Hermitcraft 9: Episode 20 - Exploding my Base

Mumbo: "I like my vault! Still happy with that at least" Doc and Grian:

Ren : "Morally, No. Even for that 64 diamond blocks" Cleo : "NO! TAKE YOUR DIAMONDS AND LEAVE!" Scar : "wait, I got paid for it?"

Mumbo: "I want to ask someone who will hesitate, so no Grian, no Doc, no Zed." Also Mumbo: *asks Scar*

The fact Mumbo hired Scar to blow up his base while Pearl literally has a demolition service set up in her trash store is so funny.

I would have loved it if mumbo hooked up all the tnt to a target block, so when Grian shot it, he would have destroyed his base. Both of their reactions would be hilarious

Mumbo saying he doesn't want to ask Grian or Doc because they'd say yes in an instant, not realizing they're both the ones that already started blowing up his base

“Im gonna be honest Mumbo, I’ve only been awake for 17 minutes” I guess Scar really did wake up and choose violence 😂

Mumbo: "scar can be so wholesome" Scar:* fire in his eyes and chaotic music playing with jellie on his head* Mumbo: " yet so chaotic"

Imagine Grian's next episode: "I hope Mumbo took his exploded door well" **Sees the entire rest of his base exploded** "Oh God, I made him go insane"

I love how mumbo chose not to ask grian, doc, and zedaph because he was worried they would, and I quote: "say yes with no moral conflict" but then asked scar, who said yes with no moral conflict and had his answer made before mumbo even mentioned the 64 diamond blocks

I appreciate that Mumbo cares more about feeling good while he plays Minecraft than hitting some milestone. Blowing up his base because that's what he wants to do? Yes. Yes please.

The hermitcraft recap team are going to have a field day with this week's shenanigans. From chicken wars to base blowing... I can't wait.

Who's gonna bet Grian is gonna get insulted Mumbo didnt ask him to blow up Mumbo's base instead lol

Grian is gonna have an actual heart attack when he logs onto the server and wonders if he and Doc were responsible for this.

I can imagine the sheer confusion if someone else sees Mumbo chasing Cleo with diamond blocks.

Coming from Scars episode. Watching Mumbo go around asking other hermits to blow up his base and hearing Rendog saying: "No one is gonna do that" is 1000x funnier

I love cleo's immediate staunch refusal and throwing the diamonds back at mumbo, had me cackling

Scar: "Do you think there's anyone else's base I can blow up?" Doc: "watch it mister."

When Cleo immediately dropped the diamonds I physically imploded with laughter.

He instinctively knows who is responsible for his door 🤣 The way he said that he needs to avoid Grian or Doc because they would blow up his base without payment. But then... he asks Scar. The third member on that "team" 🤣

"we don't blow up each other's bases!" meanwhile Grian and Doc starting another Hermitcraft Civil War:

Mumbo has really grown as a person. He realized he didn't have to keep working on something he didn't like and made a change in a fun way.

Doc: "I'm gonna make Grian blow up a small portion of Mumbo's base. That will damage their friendship!" Mumbo, immediately in the next episode: "Anyways, here's a small fortune, who wants to blow up almost my entire base?"

“I’m going to blow up my base” *impressed by the foreshadowing* “I love the vault, it’s the rest of the base that’s gotta go” *starts sweating*

I love how Ren’s immediate reaction to Mumbo’s offer is to try and see if Zedaph is spying on him.

I think Scar is posses by two spirits, one wholesome and the other chaotic, and they constantly try to one-up each other in an ever increasing vortex of wholesomeness and chaos.

As Scar casually mentions, he has a few vacant builds in Scarland. I think it would be awesome to have a small Mumboland megabase inside of Scarland. (themeparks are always adding on)

Mumbo: blows up base The guy who made his TCG card: visible frustration.

It would be so much funnier if he hired another hermit to ask that question for him. "Would you blow up Mumbo's base for 64 diamond blocks?"

Can we all acknowledge the alternate universe where he did ask Doc to take care of it, and we get to experience the glorious spectacle of the GOAT just nuking it out of existence in a single tick...

Grian not finishing the back of his base, but Mumbo finishing his, then blowing it up is such a flex.

There is something oddly sinister of Scar holding a Mickey Mouse balloons and casually talk about how he intentionally blow things up.

"Theres a reasin im not asking grian or doc" Literally names the 2 neighbors who blew up his door earlier in the week

Scar is probably the single most unpredictable hermit on the server, that’s why we love him lol

Mumbo really went from being the richest hermit to broke with no mega base in one episode

The juxtaposition between cleo's immediate and vehement *EXPLOSIONS NO* and scar's equally amusing _EXPLOSIONS YES_ is doing something to my brain 😂😂

This proves that Doc really is Mumbo’s best friend because he was just helping Mumbo blow up his base

I’m so proud of mumbo feeling free enough to share with us his true feelings about the base, I’m sad that it didn’t turn out as well as planned but I’m glad he was brave enough to do this and do it with style

from a creative's perspective, i really appreciate these sorts of episodes. love when people show other parts of the creative process

Mumbo being Hotguy-ed for the first time was actually kind of adorable.

You know the episodes good when it starts off with Mumbo saying, "I hate my Hermitcraft base"

I saw Scar's video first, and when Mumbo asked him to blow up the base, I assumed this was in some way a response to Grian and Doc blowing up his door. I think it's hilarious to find out it was a complete coincidence and had no relation at all.

Having watched Grian's last episode... this is not how I expected an episode about Mumbo's base blowing up to go

This was awesome, but I do love the idea of Mumbo just rigging his base to blow and then leaving an unassuming button that says “do not push” or something along those lines .. just to have someone (grian) push it and then absolutely panic as they see/hear Mumbos base just erupt into a fire ball in the background

I love the innocence in Scar's voice when he says "do think there's anyone else base we could blow up?"

