I have a rh inguinal hernia. I got it by walking into a low post in the dark, and during recovery, my lower abb wasted away. This weakened the area, and slowly, I noticed a bulge. I am very fit, exercised every day for 50 years (i am 63). I am prepared to get the mesh BUT before I do, I will try my best to repair it. I have studied the subject like we all do, and your posts are very good. It's a rip, not an open wound. The only possibility is to build/thicken the lower abb muscles. I am using a truss to hold the damaged area firm, whilst exercising and 24/7. The goal is to recreate an internal band of muscle to cover/support the area. Its diet/ stability/targeted exercise/and mind muscle connection. 1 in 4 males.... you would think the health system would be warning us about this.
Hello! Its my 8th day post surgery for right inguinal surgery. Main thing im struggling with is my testicle on the same side along with my scrotum has been swollen and thick skined compared to the other side. It makes it hard to walk and do even sit. I just started wearing briefs and lifting up my right testicle with a small towel to make it more easy to walk. Surgeon told me it was called epydermitis and he precribed antibiotics 10 day course. On day 3 of them feel a bit better but still hard to sit and walk since my right testicle seems weighed down under my scrotum. Thanks for sharing your experience. Im Not used to a sedentary life so its been hard to slow down.
Mine was & is still partly the same. The swelling/fluid in testicle on same side of my hernia opp is has went down about 40%, so that's progress. Its been 2 months though so it is a bit disappointing. I had my hernia for 2 years though, so perhaps that's a factor. I'm hoping it continues to reduce over next couple of months. Hoping for both us in a fantastic & dynamic hernia liberated future my friend.
