Olympic gymnast Lance Ringnald analyses the Bar and floor skills of the newly named Olympian Hezly Rivera with side by side comparisons and insights. What a ride she is on.
I think she's going to be solid in Paris. Lot of experience around her on the team, and I"m sure that will help. Despite the injuries, US is sending a great squad.
Yes, it definitely feels like she is on the rise and getting more solid and on top of her routines very quickly. I would love to see her peek at the Olympics. Rock on.
I love that Hezly is the lone newbie to the team. The other ladies will guide her and she will being youthful excitement to the team. Her bars are so good. She’s like the Laurie Hernandez of the 2024 team. And we know how Laurie worked out. Go Hezly!
yes, she does seem to have a great momentum right now and I feel strongly the team will be very tight and supportive of each other. They are all on a great adventure together.
@@KandeShack yes, the proof is in the performance and she performed incredibly well. I look forward to seeing much more of her growth in gymnastics and I hope she has a great Olympics as I know she has the ability to.
@@susandilaudo9534 I have a lot of respect for Valerie. He’s done a great job with many gymnast and many of the the techniques he emphasizes I prefer. It does seem her pacing has let her to her pinnacle at the ideal time. I really hope she has a great Olympics. Rock on and thanks.
Partly because Valeri paces her to LA, not Paris. I hope Valeri doesn't make her do crazy upgrades. Yes, Hezly can do all these 6.6+D bars and beam in training, but consistency is more important. Bars and beam are the easiest to get 9 / 10 in total.
2012, it was Kyla Ross for the youngest and 16 years old. 2016, it was Laurie Hernandez. 2020, there is no 16 years old. And 2024, Hezly make a comeback for 16 years old representative! 🎉
Haha. I think as athletes get older they work smarter. When athletes are younger they often have big waves of improvement in strength, flexibility and higher performance. It seems Hezly is in a big wave of positive improvement and momentum. I hope she has a good competition at the Olympics and I hope to see her wave of improvement keep going as it is now. Rock on.
@@OLYMPIANTEACHES-bh6gp hai bro, have u check Viktoria Komova? This is during her won Olympic Youth 2010. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZzyEFD-xPEk.htmlsi=fxn-EGHuFC-dMhRx
There are a lot of crazy comments about her "non-seniority" and "inexperience", despite being the only one who had an international assignment at this Olympic year.
I am not really concerned with age. I am more interested in the gymnastics. I was 18 when I made my first Olympic team and that is young for a male gymnast but I was used to the competitive environment and competed well in the Olympics. Either way, Hezly is doing some really nice gymnastics now and seems to have a positive momentum.
@@cocoroni1031 Everyone has their perspectives. There are many things I dont know and cant know so I let the athletes gymnastics do the talking and educate me. She is in a huge positive wave and doing some really nice gymnastics. that seems clear to me. Rock on.
I beleive she definitly has more skills she could do and is probably balancing being consistant and doing her harder skills. I look forward to watching grow as time goes passes and she is already doing some great gymnastics. Rock on.
@@stevenbrozynski5555 glad you like the analysis. I’m really not sure either. She’s very talented and does some great gymnastics. I think the three potential team members that were injured, shiles, sky, and Kayla was unexpected so they are probably reevaluating many things with the current team. I am curious to see how they place her as well. All my best.
4:21⇨ I'd personally take a "small fault" deduction for Hazly's ring position here. Because as the CoP states, there are 3 requirements for the ring position, 2 of which Hezly meets, and 1 which IMO she does not: Upper back arch and head release (✓ for Hezly); 180° split of legs on the diagonal (✓ for Hezly); & Back foot *TO* crown of head (Ⅹ for Hazly). IMO, in Hezly's instance, the D-panel would give the skill its value (as her back foot is not below the crown of her head); however, as per the CoP, the E-panel, would then take a small fault deduction for her "rear foot [being only] at head height." For a much better explanation of what i mean: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YfQm4aUUPF0.html.
Thanks for the message. That is a lot to consider in a skill that lasts a micro second and I imagine, even with experienced judges, it is often a judgement call and they do their best. Slow motion gives us great advantage to see things more accurately. I am not a women's judge so I look more at the artistry and compare to other gymnasts. Thanks for you insights and my best.
I hope they do use her for All around. It is a different sport than it was in my time as we did not have specialists. I am curious how the final roster will look. Rock on.
Okay Mr Lance in your Fancy Pants, isn't a stalder-Maloney called a Chow, as in Amy Chow, the American girls that has Olympic Gold, Silver and Bronze hardware in her jewelry box????? I wasn't surprised by Hezly at all, look who her coach is, look et her results at Nationals, look at her results a year ago....she is on a trajectory...now if she continues with Valeri and goes for LA Gold will be a question to ask each year after she has already had her Olympic experience this year....She is already capable of many upgrades with the amplitude she has in all her skills...she could be the 2028 AA Champ!!!!?....!!!!!!
it's not officially named the chow. also it's not that big a deal nor incorrect to not refer to it as chow. why are you so worked up "I wasn't surprised by Hezly at all, look who her coach is" this is the first american gymnast he's gotten to the olympics who isn't his daughter so not sure what point you're trying to make lol
Haha. Thanks for the message. In the code of points, that skill does not have a name but thank you for the information. Valeri does a great job with his gymnasts and I am a fan of their technique. Hezly is definitely on the rise at this time. I think many were surprised as the three girls that were injured at Trials were generally considered more front runners. I agree that Hezly is capable of much more and look forward to her growth in the sport.
@@erinm9445 I don’t think I understand. Many people, me included, we’re very surprised she made the team. I did not consider her for the Olympic team before the three favored athletes were injured at trials. Good for her to rise to the occasion.
@@erinm9445 I also predicted Gabby would be Olympic Champion in 2010, Suni in 2019, Nastia in 2002, Carly in 2001, Shannon in 1991...and had Gutsu been deducted correctly for her first pass Shannon would have been...I predicted back to 1984 correctly with the 92 debacle oh and 1996, I thought it was Dawes to take
4:35 omg, I love Simone Biles' athleticism but she has no control over that wolf turn 😭 I hope we see much less of that with the new ruleset Anyway, thanks for the analysis! Hezly wasn't on my radar at all but I'm super excited to see her at the Olympics
