Lots of you have asked why I decided to buy a Suzuki Jimny and what I plan to do with it, so join me for a Fuel For Thought to take it out and discover why and what's on the cards!
You make some news bos, not English news, but with Indonesian language otomotifnet.gridoto.com/amp/read/231720499/bule-inggris-tajir-bangga-beli-new-jimny-padahal-hidup-bergelimang-supercar
arekb5 I highly doubt that’s every car, my fiesta is 3 years old now but still not ancient and it definitely doesn’t disconnect the AC depending on throttle input.
My friend is a tuner and during a remap of my 2010 renault we did a run with AC on and the power output was the same. He said that it's common even in older cars. Maybe it depends on the car, or maybe it only disengages the AC compressor at wide open throttle, I don't know. It could also depend on AC type, automatic, manual etc.
Wiggie I live in brownsville Texas, right next to the Mexico border, called a dealership today in Mexico they will not get them until 2yrs, so I guess I have to wait until Mexico gets them! The salesman said about 15/18k ! Won’t need to do US plates since I live right next to there border!
@@VI-dr1ov Oh wow. Dude I'm going to do the same. I live in California and the border is only 2 hours away from us. There is a Suzuki Dealership in Tijuana.
Sometimes, these types of videos are the best videos, the personal 1 to 1 conversation. I also appreciate it when "the rich" genuinely appreciate "lower-end, affordable" cars. like you said, the diversification is great and that's why I love this channel. Keep it up Shmee!
I had the previous gen for 3 years as a daily for my Mrs and I used it for a bit of greenlaning - totally agree with your comments, they get under your skin and on paper they seem so terrible but they are so endearing! It is amazing to see how little has changed on the new generation!
Okay first of it looks like a lime box and second it's suzuki and third it's not good for offroading 4th it's interior is shit the geae stick is disgusting and finally it's shit
Allen Saunders umm yeah? Different experiences? In all honesty, it’s pretty much a coincedence where events are filled with supercars because they exist. If there were no supercars up until today, the same thing will happen. It’s just that we will be using normal family cars but we’ll always be happy with what we have.
Suzuki is now wondering why there is a sudden spike in sales for the Jimny EDIT: this was joke.i heard what Shmee said about there being a high demand for the vehicles.
I have a Suzuki Vitara ( 2003), I bought it two years ago, so I love this so much, I Can go any where with this car, so amazing car. I love Jimny too. but it can be nearly 50.000 UDS in Việt Nam... so this is my dream.
Tim with your ever growing collection of cars surely you must have been looking at a permanent garage is this going to be a surprise or do you have a date that you will be revealing it
I think this is the car from your collection, which I'd like to own mostly. I love all the supercars as well, but this quirky little thing just made a comfy little nest for itself deep down in my heart. And also I love to be ensured about that you're still a true car guy, no matter what the brand is. Huge thumbs up, and have fun!
I have a Mk.1 1999 RAV4 3 door I paid 250 quid for, I live in the Highlands and we get proper snow. It's just a brilliant little car that's better to drive than you'd credit. It's great to have a car I don't need to worry about in parking lots or bad weather. Can't recommend a small 4x4 enough and the original RAV4 in particular.
It's a rainbow of cars... Violet McLaren 675 LT Spyder, Indigo Aston Martin Vantage(sort of), Blue McLaren Senna, Green Suzuki Jimny, Yellow Mercedes GT R, Orange Ford Focus RS, Red Ford GT
Get a 2" lift kit on it, a set of 31" mudder tyres, rock sliders and front and rear winches on it and you will be able to go anywhere in it. Those things are so light and capable offroad.
Much respect Tim, nice to see you have a foot in the real world, just as interesting as your other videos. Money does not always make things cool. Takes me back to the Veyron on the A303 video that got me into your channel. 👍👍
Schmee looks so excited about this mini G wagon! I absolutely agree, it's not about the price or the horsepower but about the excitement driving it. I would put a winch on it, LED bars everywhere and take it on a road trip from London to Cape Town.
old world charm of retro looks, moderate power, city and off roader, utility types, practical...at a price pt one cant really refuse to get noticed on the road amidst all the car typebodies...
