Mark would be willing to post a video of the settings you are using on the FT-981, and then the settings in Winlink & VARA HF? Or are the videos that you are aware of that could help me the settings? I am using a digirig between by radio and Computer for audio, and a single usb from Radio to computer for cat control. All the connections are working, but I am missing something in the settings somewhere, I am unable make any HF connections.
Check here for a full list of settings and feel free to reach out via email. My contact info is on the website. km6zpo.com/winlink-via-vara-hf-with-yaesu-ft-891-and-signalink-working-settings/
Good question. Lido mounts make the ball mount to screw. The screw part goes into the back of the radio. The ball mount fits most standard phone mounts. So you just take off the phone mount and replace it with the ball mount. Check here for more options: www.lidoradio.com/collections/amateur-ham-radio-mounts

You can just cut the cable on the charger that comes with the laptop and put Powerpoles on each end. Then you can charge with 120v or pull Powerpoles apart and use a battery.
