I plan on teaching my son the do's and don'ts of trail riding (we have a '93 Toyota SR5 V6 p'up 4WD set aside for him). Can't wait to teach him, he already loves when we go riding in the '02 4Runner.

1:52 "can't crank them up on the lot" uhhhh every time I've gone to an auction lot I've had the option to attempt to start the vehicle days before it hit the auction floor.

I recently got a 91' Ford Ranger XLT. Just the 2WD version but has the OHV 4.0 V6. Engine only has 130k miles on it and no rust at all on the body or frame. My dad bought it from an assistant pastor in a small little town next door to ours for just 2000$ so I consider it to be a excellent deal. Runs and drives excellent, just needs a new exhaust system, gas gauge needs to be fixed, new paint, and the temperature gauge as well. For the price we got it for, it's a awesome little truck. I'm only 17 and going into my final year of highschool. It's not my first truck/car. The previous vehicle I had was a 2004 Hyundai Elantra. It was a beautiful red and was owned by my step-grandmother until she recently passed away. Had 113k miles on the engine until I totaled it last year. It's why I can kinda relate to this story in a few ways.

I would listen to any of Bears Stories anytime because they are entertaining as hell.

In high school (late 90's) I lifted a 1990 Ford ranger and swapped a 302 bored .30 over in it. Rolled it at low speed multiple times while off roading in Northern Michigan. My mother absolutely hated that truck. She was so glad when it overheated on the highway and it went tits up... Then I threw in a 215ci aluminum v8 out of a Skylark. Yeah I know... It was free. But it lived on to be put in a 1988 Fierro GT Manual. That little thing was a certified ripper. Sorry got side tracked... Yeah 4x4 trucks are fun..

I almost died in a 4wd truck in highschool. Rolled it 6 times after the wheel broke off when I was headed home from school. Walked 1 mile, because we couldn't have cell phones at school, and met a sheriffs car coming to respond. He put me in the back seat for leaving the scene of an accident. Second time i ever heard my grandma cuss was when she got there and I'm in the back seat.

so at the end of the month of June in 2000, 2 days after I got my driver license at 16 I rolled my moms 1985 Toyota 4runner. I was drifting corners on a dirt road going way too fast and over corrected hit a big rock up the bank with the left front then it flipped landed on the hood and winshield then back onto its wheels. I had no seatbelt on either and landed in the back seat foot well perfectly fine just some bruises. It ended up crushing the winshield pillers and cab almost down to the steering wheel. and blowing the bead on passenger front Tire. The 22re Fired right back up and I drove it back home on 3 wheels and a rim. crazy enough the fiberglass top was almost perfectly fine. So long story short my dad made me rebuild the 4runner with him using comealong winches, a bottle jack, a highlift jack some old well pipe with all thread to slowly push the smashed roof back out. And we pulled and pounded It back out pretty close to straight! Took us almost a year but fixed it and it was my first truck! painted it Ford Mustang Yellow with a black fiberglass top with black rims 4" suspension lift on 33's. I loved that truck and drove it over 330k then sold it to a guywho built a trail rig out of her. I found out years later he sold the engine to a guy I knew who put it in his toyota and that damn 22re went over 550k before blowing the head gasket.. One of the best trucks I ever had... All girls called it the rotton Banana or Bumblebee.( was the year 2001 way way before the new transformers movies) I miss 2BQH930

First car was a 1991 Toyota Corolla that I got for 500 bucks with 91k miles on it. The owner made me do yard work for it instead of letting me pay cash for it. He didn't think it was worth much until dad and I detailed it, tuned it up, and fixed all the minor cosmetic issues. His son left his 1992 Corolla for him to sell and then he was asking 3k for it and it was way worse shape then mine had been in. I wish I still had that 91 Corolla. I repainted it with my grandfather and sold it for $2500.

I got a 2000 tundra with 333,xxx miles and it’s been in 4 crashes, and more ditches and corn fields than I can count and still runs like a champ

I had a 5.0 as my first car and it ran 11.2ish in the quarter so needless to say I got in alot of trouble in it

My first car: 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. The Jeep you SHOULDN'T take off-road, so I didn't. But hell, it was big, safe, and great in the snow. Got bored, wanted to drive stick, sold it within a year of getting my license. Bought a 2001 Focus ZX3 which was great...when it was working.

Awesome story! My first vehicle was a rusty 93 toyota 4x4 with the 22re 5 speed. It was super reliable until it blew a headgasket because it was a junk jasper rebuild.

Ive had several 4wds during my teens and ive got 2 now. Haveny managed to wreck one yet but ive done a fair bit of offroading and broken quite a few things that way sending it a little to hard

I drove one of those as a farm truck. 5 speed. Inline 4. Black with a gray stripe. Those were fun times until the brakes went the gas lines leaked no exhaust no driver side door no bed. I miss it so much
