HermitCraft S9#11: TCG Championship Chaos 

@Luis Suazo He did a whole heck of a lot more than that. He built the huge TCG sign out front, complete with pyrotechnics set off while anyone walks the street into the pyramid, he got Scar to set up a refreshments booth, he made a ton of splash potions for the crowd to throw onto the players and GM, he provided different fireworks that could be set off by some golden pressure plates in the stands. I might be missing more but that’s a lot! Trust Cub to make anything grand.

Cub is the glue of hermitcraft.

Dude so skilled at everything that beef could make all different types of hermit cards of him.

Cub probably has the most hours out of all the Hermits. He's on a grind on twitch and YT

@@ChauNyan The amount of time he puts in for us is nothing less than insane. Remember how just a few weeks ago Tango asked him for help on Decked Out, and like a few days later he returned with 64 Lodestones?

I’m glad they are being civil about it, couldn’t imagine how the kids would feel if they didn’t.

yeah, with the custom items plugin it should be easy to do in future seasons without having to create maps. Makes it easier to update/change them too

Plus, it would give the Hermits something more to spend diamonds on(or any other currency, diamonds are apparently too easy to get with Doc on the premises). Kinda like land in the shopping district two seasons ago. They could make the card sales owned by the server itself, or used for community projects the next version of ruler(my vote goes for burgomeister). Maybe Beef can even let people create new cards for a flat payout if they pass a rules committee. And it would give more chances for interaction, instead of everyone just doing farms or mega-builds.

​@Luis Suazo yes but that applies to S9. Just like when a game has different periods and every period everyone gets reset and a new update is released(in this case new cards)

It's not likely for them to go into the next season any time soon, there is no worry.

Look at how far Etho has gone! I remember when he had a taped up microphone and didn't have smooth transitions! He spoils us now lol.

@@luissuazo3684 If they wanted best of three, they should've complained when it started. And the rest of us should've ignored them anyway, because the Hermits make the rules for their own tournaments.

@Luis Suazo I would have liked a best out of three personally, but I expect maybe the hermits didn't want to because it would mean more play time and video time/editing time for all the matches. I don't think it's dumb that a TCG match can end so quickly, but I would have liked for the volatility of early-game wins to be balanced out a bit. But it's all fun.

@@ferrer_creator9091 i think its just too difficult and time consuming to schedule all the hermits to be around for that many matches, scheduling seems to be the biggest thing that hinders larger events

Scar is unexpectedly a very strong card. The pitful 50 dmg really put ppl off guard when he have 3 item he suddenly do 100 dmg

These TCG videos really remind me of Etho when he was doing pixelmon PvP

Those were the best. I love the gym one where he plays the game recorded then he explain his strategy with a voice over. That time he played vanguard or something too was very cool to watch even tho i dont even play that card game. Might not be vanguard i forgot what tcg that was

He's always been about intelligent content. And he's not even showing off; he's just showing how it's done.

@@AnotherDuck I know, its just how Etho naturally is. The intelligent content is why I stuck around for a decade. The fact that he's so humble about it too really makes his skill shine all that much more.

It's why I'd love to see him in MCC. They've made exceptions about streaming before hehe.

Etho is great, but its also his way of editing out when he messes up hahahaha. As in if the mess up is not funny or anything he just delete them So by watching his own vid over he will know what is the most optimal way to play

Yeah, it was close. Just a little more damage and Etho wouldn't have been able to make that play. On the other hand, that was after so many random hits hitting in a row, so it goes both ways. GGs to both of them.

XB's deck is scary strong. Can tell how he became the underdog

I like how etho can tell exactly when xb messed up and call him for flying too close to the sun. That was really the turning point, if xb had swaped out to wels there he would had been in a way stronger position and might just win

@@ionmeth2031 Yeah, previously Etho made a point in just delaying and tanking damage so he could get the cards he wanted. t's so important for his strategy, since he has to be ahead for it to work. That's why he has so many armours in the deck, and it's also why his opponent can't afford to lose points.

You can’t predict what Etho would have done and what xB would have done in return. This argument doesn’t cover the mistake.

@@miniciominiciominicio that's true and I think a rematch would be fair. But with these kinda things you gotta weigh the pros and cons. A rematch would be awkward and could result in more mistakes, it would also be anticlimactic in both scenarios where 1) etho wins again 2) xb wins this time. The finale was hyped up and 3 hermits released videos on it already. You'd need to gather a good crowd of hermits for the rematch as well. All in all, it might be best for them to just leave it as is (ofc they would know best in the end)

@@jeffbronson3696 It doesn’t matter that all of them released episodes. They (xB, Joe, Beef, Cub) found out about it yesterday live on stream. It seems as if they didn’t tell Etho even though they all played 90 minutes of TCG together (not on stream, anyway). Beef himself said he was going to take a look at it. But if it’s true that none of them told Etho about it and just let him post this episode is unfortunate, to say the least. I would prefer to think the best of the hermits so until confirmed otherwise, I’ll assume Etho IS aware and that he along with xB and Beef talked about it and they decided against a rematch. Or they’ll farm it for more content. I don’t think it would be anticlimactic at all, especially they did the championship rematch live. They could make it an event. :)

@@miniciominiciominicio yeah, I was honestly surprised Etho uploaded this. I thought we wouldn't get it for at least a week. You're right. I do hope the Hermits hashed this out beforehand. I also saw some clips from the stream and I found it curious they hadn't mentioned it to Etho. I felt like he had a right to at least know and form his own opinion. But they probably told him later.

They are still friends tho pretty sure. A few week back when etho stop uploading so frequently and when he came back pause tweeted in his tweet, "you are finally back, now people can stop asking me if you are alive" or something jokingly like that. So its still possible for them to collab again maybe
