Copper trapdoors are much cheaper in 1.21. When Mojang first put them in, they were expensive, and the data pack Hermitcraft is using uses that original recipe. But people complained, so they changed it. Once the server upgrades to 1.21, they will be cheaper. Some hermits are waiting to add copper trapdoors to their builds until the upgrade.

Downside is you won't be able to craft already-oxidized trapdoors when that happens. IMO they should just multiply the output of trapdoors when crafting from blocks

Conspiracy: Xisuma has the copper permit. He also has the ability to upgrade to 1.21 with cheaper trapdoors, thus less copper spent. Coincidence? I think not. (this is a joke btw)

Drop your trash items into void; dangle a couple guardians in the void and you can join the hole network with zed & tango. Guardians wouldn’t be that welcoming if you’re panicking about not losing all your items into the void when you’re flying around down there. But that’s pretty much what scar’s doing in the nether. Plus if you’re deranged enough to be flying around down there you’re unlikely to be phased by the odd death-ray. Win, win, win.

I don't think this was XB being clueless. I think it was XB being lazy. That's a lot of effort to put down a shulker just to empty it and put it into a different shulker, and you have to do it for 3 shulkers of sand. Doc's payment system is just a flawed design. Granted, Doc's design does still allow for hermits to keep their own shulkers, but whatever.

XB! You could sell all the excess fish in bulk deals at the food shop. You could even use alternative payments--like emerald blocks (6 stacks fish = 1 stack emerald block) so that would entice hermits to buy it, since fish aren't really worth diamonds in this economy

xB in the official 1.21 update they changed the recipe of the cooper trapdoors to cost cooper ingots.

Copper trapdoors were made from blocks because ingots don't petina but blocks do. You want a weathered copper trapdoor, you make it from weathered copper blocks and so on. Starting in 1.21, those recipes will be replaced with ingots and you'll have to wait for them to petina.

The thought process for originally using blocks for copper trapdoors is indeed so you can craft them pre-aged. In 1.21 you can no longer do that, since ingots are always completely unoxidized. Also, if Cleo shoots themself, it's probably for some head thing. Block go flying when broken above a fence or wall because the item spawns inside the wall/fence below and attempts to move out of it, which it first does sideways. The effect is way stronger nowadays than in earlier versions before bubble columns, when you still elevated items up a plus-shaped pillar of full blocks.

lol docm77 tried to make the payment system as simple as possible for this kind of transaction. didnt seem to work. yea you just empty your sand in the green shulker box and press the button. dont worry tho you aint the first not getting it and definetly not the last.

Not sure this was XB "not getting it". I think it was more of XB just going "this design is flawed". It's not super user friendly when payment is already in shulkers needing to be transferred into a different shulker. Doable, yes, of course, but annoying and more time consuming than it really needs to be. I understand it's to help Doc split the payments for his shared permits, but still has flaws on the user side that could probably be altered.

Change is never simple. Docc was concerned that Hermits wouldn't want to give up their shoulders. He should have had them pay in shulkers and then have that number of shulkers dispensed to replace the payment ones.

No clue... id assume Burnout yet again. He hit Episode like 27 before others even hit 15 and some were still around 10. I called it early, it felt like he was trying to make up for being gone most of the previous seasons and he was going to get burnt out fast, and now he's been mia for like a month.

xB flip the stairs above the top rows of chests, with the stairs on the bottom of the block it prevents the chests from opening unlike if it was flipped onto the top of the block

Crafting using copper blocks (For trapdoors, doors etc) was intended on so you can craft the various oxidised versions of them which you can't do with just copper ingots, so if you want aged trapdoors, you gotta wait the old fashioned way

Another cool vid Mr Crafted, the room looks amazing. Copper crafting was limited during development due to doors and trapdoors not having the oxidation mechanics, but is fixed in 1.21. Acacia has been used as a placeholder until then. Ignots make copper doors and trapdoors that will oxidise, can be waxed and scraped. The fish can be traded with fishermen. Zombify and cure for better rates, obviously. Painful now, yes, but considering raid farns are broken in the update it'll be a reliable source of emeralds, blocks of which really would not look out of place in your build. The villagers will also add life to the build. To reduce the mobs landing outside the catch area could you maybe make the top hole narrower by one block on each side? Keep up the great content ❤

There’s actually a great explanation for your (rhetorical) question “what was the thought process” with the copper blocks! The thinking was since there was a ton of copper in the game, players could craft any level of oxidized copper trapdoors/doors. However, there was enough community backlash that this was changed to ingots in 1.21

That black strip, the big borong blob of black... Red Sandstone Walls in a strip down the center of the black. It pulls the orange, cyan and black all together. No cross beams of prismarine brick, just a tall 3 wide black wall surrounding a red sandstone walls stripe. Ok the chain look looks fantastic.

This build of yours is looking great! Glazed orange terracotta could perhaps look nice behind the chests, where there’s stone currently. It would be mostly obscured by the chests, but enough of the orange and cyan pattern would show to provide some visual interest, I think. YMMV, of course!

A panel of glow berries on the back side of pillars will tie in the orange, add some greenery and allow access to the interior of the pillars. Love your creativity, trail and error and thought process. I do the same thing

1:08 They could have made the copper trapdoors made from blocks, but delivering a bunch of trapdoors as result. 4 iron ingots make 1 trapdoor, they could have made 6 copper blocks resulting in 9 trapdoors, it would still be more expensive than iron, but not as much. And it would still have the option to use blocks from different oxidization states.

You did the right thing by not using doc's payment shulker in the wood shop, haha. He needs to learn that it's unnecessary & overcomplicated for the hermitcraft server to make people empty out their shulkers just so he can measure such an oversized payment :P

I'm angry youtube didn't tell me you responded to my comment 2 vids back and thank you for the mention last episode regarding the glass panes :) I don't care what anyone says, it's always about the depth lol The stairs you above the chest, you might need to put upside down, the chests will open with so full block surface, but will with the thin edge from the top of the stairs, could be wrong tho lol BTW new follower and thoroughly annoyed I haven't watched you earlier. Loving the style and flow of your building process with the lets play :)

I’m not sure why all the hermits seem to be hung up on the cost of the copper blocks. Copper drops at a significantly higher rate when gathering then iron or gold. It would only make sense they would cost more to make blocks with due to that.

Use bamboo to make the chests.. You could fit them inside the pillars.. Then you have free chests for the rest of the season.. Auto crafter could help too.. 💚💚

copper has n effect, therefore its probably harder on performance, therefore they want you to use it less by having cost more, but not so much that you wont use it.

Xisuma sells oxidized copper blocks so you don't have to wait to oxidize them yourself. Cleaning them takes much less time than to oxidize.

I think the original idea behind copper items requiring copper blocks and not ingots. is that copper is so gosh-dang common that you would wind up with so much excess that the expensive copper items would be more of a blessing. I just think that they made copper blocks too expensive, personally. I think their fix is nice, but I think it reintroduces the overabundance of copper problem... idk.
