Hermit Crabs and their Shells 

The shell a hermit crab picks can tell you a lot about where it lives. Long, pointy shells are better for waves and protection from predators, but they're hard to get around in. More rounded shells are easier to get around in, but don't offer as much protection. Some hermits don't even use shells - there are deep sea hermit crabs that carry around anemones instead!
Take a moment to enjoy the goings on in your reef tank beyond the fish. Blue legged, Red legged, Halloween, Zebra, there are hermit crabs in nearly every color. They're a very common part of our clean up crew, eating algae and left over food - yet sometimes they also steal food from LPS coral.
