing myself
Me too, and I live in Alabama where we have mostly crappy pizza joints. But that New Haven clam and white sauce pie is to die for. I have had Sally's even though it was long ago
The Mid West has the best variety of all styles, huge Brooklyn style slices. Alfano's pizzeria in Rock Island Il, best Calzones, stuffed(deep dish) and its regular Sicilian style pizza thin crust pinched sausage with the best ingredients
In Pittsburgh there are so many really, REALLY good pies already out there that if you don't have a really good/unique product, patience, and plenty of capital invested in ability NOT TO PROFIT for around 5 years, bare minimum, you have NO CHANCE ANYWHERE IN ALLEGHENY COUNTY!
That’s because Allegheny county is the 2nd worst in pa next to Philadelphia county ( Pittsburgh resident here ) we have some amazing pizza! But thanks to the price to own/ operate a business in Allegheny county they make it damn near impossible
My closest pizza choices are Dominos, Pizza Hut, and CiCi's. If I want to drive farther for other shtty pizza, I have Papa John's and Little Caesar's. lol.
You guys forgot the most important pizzeria in Chicago and that's Gino East that's where they place a sausage patty that completely covers the top of the pizza I'm really disgusted in you
I've had many great pizzas in my times east to west coast. All I can say is the pizza gets deeper the further west you go. By the time you get to California you can't find pizza pies, there is only garbage piled pizzas out there. It really starts to get bad around Chicago with their deep dish garbage. Thankfully there are exceptions almost everywhere but hard to find sometimes.
New York have some great pizza places to go and eat at,it’s the style that makes it great.Detroit great flavor color and ingredients fresh cooked well and tastes.Philadelphia gavels a knew look on pizza.Los Angeles have’s it there own way.Boston there pizza style is for everyone. San Francisco put’s a knew name on pizza in there own way.
