One of my favorite scenes from the late, great Chris Farley. We were all gifted something very special by having Chris on this earth for 33 years. His aggressive, yet almost child like humor was unmeasurable. Rest easy Chris.
You know out of all my youTube uploads, this one seems to have the most hits. just goes to show how great Chris was. Your right about the writing in this movie.. totally epic.
I'm 7 months pregnant to our son, and when people ask me what type of mom do you think you're going to be I say - A cross between Fran Drescher and Chris Farley. my poor child LMFAO
@@yourboyphoenix3217 you’d better pray to the gods of skinny punks that this wind doesn’t pick up because I’ll come over there and jam an ore up your ass! (My favorite line in the entire movie)
I never noticed watching this when I was younger that he actually teared up when speaking about his father in this scene. Chris was a very talented dramatic actor. I read in a bio of a program for Second City that he acted in a Sam Shephard play when he was at Marquette. He really had a lot of depth. I wish we would've been able to see more of that.
He agreed to a sequel of this, then apparently afterwards he intended to drop some weight and concentrate on dramatic roles. His demons had other ideas though....
That tear up is one of the most genuine moments I've seen in movies. Beyond all those dramatic bawling fits they put actors in. This one comes across so real. It's palpable.
I love this scene because Chris Farley really gets choked up while talking about his dad. I think he really thought about him dying in real life while filming the scene to get into character because sometimes I get choked up daydreaming if my dad died and I almost cry and my face feels like I have the same expression as his.
He could absolutely do dramatic acting. If he didn't get even fatter than he was in this film and on all the drugs, he could do it. Like if he kept this 1994 level of health he could certainly do it. (This level certainly wasn't good, but it was somewhat manageable, unlike 97.)
Good morning Chuck! Thanks for posting this clip. Farley was ahead of his time and Ms. Julie Warner is STILL a cutie pie. One of many epic scenes in a movie that never gets old!
Fun fact, Chris Farley was going to be the voice of Shrek, but passed away before production took place. Shrek was inspired by Farley’s physique. When Mike Myers was hired, the directors told him they had a different variation of Shrek that looked like him. Myers said no, and kept the original design in honor of his friend Chris Farley.
Would have been awesome. I always wished Farley and Eddie Murphy did a movie together. i sometimes imagined how Shrek would have come out. I've heard the screen tests but the whole movie. Would have been great.
2:21 Listen Up You Little Spaziod, I Know Where You Live and I’ve Seen Where You Sleep, I Swear to Everything Holy That Your Mothers Will Cry When They See What I’ve Done To You!
The bloopers for this movie are so funny. He ruined a few scenes because he couldn't hold his laughter back. One of my favorite bloopers is when Spade says "He seems like a pretty nice guy" Farley just burst out laughing. He had such a natural gift. His humor was like something we see in a lot of people, his innocence, gentle demeanor but could change to funny anger on the flip of a dime.
Was that kid in the middle, the guy from "She's Outta Your League"? This scene always kills me. Dudes crazy emotional one second, then hilarious the next. Chris had that genuine likeability, just like John Candy did. Makes him easy to root for. Rest easy my friend!
I absolutely love how this scene does a complete loop around with my emotions in the span of seconds. It almost gives me whiplash. It starts right after the funeral, so we're already primed for some cry time, and then Chris ACTUALLY starts crying in the scene so immediately I'm a mess. Then the kids come in, then you're in this mid range of "I'm still sad...but happy now?" when they start going at it. Then the Gilligan/Skipper line hits, which NO 90s kid would realistically use as a reference, so that's already funny. And then by the time Chris stands up and starts bellowing "YOU BETTER PRAY TO THE GOD OF SKINNY PUNKS-", I've done a complete 180 from the tears and I'm laughing myself sick. Sometimes life really does move that fast. 🤣🤣👍
"Jeepers creepers, those guys keep interrupting us. I'm sorry about that." It's the calm nervous moments that make Farley's EXPLOSIVE YELLS so comedically effective. Also, Farley references the wind no less than 8 times in a 2 minute conversation; his character is an open book. You can see where his mind is at. Not really thinking too far into the future- just the matter at hand.
"Your father was a great guy" Correction, he IS a great guy... he didn't go anywhere, he went everywhere he didn't leave he just got out he will never leave he is always with us
That's a tough call man. There are so many great parts to this movie. I so wished they had made a Tommy boy 2. But I'm just grateful we got an "Almost hero's" Chris' last movie. The guy was an unreal talent.
It breaks my heart that he didn’t know how truly loved he was. I feel like with today being held things are, he could’ve gotten the help he needs and found love. RIP, Chris Farley.
The funniest part to me is after the kids show disrespect again, then SHE goes off and the camera pans back to the kids' faces - hahahaha, the look of horror is priceless. 🤣
If you look closely @1:55 she can not keep a straight face and almost busts out laughing during Chris' 'You better pray to the god of skinny punks" line.