I do love Suzuki for very much having a 'if it's not broken don't fix it' attitude, so many little bits & pieces I spot on the new one that they have just lifted out the old version. And yeah, you are so right about the character aspect, I must say out of all the cars I've owned, from big pickups to roadsters, hot hatches & whatnot. My lightly modified 3rd gen Jimny is by far the most randomly complemented car I've owned.
You know what I like about Schmee150? This guy has the financial means to buy pretty much any luxury SUV, sports or super car he fancies, yet he gets very excited from a relatively cheap and simple car like this Suzuki and he absolutely loves this little thing. Same with the Ford Focus RS, it's an amazing hot hatch and not by far the most expensive or fancy thing out there, but he loves that car to bits. Unlike many other "super car channels" on youtube.
Nothing wrong with the owning Jimny and really shows that you are a proper car nut and not a car snob. And when you do drive one of your super cars you will appreciate it more. Thanks for sharing.
I owned a Suzuki Carry Van back in the day. Now that was tiny. I turned it on its side twice. Soon had it back on its wheels with the help of a few friendly passers by. I'd exit it like coming out of a tanks hatch.
Pleasantly surprised Tim. I've ordered one too. But I couldn't take that yellow and turned down an automatic. So let's see when I can get the blue version.
As the owner of an offroad Zuki SJ, I can tell you that nothing makes them look cooler than big mud terrain tyres, the more aggressive the better. Make sure you alter the gearing if you go that way though - a 410 transfer box might fit (it was the go-to swap on the outgoing Jimny). 31 or 33 simex style tyres are best looking, and absolutely crush offroad. After that, a winch bumper, maybe bullbars (maybe), some LED spots/lightbar. Be careful not to go too far though, or you'll start looking try-hard if it's not regularly covered in mud.
Must be a relief to drive this car. Don't worry about scratches, crazy high insurance, where you park it, how many miles on it, what people think about it. Go Suzuki Jimny! The people's car! Shmee can relax!
That "kinetic Yellow" looks greenish to me. You mentioned it is a 1.5 three-cylinder but when you popped the hood I noticed four coils so it's got to be a four-cylinder...
First tought of mine was "What on earth you are going to do such a car when you already have off-road vehicle coming". After this explanation of yours about narrow roads and lack of parking space it somehow makes sense. I hope you don't go too crazy on modifications tough and keep it somewhat original state. It was fun to see you driving it after all the numerous sport cars seen on this channel.
I put my name down for that colour and spec. Test drove it. It was rubbish to drive but I loved it. 2 year waiting list. It really is super cool. Get sea sick driving it haha
It's absolutely insane how many luxury SUV's there are parked next to the road when you look through his window. It's just audi porsche bmw volvo SUV's everywhere lol
That is a nice car you added to your collection. My first experience with Suzuki was similar to your car. When I was in India, it called the Suzuki-Maruti Gypsy (SUV) back in 1989. What a great car that was.
Suzuki just know how to build small fun cars. I've owned a Swift for years, it costs nothing to buy/drive/maintain and it's fun to throw around! This Jimny is very charmful! I also noticed at a car show that it rocks about insanely much whenever you move just slightly in the car!
Looks cute and rugged at the same time. Nice that you got the bright color, most of these new ones are grey. That the engine is a bit gutless, but for many people this will be there dependable little offroad machine :) Also lots of horsepower and a high tipping point would feel a bit scary I think :)
Nothing wrong with having an economical daily driver you don't have to worry about. Looks like a fun little rig. Bigger tires would be a nice look I think.
They are immense fun. Put lower profile tyres on it to lower the centre of gravity and they are awesome on really tight roads. I always reget selling mine.
Just because I fancied the 5spd manual more than the 4spd auto, it fits the car better. The G63 is probably late June or July, I think the Supra we are talking more like September or October but we'll see
im guessing mitsubishi is now planning release a 2door boxy type montero like the one they have in the late 80s and make it similar to g wagon too....then isuzu will also release again their boxy trooper LOL
Actually Mitsubishi produced almost identical looking car as that jimny thats year 2001 i think when they unveiled the pajero mini lynx limited. And until now they build short wheel base 3 door pajero/montero for 2019, but yes its not boxy.
Love, of course. I had a Suzuki SX4 for 7 years and it was great to have it. I can fully understand your point. Make something special out of it. Can't wait for the evolution.
