6:35 It would actually be 76% for 4 Zombies, if the chance of this working is independent for every single zombie. It's a very minor detail, but i think it's a common misconseption, so i will adress it, because i think it's interesting to find these little cases of applied mathematics in your everyday life. The Chance of this not working would be the product of the chances of it not working for all single Zombies independently (0.7*0.7*0.7*0.7=0.2401). Therefor the chance of it working for at least one is 1-0.2401~0.76 or in other words 76%. You can't have more than a 100% in a case like this :)

6:24 I think Ian said players were short enough, that not holding shift would be fine. Especially for BDubs 9:59 you have to enable left or right click with freecam in the freecam menu. It is disabled by default.

You missed the crucial step for getting rid of those items. You're supposed to put an open spot on your hotbar so you can rapid-fire throw them into the fire directly. You let them build up so much that they started flooding out of the tunnels.

I love the quests Ren introduced, it's like gamifying the HC experience. The "prank Xisuma's base" quest should not remain an example quest, but should be weekly imo. :P Also really enjoyed the music selection in this episode! I totally didn't look 3 times at the left bottom corner of the video for song information out of pure habit... 😬

The quest thing is garbage and so is 99% of role playing. The season was good b4 Ren fucked it with the quest shit. It's fucked this season over so bad. Now most of the hermits are unwatchable until they get rid of it. Good thing the best hermit, xisuma, MOSTLY stays away from RP cringe.

When I first built this farm my reinforcement rates were very low. I had forgotten to check local difficulty. Once I afk'ed long enough to raise local difficulty above 3 then the farm really took off. I built on an end island so I would not interfere with subsequent dragon summoning.

Hey X, I can see your drop of fps in nether. Tango found out that just by turning environmet particles off in sodium extra you can gain at least 50 fps. Maybe you want to tey that and turn off basalt delta particles. Much love ❤️

X, ianxofour addresses how to get rid of a majority of the extra armor and items in the video itself. It is basically clearing a single hotbar space, pressing up close enough to pick up items, then hitting whatever hotkey you have set to throw items so they go into the flame. Not an automated system, but it definitely gets the job done. Thank for once again highlighting such a great individual's and his Community's contributions to the game we love!

Just to nitpick, at 6:38, you said each zombie has a 30% chance of summoning reinforcements, and if you have 4 of them, then you will have a 120% chance. However, that isn't correct. You would actually have an 80% chance. Since you want to find out the chance of at least one summoning reinforcements, you have to subtract the chance that _no_ reinforcements are summoned (70% x 70% x 70% x 70% = 24.01% from 1 to find the chance that no summoning does not occur (aka summoning occurs).

A possible use for the zombies' items is the same I do with my gold farm's gold swords; dripstone lava farm next to a smelter to get free nuggets. Unfortunately leather armor will clog the system, so if you can find a solution for that then you can also double this up into a mediocre gold and iron farm as a secondary output.

So… bit of a story here… I have been avoiding watching almost all hermit craft videos because I was beginning to feel a bit burnt out, both for watching the vids and playing mc myself. But, all of the sudden this morning, I just really wanted to watch some hermitcraft! (You specifically, Xisuma) and so I did..! I managed to *binge* watch a whole 25 episodes (this one being my last) yet I still heard myself whisper “please let there be another” as soon as I saw the ‘check out my other channels’ thing pop up on screen! I just wanna say thank you so much for a whole day of entertainment and laughs after 3 days of being kinda sick.

Tango built a copper drowned farm early in the season that uses magma blocks to call in reinforcements, witches throwing splash bottles of harming (which heal undead) towards snow golems, and entity cramming to kill. It doesn't have the benefit of Looting, but it is 100% AFKable

Check out Mushoden's creeper farm that uses snow golems to aggro them. The rates are above average even if you only build 1 floor. Very compact, no red stone, repeatable design and only takes a small amount of materials.

In case you didn't know, the design of the copper farm was inspired by one of Ianxofour's discord members named Trtle (yes it's spelled that way). Plus with some tweaking and modifications, you can technically build it in the overwold. Also isn't allay duping a bedrock thing still? Or is it available in Java already?

Yep, Allay duping isn't in Java until 1.19.1 but that's not far off (was supposed to be end June) and it'll take a while to get it set up, ie build the ice farm (which X has been playing with on his Twitch streams), amethyst farm etc

ilmango has a pretty clever flying machine amethyst shard farm. Or doesn't get 100% of the clusters in all geodes, but it does get most and once it's built, you don't have to go around breaking the clusters and hoping you don't break the budding amethyst blocks on accident

Quick maths: 4 zombies @ 30% independent chance of success each = 76% chance of a success. You calculate this by subtracting the probability of all failing simultaneously from 1, then convert to a percentage: 30% chance of success x 4 = 0.7 probability of failure raised to the 4th: 1-0.7^4 = 0.7599 probability of success. Edit: with 5 zombies, the chance of success rises to 83%.

Also Xisuma for culling the farm you need to hold down Ctrl+Q on one inventory slot so that you can pick up and drop the armour left in the farm into the fire. The reason you need to cull the farm with the sword is so that your framerate doesn't suffer when you look up to throw the items.

as a bedrock player looking at that drowned farm I'm in awh. java farms are ridiculously easy to build for the jaw dropping rates yous can get. I honestly don't know if I like how easy it is or if im just jealous of the rates that are possible on java and the reinforcements mechanic is really cool, it should really be brought over to bedrock. awesome video, keep up the great work 👍

I built this farm like 2 days ago, what a coincidence! but it didn't work very well in my case😔! I checked all things like local difficulty, areas around the farm where zombies 🧟can spawn I don't know what is happening..... You should steal some of the zombies as a way to clone the farm. So you can reset the farm to reduce lag and entities. While it will also mean you dont need to be affraid to use your other sword

Mobs that pick up weapons or armor from the ground don't despawn, so they won't take your items with them. However, mobs that spawn with weapons or armor already on can despawn with said weapons and armor.

I built IanXOFour's excellent copper farm but without a sorter it causes havoc. The number of items that the zombies juggle gets ridiculous even when you cull them. Ian's video did have an excellent minecart collection system which sorts out the issue with AFKing too long and the excessive number of items.

300 zombies * 50 reinforcement attempts (plus the work to spawn in the new guys) every tick. Sadly those farms just aren't smp friendly.

6:30 maths derp 30% for four events does not make 120% (it sounds as if X implicitly understands this but I'll continue regardless). The way to calculate this is to multiply the chance of NOT occurring N number of times. So 100-30 would be 70% or .70 . .7*.7.*.7*.7 would be the chance of 4 zombies not working which is 24%. To determine how likely 1 or more would work, you would be able to take 100-24 to get 76% or about 3/4. So in summary, 4 zombies would provide about a 75% chance of getting the farm running. 11 zombies would be a 98% chance

That farm is insane. And if you truly don't need that copper, maybe hand it over to Pearl? She needs a LOT. Maybe you could make a farm that ages copper and make it super easy to use? Pixlriffs made a copper aging farm with flying machines that spread out the copper blocks optimally and brings them back via flying machines and then he could quickly mine them all in a line. It's in his Empires series. I would love to see your take on this kind of redstone machine.