I like how Mumbo uses the three hermits who are responsible for the hole in his door as people he wouldn’t ask to blow up his base.

Grian: “oh no we’ve blown up mumbos door!” Mumbo: “might as well blow up the rest of the base atp”

literally when mumbo said "you never know whether he'll be wholesome or chaotic" before he went over to Scar I was like, well what time is it? How awake is Scar? and yup. He did just wake up. If you'd given him an hour you might have gotten a different result lmao

I think the biggest problem with the base design wasn't actually the base itself - it was the biome it was built in. I'm pretty sure if you dropped that same build into a desert biome, where it would have more contrast against a less busy background, it would look amazing.

Grian: Freaks out because he was made to break a little bit of Mumbo's door. Meanwhile, Scar and Mumbo: (Part #2)

I would never be able to do something like this... mostly because all those floating blocks would be a pain to clean up and thinking about it gives me anxiety.

Cleos reaction had me dying, they really said hell no with zero hesitation . Perfectly contrasts scars zero hesitation to say yes lmao.

Oh, I wish he'd asked Dock to do it just one episode ago. Imagine Grian's reaction when he accidently set off a chain reaction that blows up Mumbo's base.

Funny that Mumbo names Grian and Doc as two of the people he wouldn't bother asking since they'd immediately say yes, considering that the two of them are responsible for the giant hole where the front door used to be.

I love scar so much he is just so much fun. Also loved Jelly making their presence known was so cute.

I love how watching scars vid earlier I genuinely didn’t hear the payment thing but then here you can very clearly hear it (plus the fact that scar probably should’ve heard it lol)

Mumbo realy became a hermitcraft milionaire. He's even doing demolisions just because he felt like it. Plus he hired someone to do the "i want to do that" job for him. A true Millionaire

I kind of knew this was coming bc it didnt really feel like mumbo was actually happy with his base, but hearing "I hate my hermitcraft base" was still absolutely wild

Ngl I never realized Mumbo hated how his base looked, I personally loved the style esp the water columns. But the hints were definitely there, in how he'd fiddle with everything to see what works and never get completely satisfied. Gotta respect the balls- er- bollocks on him to start over!

Wait... has he even *said* the magic phrase "Chuffed to bits" this season?

You shoulda put a button down in the front of your base wired to a bunch of TNT that said push for fireworks or something and see if Grian woulda pushed the button XD

I like that Mambo decided not to ask grian doc or zed because he believes that they would blow up his base no questions asked. Meanwhile giran and doc have already blown up his base and zed recently blew up docs base.

the blowing up of the base was unexpectedly EXTREMELY fun. it really isn't something that's done on Hermitcraft, and I think the novelty lent to the excitement for sure, but also I could hear the genuine happiness in your voice when you admitted that you wanted that section gone and were going to do something about it. I also loved the responses of the hermits you asked-- Ren's intrigue but ultimate denial, Cleo and their abject refusal, and then we have Scar. excited to see what you do with all your new empty space !!

I was a little sad to see the base go, but the Hermits' responses were priceless and I really enjoyed the episode. I was actually very surprised by how skilled Scar is at blowing things up; your base never stood a chance. I think Grian's Life series maybe played a hand in that.

Cleo’s “TAKE YOUR MONEY AND GO!!” was amazing and had me in stitches.

Scar probably needs to be added to the list of "will blow things up for free, immediately" lmao

i’m happy mumbo was honest about disliking his base and had a lot of fun destroying it with scar, getting a fresh start is always a good thing!!

social experiment was hilarious, but i also really enjoy seeing that even the people i look up to for build/creative inspiration have second thoughts and are willing to tear it all down and start over. i know a lot of creators super plan out and would just keep trying to make it better, but i like that mumbo's able to go "nah, this isnt working for me, let's try again with something new"

In this episode: Mumbo's riches finally drive him eccentric enough to completely go off the rails 😂

I'm almost sad it only took 3 people for mumbo to get his base blown up. Would've loved to see him talk to more and hear their reactions

Ok, so Grian gonna use chickens, Doc gonna use wither skulls, and Mumbo gonna blow up everyone's bases. The war is coming together

Scar legit went from chaotic to wholesome in a split second, when he complimented Mumbo's bones.

The irony that Grian, Doc, and Zedaph were the three not being asked and they were the three involved in blowing up the vault (even if Zed didn’t know)

I want to say, as someone who's not a builder myself it is extremely refreshing to watch one of my favorite creators where they admit that yeah, sometimes you're not happy with what you built and that's ok. And dealing with it in this way must be amusing and freeing I can imagine :)

If you had asked Zedaph he might have said yes just to get so much closer to finishing his diamond beacon. But I absolutely love Cleo's response, they're brilliant as always. Such an entertaining episode.

I love that Mumbo was right on all accounts about zed, grain and doc with doc already blowing up his door and zed blowing up doc's wall

There’s nothing I want more in the world right now than for Mumbo to message Grian in seemingly a panic saying that he heard that _he_ had been the one to blow up his base and that they need to talk. T-T Imagine Grian’s reaction LOL

This would be a great way to end the Hermit Craft Season. Save the map so people can explore it still, but make a TnT compilation of blowing up everyone's base to end off the season.

I think you could have gotten really interesting results if you gave the diamonds to another hermit, maybe grian, to find someone to blow up your base. When *you* say I'm gonna give you 64 diamond blocks to blow up my base people get curious. If someone *else* does it, it could be excused as a really big prank

Scar is such a reliable person! Always there to help... with distruction and chaos :D

I wonder what side Mumbo will pick between his best friend Grian and his best friend Doc during the incoming prank war.
